I grew up riding BMX bikes for many years and we never had anything like this available. Now I can't wait to take my boys there with their bikes, and get another bike for myself. Dirt World has a little bit of everything for everyone. Whoops, berms, tabletops, doubles, big stuff, small stuff. The only things still needed are more lighting, seating and ideally (but due to space constraint, virtually impossible) a secured outhouse and sanctioned racing. But for what is resent, it's a great thing. Go visit Dirt World, help make it a success.

It…read moreactually reminded us a lot of Disneyland's Soarin' Over California, but without the lines, we had the whole theater to ourselves, which is pretty amazing considering amount of tourists in SF. ​We ended up doing two rides over two days. The San Francisco flight was a bit dizzying but great and the T-Rex dinosaur experience was fully computer-generated but still a lot of fun. Each ride lasts about 10 minutes and features immersive details like tilting seats and wind effects from fans. It would be nice if they also added mists when you fly over the ocean. It's wasn't too expensive I believe it was $15 for adults and $13 for kids. Its something different to do if the weather is not great.

I did the flyer ride. It is about a seven or eight minute ride, It was a lot of fun. It's one of those where you sit in the seats, and then the floor drops out from under you, and it is like you are flying over the city. The wind blows in your face, and when you were going over the water, you feel just a little bit of a spray. I don't want to give anything away, but it does take you all over the city. It was really a lot of fun. The only reason I'm taking off a star, is because the flyer ride is a bit expensive. It's $14 per person, adult or child. That wasn't too bad for myself, but if you are more than two or three people, it can add up. Regardless, it was well worth the money for myself to do. I wouldn't come back to see the same movie, but if they changed it, I would ride it again.. This ride is also part of the "San Francisco city pass. I had fun.. Thanks!

We attended the Sail Grand Prix final day in SF this past Sunday, the race stadium located at the…read moreYacht Club Peninsula. Got the cheaper waterfront reserve tickets which was more than sufficient to have a great view and a good time. Doors opened at 1pm with a long line that stretched all the way to the street (near Palace of Fine Arts, which is also where they offered event parking for a fee), but the line actually went fast and took us about 20 minutes to the security check and entry point on the pier. Before showtime, guests could grab food and drinks (they had several food vendors like Respectable Bird, Izzy's chicken/salmon teriyaki, Bonito Poke, as well as bar tents for beverages), or purchase event merchandise (we customized a SailGP hat with paint). Bleacher seating was plentiful and right along the water, where attendees could enjoy house music playing through the speakers, a bit of trivia and event clips showing on the giant screens near the bleachers, and wind surfers on foilboards performing tricks for the crowd on the water. Race times were from 2:30-4:00pm, and even though team USA was not one of the top teams, many fans in the crowd waved their US flags (which they gave out for free) and cheered in delight from the stands. The competition and race details were explained thoroughly and shown on the screen, helpful for inexperienced viewers. But it was fun just watching the F50 foiling catamarans racing on the water, and rooting for different countries. In the end, Spain defeated the Aussies who had done so well the first two races of the day, and took home the championship trophy along with $2 million in prize money. Definitely a unique experience and even more exciting if you like competitions and/or water sports, the announcers providing great commentary as well. And the event was very well organized, the sound and picture quality of the big screens and speakers allowed all attendees and viewers a pleasant experience, entertainment value was high, clean and sufficient porta potties meant no waiting for restrooms, and communication prior to the event date, about parking options and what to expect, was clear and professional.

Yet another Only-in-San Francisco event. Every Easter Sunday children & adult children ride…read moreridiculously small children's trikes, skateboards, office chairs, much etc, while wearing unrelated to Easter costumes, down Vermont street in Potrero Hill. BTW- Vermont St is the Real crookedest street, not Lombard. The onlookers stand behind rows of hay bales. Don't poke your head out to take a pic or you'll get your nose broken, and you'll have to wear a big honking white cast on your nose for a week. Not that that ever happened to me one year. The kids race down the street first at 3pm. Even toddlers, with parents running behind with a leash. The crowd is so generous with the hesitant littlest ones, cheering wildly. The adult children start at four, when all hell breaks loose, runaway plastic wheels down the street, pileups, crazy costumes, and adult sized people on impossibly small wheeled toys. It's not too hard to get a good view. Truly a feel-good fun event for the entire family. Put on your must-see list. Bring your friends from out of town. Enjoy!

BYOBW is a fun free event that happens every Easter Sunday (minus the last two years due to COVID)…read more Participants bring trikes and big wheel creations (rules say plastic only), and come to glide down the curvy hill adjacent to McKinley Square Park and within the neighborhood. This is the first time I discovered a crooked street in SF other than Lombard, and I actually like it better because it doesn't try too hard to be this fancy tourist spot, and yet the area's inviting with lots of trees and greenery that make it a great setting for an event like this. The organizers seem pretty chill without being super strict with rules like some other comparable events. You participate at your own risk, you cross the course at your own risk, you climb the pathways as a spectator at your own risk. Love the casual feel, yet still organized well to minimize problems. The curves of the course are lined with bales of hay, to protect people from crashes. But nothing bizarre/ dangerous really happens. I attended the 2022 event this past Sunday. The kids' event is in the early afternoon. Then the adult race was from 3-5pm. I thought parking would be a nightmare but finding free street parking actually wasn't too difficult, especially if you know the neighborhood. It's somewhat crowded because there isn't a lot of space along the curvy hill, and a lot is not level ground. But we easily found spots to sit and watch up close, without arriving early. There are steps along both sides, a bit on the steeper side, a perk of having plastic trikes that are not too heavy since racers have to carry their "big wheels" up to the top to slide down multiple times. The entertainment value is high, spectators cheering, racers screaming, crashing, spinning, laughing, and everyone just having a good time. Grown adults, most dressed in funky costumes, attempting to ride little girl trikes down the hill, wheels falling off and everything! Yep, makes for a good show. I only saw the end of the kids event (cuz i came to watch the adult race) but some parents/adults were holding or running down the hill with their kids' trikes. The adult race was definitely more exciting. This isn't a race to win... its all just for fun (for both riders and spectators), and I only stayed for an hour but definitely had a lot of fun. It only happens once a year in Potrero Hill, but it's totally worth checking out.

I came to my first pole class in October 2022 and have been hooked ever since. I recently loss a…read moresignificant amount of weight and wanted a way to get fit, have fun and feel comfortable in my body. My first class was with Zhara. She was great, full of energy and helpful. After one class, I went to a couple more intro classes eventually I purchased the 10 pack package (more bang for your buck) and subsequently moved to an annual membership after about 3 months of consistent classes. Each class and instructor I have taken has been wonderful. The entire staff is knowledgeable, encouraging and willing to offer feedback and assistance. I have taken multiple classes with the convenience of the annual pass. (Ie intro, low flow, twerk, poleography, pole workout, inversion etc). I have nothing but positive feedback about the instructors. Zhara's energy and abilities are awesome! Kelli's intro to pole and inversion class is wonderful. I always feel challenged but encourage that I will continue to progress. Kate's breakdown of the technical details with intro to inversion sessions are amazing. It feels like having a private session. Vickya's exercises in intro to pole particularly looking in the mirror and watching myself has helped me boost my self esteem. Tink's boot camp class has helped me get in better shape. C Michelle's energy and class on twerking has opened my eyes to the art form. Kat's kindness and beautiful choreography in low flow has helped me gain confidence in my own sensuality and body. For someone who never been on a pole 5 months ago and was shy to now being able to climb and starting to learn inversion, this studio has been amazing. So glad I took that first intro class and took a chance in myself. Now I can't get enough!!! I can't say enough positive things about this studio. In a short time I have learned so much and am excited weekly for my pole classes. I have met diverse folks of all backgrounds and it's beautiful to be part of this community.
