I ordered two dozen cupcakes for a birthday party and as always, Piece of Cake never disappoints. The ordering was seamless and over the phone (knew what I wanted) and because I was having a friend pick them up, that was noted with the order. We love their Churro cupcakes and I had 12 of them. This cupcake is a moist cake, covered with their cinnamon buttercream and topped with a tiny churro. I also got their chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting, which are always moist and sweet and just the bomb! Highly recommend their cupcakes!!!

Each year, I am looking for a place that has the creativity to make beautiful custom decorated cakes but also one that tastes delicious. Why does it have to be so hard??? This place is recommended for wedding cakes, but they were great helping me with my daughter's birthday cake. I worked with them via email just to see if they could make a simple design and to get a quote on pricing. Very gracious experience and saved me the trouble of driving to the physical store. The prices are a bit expensive which I expected since they do weddings, but the reviews made me keep an open mind. They also allowed me to come by to sample a few of the flavors which was awesome so my daughter was sure of what she wanted before we committed to the order. I was told to place the order a couple weeks ahead since they do book up, but that was pretty standard for this kind of work. They asked for a 50% deposit which was also fine with me. The end result was perfect! I opted to add the cake topper decorations myself so they gave me a simple design which was executed perfectly. They were very flexible to work with. The cake was a devil's food cake chocolate and was so moist! The filling was a raspberry compote and equally delish. My kid was happy and the guests enjoyed their cake and Mom was left satisfied with a new place to order my future cakes from in the future.

We used Piece of Cake for our wedding cake, and it was so incredibly delicious. They were so accommodating to our vegan guests and bride as well!! The top tier was made vegan for no extra charge, and they added vegan buttercream to the entire cake for an extremely small fee!! Our cake came out more beautiful than we could've ever expected!! The ordering is very easy, they have excellent communication. I just had my daughter's first birthday party and the cake they made as an exact replica of her favorite little toy surpassed all expectations. It was the hit of the party and looked so much like her toy she reached right for one of the little fondant feet in excitement! I can't recommend this business enough!

Piece of Cake provided a beautiful 3 tier wedding cake for my husband's and my wedding! Their website is so user friendly - it was SO easy to book a tasting! When my husband and I arrived for the tasting, their customer service was impeccable. They were so friendly and their products are quality!!! Importantly, they had gluten free options ready for me to try during the tasting! It was tough to narrow it down to three flavor combinations - everything was so yummy! We ended up ordering one tier of churro flavored cake with cinnamon buttercream filling, a second tier of lemon cake with lemon buttercream filling, and a third tier of Gluten Free Vanilla Cake with the cinnamon buttercream! SO DELICIOUS!! During the tasting, we showed them our vision for the cake decoration/detailing, and they delivered! Our wedding cake turned out beautifully! Thank you, Piece of Cake!!

What a cute and simple shop! You're greeted by the nicest employees who are willing to help right away, but patient enough to not rush your decision making! We stopped for cupcakes as a treat after visiting the nail salon next door. I chose the cinnamon roll cupcake and my mom chose the caramel apple cupcake. WOW! These are delightful. The cinnamon roll cupcake had a rich and creamy cheesecake frosting dusted in a cinnamon sugar bite. The cake was strudel style and so beautiful! The caramel apple cupcake had an indulgent caramel frosting topped with fresh walnuts and the cake was stuffed with a slight cinnamon tasting apple filling. No wonder this business has 9 awards on their walls. There's a cold case with ready to grab cakes and occasion cakes on display. You gotta try it!!

Piece of Cake Desserts made our wedding cake and my husbands grooms cake and both were absolutely perfect. During our tasting it was so difficult to choose because everything we tried was delicious. We finally narrowed it down to carrot cake with cream cheese filling, devils food cake with strawberry filling, and the top tier and bottom tier were white almond infusion with and almond cream cheese filling. Every single tier was amazing. The grooms cake was devils food with peanut butter and strawberry filling which was exactly what my husband wanted and he loved it. Our wedding cake was a stunning 4 tiers and it was put together exactly like the photo I showed them. I would highly recommend Piece of Cake Desserts for your special occasion!

Our wedding cake was something I was incredibly excited about, and unfortunately it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of our day. The design we discussed and were shown was a spatula-lined, ripple-style cake with a true ombré effect, starting with a rich plum at the bottom and gradually fading through soft shades of purple into white at the top. What we received did not reflect that vision. The cake was a very dark plum throughout, the finish looked uneven, and the ombré effect was not present. My husband immediately noticed that it wasn't what we had asked for, and it was honestly upsetting to see something so different from what we expected. That said, the flavor was absolutely delicious and truly the saving grace. We chose a more unconventional flavor combination of lemon cake with blueberry compote, and it tasted incredible. Many of our guests commented on how good it was. While the cake tasted wonderful, the visual execution did not align with what was requested or shown during the design process. Given how meaningful the wedding cake is as both a focal point and photo moment, this was really disappointing for us. I wish the final design had more closely matched what we had discussed, but I do appreciate the quality of the flavor and baking itself. read more

My husband and I wanted to do a gender reveal with cupcakes and found this gem online. I asked one of my bffs to call in the cupcake order for us so we could pick it up. The process was easy and ready for the next day. We got 2 vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting Late that night, we both took giant bites of the cupcake and found the gender of our baby! Thank you for making these cupcakes happen for our special day! The cupcake was the most moist and flavorful cake I've had in a long time! I've been getting all my cakes here from now on. Our cake came out beautifully and exactly how we wanted it! The cake tasted delicious even after the wedding! We've received so many compliments on the cake and the flavors. We got pink champagne and churro flavors. After the wedding, our top tier was packed with the flowers and was left in a bin for 2 days in the heat. Long story short our top tier was destroyed :(. Piece of cake was so nice to make us another one and they were able to put both flavors in that tier! We are so fortunate to have Piece of Cake as our cake vendor. They did such an amazing job and the customer service is superb! Definitely recommend them for any special occasion! read more

If you are looking for the most delicious cupcakes and cakes, this is your place to go! We stumbled across them because they were included in our wedding package as one of the vendors. We immediately chose them over the others because their cupcakes were out of this world delicious! They are moist ( oh ya, I said it), and flavorful but not overpowering. You can buy cupcakes one at a time or in groups of 6. I go in on our anniversary every year and try to buy all the flavors we had at our wedding. We love this place! You can book a tasting and go tet a lot of the flavors they offer and you won't be disappointed. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, and I highly recommend the company ad a whole. read more

I was walking around this plaza when I saw an ad saying "cupcakes no cupcakes ", so I decided to stop in for a treat. Big desserts like wedding cakes or trays of cupcakes are priced decently, but the single cupcakes are way too pricey for a treat! I will admit they are really delicious. Since I don't like my food to be too sweet, it wasn't my favorite, but I can see why many people would really enjoy this. Service was very fast, and the workers are super patient and kind! Shop is very small. It's more of a shop than a dessert cafe or anything casual like that. For my personal experience, I would give it a 3.5/5, but since I now know this isn't supposed to be a casual thing and more catering, I'll give 4 stars :) read more

Piece of Cake did an absolutely stellar job on creating the cake that I wanted for my fiancés 30th birthday. I sent them a few pictures, spoke with them and finalized what I wanted and they made the dream come to life. I could not decide what flavor I wanted since he likes Spice Cake and Carrot equally, they kindly suggested doing both - best decision. The cakes were moist and flavorful but not overbearing. Very helpful staff. Unfortunately the cupcakes were not anything I'd go back and buy. I don't mind 4.00 per cupcake 19.00 with tip is sad. Cake part was ok but not great. Chocolate was the freshest. Way overpowering sweet. All too sweet. Tasted each but didn't finish any Had others tasting too. All said way too sweet. Maybe their cakes r outstanding. Not just their establishment but hard to find any bakers that make great cupcakes. It's not just the icing but someone must make good cakes Not everyone likes to bite into a mouthful of sweet icing read more

We ordered our wedding cake from here last year, and due to miscommunication issues with our venue, we never got to have an actual piece on our wedding day! But we saved the top tier per tradition, and finally had our 1 year anniversary bite. And even a whole year later, our cake was still AMAZING ! Delicious and not overly sweet. We were shown some of the beautiful buttercream cakes on their instagram but clearly there must be some variance in execution and it is very alarming considering the price. Keep in mind flowers and topper are not provided by Piece of Cake Desserts Hi Kevin, thanks for responding. My husband and I have never seen that url before and it's most definitely not the type of cake style either of us are drawn to. Piece of Cake made our wedding cake last August 12th for our wedding. The wedding cake was really good so this year I went two weeks ahead and ordered our anniversary cake in the exact same flavors of our wedding cake. I paid in full $32 two weeks ahead. When we arrived to the shop, the associate went in the back for a long time and came back out and told me my husband had picked it up already. I was shocked because I knew he didn't. The associate went to the back and came out again and told us the baker was finishing it up. We waited for a while and she came out with the cake. When we got home to take pictures and taste it, we realized it was not the cake I ordered. It was not the flavor or the frosting. So,they did not make our cake or sold it to someone else, then threw ours together with what they had in the back. I am writing this because I was so disappointed this was our experience on our first anniversary. The cake we received was dry and not what we wanted and was expensive. I feel they care about the wedding cake customers and not the other customers who pay good money for their cakes.I am sorry to say we will not be back to this shop. ***thank you for your response but we did not want an exact replica we just wanted the same flavors, and that still wasn't delivered because they forgot to make our cake according to thier behavior when I arrived. I cannot say enough good things about Piece of Cake. Not only was the cake amazing, but the display look exceptionally beautiful as well. We received tons of compliments from our guests about how excellent the cake and cup cakes were. We did a mixture of both, because we've been to many weddings where a large amount of the cake isn't eaten and ends-up getting thrown away. Piece of Cake worked with us to make a smaller version of the cake, which matched the exact style that I was after. The cake and cupcakes were such a hit that Justin & I didn't even get a full piece of either. Definitely recommend...excellent deserts and very professional and helpful staff. I ordered a graduation cake for my daughter. It was enough for 8-10 people. So was about a two layer 8" cake. Cost was over $100. I gave the decorator leeway to decorate. Gave the school colors, my daughter's interests and where she was going to college. The price was worth the fantastic detail that was on the cake! I was VERY impressed! But sadly that is where it stopped. I had called the week before pickup to change the flavor. I had ordered the pink champagne. My daughter tried one of the cupcakes and told me it had no flavor. So I asked to change. After some back and forth they said they would change. Imagine my surprise when I cut the cake only to find they did not change the flavor. The champagne was tasteless. Must get the red velvet cupcakes!!!! We had our wedding cake and additional cupcakes made here, could not have turned out any better! The cupcakes are rich and moist and our two tiered cake was beautiful. The shop was wonderful with helping us choose flavors and gave us a half dozen of our choosing to take home and taste. This wasn't a stray hair - that's relatively benign and sometimes happens in food prep, not great but harmless. This was a different category of foreign body in food: fragments that looked like they came off equipment, which means whatever produced them is presumably still in use, still capable of doing it again to the next person. This is what made the unresponsiveness frustrating. It's not about my daughter's one açaí bowl, it's about whether the thing that caused it ever got looked at. A simple "we looked at it, can't determine yet what happened, but we'll update you" would have been fine, but I got boilerplate "you deserve better" corporate slop. I didn't want my ego stroked, I wanted them to look into something serious. They are great at moving fast in public: their Yelp! reply was up within a day, right under my review, where everyone can see it. But the private follow-up, the part nobody else is watching, has now gone three weeks radio silent, after they were the ones who asked for my number, but never used it. Fast when it's visible, and crickets when it's not, tells you where the attention really goes. If you're reading this and trying to decide, take a little time with the reviews here, the detailed ones and the thin ones, the recent and the older, and decide for yourselves if there is a pattern or not. I'm done with them, they lost my trust. For the record, their açaí bowls when they don't contain bits of industrial machinery are pretty good, but we'll go to Swami's when we are in Oceanside and will try to find something else in the valley.

We had a wonderful experience with Piece of Cake AZ! Although they offer in-person consultations, we couldn't attend due to our timeline--we decided to book a baker just 1.5 months before our wedding. Instead, we picked up cake samples, and they provided a helpful card detailing all the next steps. Every sample tasted incredible, but we ultimately chose a 3-tier round red velvet cake. The process was seamless--they just needed our venue, wedding date, guest count, cake shape, number of tiers, flavor, and some inspiration pictures. They were super responsive and kind throughout our email exchanges, answering all of our questions. On the day of the wedding, I didn't even have to think about the cake; they handled everything perfectly. The cake was delicious! We didn't get to eat much on our wedding night, but luckily we had plenty leftover. We even shared it with three of our close relatives and still had more than enough. Piece of Cake AZ also made it special by gifting us our top tier to save for our one-year anniversary, complete with a box for storing it. However, I highly recommend getting an airtight box for freezing the cake to avoid freezer burn, as the box they provide is cardboard. Wrapping that top tier together the day after was a sweet moment for us, and we were so excited to defrost and enjoy it on our one-year anniversary. Update: We defrosted our top tier on our one-year anniversary and it still tasted so good--it was surprisingly moist! We kept it in our fridge in an airtight container for a week and would treat ourselves to a slice every time we got home from work. By the end of the week, we had eaten about a quarter of the cake and, sadly, had to throw the rest away. Still, it was such a sweet way to celebrate and relive the day. So worth it! read more

3 weeks till my wedding my bridesmaid dropped out and said she wouldn't be able to make my cake. I remember she said she used to work for Piece of Cake, so I thought I would give them a shot. I myself have worked for a local bakery for almost 5 years. However, making my own wedding cake was something I did NOT want to do. Thankfully Amy and her husband agreed to help me out. They were both so sweet and kind through the process and I tell you what, my wedding cake was GORGEOUS!!!! Exactly like I had drawn it! Plus, it tasted wonderful! My husband and I had our wedding last night, and our cake from Piece of Cake was absolutely perfect! We chose a 3-tier almond and red velvet undressed cake, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. It not only looked beautiful but also exceeded all of our expectations in flavor and presentation.
