This is one of the many attractions at Pier 39. They have the flyer ride, they have a "7D experience" which is like a "shooter" game on a giant screen, and then they also have two "escape rooms." Everybody here was very friendly. I did the flyer ride. It is about a seven or eight minute ride, It was a lot of fun. It's one of those where you sit in the seats, and then the floor drops out from under you, and it is like you are flying over the city. The wind blows in your face, and when you were going over the water, you feel just a little bit of a spray. I don't want to give anything away, but it does take you all over the city. It was really a lot of fun. The only reason I'm taking off a star, is because the flyer ride is a bit expensive. It's $14 per person, adult or child. That wasn't too bad for myself, but if you are more than two or three people, it can add up. Regardless, it was well worth the money for myself to do. I wouldn't come back to see the same movie, but if they changed it, I would ride it again.. This ride is also part of the "San Francisco city pass. I had fun.. Thanks! read more

My son and I were walking by this place and the staff member roped us into conversation to advertise this attraction. At first, I was going to be on our way but then we saw that they have a T.Rex Safari adventure and I knew my son would love it. We decided to purchase tickets for this and had to walk back to the front of the pier, where the rides are actually located (above Hard Rock Cafe). We were the only ones in the theater as it was the middle of the week when we came. We only had to wait five minutes before they let us in and we had our pick of seating. When the ride starts, the guardrail goes down so you're exposed to the screen and at first I was actually kind of scared by how high we were. Once the ride started though, I was so caught up in the experience that I forgot my fear. We soared over prehistoric dinosaurs and got to run with them before diving into the waters and trying to escape from sharks and other water dinosaurs. Then we went back up and had a T.Rex chase us trying to eat us. Overall, a very cool experience and one that my son loved. read more

We just had our son's 9th birthday party with 9 of his friends and their parents and it was absolutely a fantastic experience! Clayton helped us organize the event. He was prompt, detailed and responsive at each point since our initial contact with him. On the day of the event, Frank, the guest relations specialist, welcomed us and every single one of our guests. He was so attentive to the party and to our guests every step of the way. He coordinated the itinerary and helped guide us from one activity to the next. His warm personality and positive energy set the tone for the party. One of the best part of the day for us was that the room was decorated with balloons, our son's name was on monitors in the room, tablecloths, utensils, themed napkins were all set on the tables. They provided pizza, soda and water for our guests. The only thing we brought was the cake!! It was the easiest party I had ever planned. Regarding the experience: the kids and the parents all could not stop talking about this being the best party that they attended. As my son summarized it "it was epic!". Lol the whole experience was bad ass lol make sure to check in you get 2 bucks off, man i honestly dont have the words to express how much fun and thrilling it was. First u pick what theme of action you want, then you walk in and watch an intro video to let u know whats going on and you prepare your self and get ready for the fun. Once ur in u sit down and buckle in they hand you some 3d glasses and you get the gun thats next to you seat and let the fun begin. The seats move in sequence with whats happening on the screen its weird because when there was wind in the screen u can feel the wind in ur seat, hella koo!! The customer service was great they employees were really friendly after the first show they offer us a half price 2nd show and we did it again. I've got mixed reviews on this package deal from Go City. The Flyer Thrill Zone ride was pretty cool. It was overall an entertaining ride that was clean and well maintained. However, the 7D Experience was not appealing at all. From the moment you walked into the theater, there was a foul stench. Something between dirty socks and mildewed carpet. Neither my wife nor I could see out of the 3D glasses, actually better without them. I've been to my fair share of 3D movies to know the difference and this was pretty sad. read more

The 7D experience is a great concept! We loved fastening our seatbelts and shooting zombies. It was like a big shooting game from the arcades! If you have a game lover, this is definitely a stop to try. It is located at Pier 39. Price: $11 per person Parking: street parking if you luck out or paid parking close by. If i were you, use the muni/bus/cable cars. We had a lot of fun doing this, but it was really short. Just when we started getting into it, the ride ended. Seriously, we put $2 to $4 in an arcade to shoot and play longer than this. The staff also didn't seem into their jobs. We couldn't hear the person giving the instructions, and I couldn't help to observe how they were bored about the whole thing. Ruins the whole experience when you can't even pretend to like the job. I was a bit weary about this before purchasing tickets but I am so glad I did. It is so much fun. The only downside is that I wish it were a little bit longer. Overall, I thought the ride was ok, but I didn't feel the need to do it more than once. The 7D Experience is located on Pier 39, towards the end of the dock. The entrance is to the right of the carousel. I purchased our tickets online using a Groupon. It ended up being $7 per person (instead of $12 per person). The best part is that you can use your ticket on any day at any time. They have a couple of different themes (zombies, werewolves, robots), but they only show one at a time. I recommend playing whatever is next instead of waiting for a particular one. The game itself is actually pretty short, maybe 5 minutes. They will give you a pair of 3D glasses to wear and you use the laser gun next to your seat. I thought the gun was bulky and difficult to use. The barrel is huge, so you can't really aim precisely and the trigger was difficult to pull quickly multiple times. We played two rounds and at the end of each round, they took a picture of the audience (which you can purchase later). One thing that was really cool was they posted on the screen who got the highest scores in your group. read more

Zombieland I got my first gun for xmas when I was 4. It came with a cowboy type belt and holster. I patrolled the mean streets of downtown San Diego and kept order. Technology has changed a lot since those simpler days. I was excited to learn this place has guns with a laser sight and zombies were overrunning the earth. After a brief orientation we got into our seats and what do you know zombies appear! That is when the teenage girls started shrieking! The more zombies I doubled tapped the more zombies appeared and the louder the girls screamed. It was total mayhem. In the end I saved us from zombies and got the high score. Too short! Downside is I wish the ride/experience was longer! This was really fun! We chose the zombies over monsters on the DarkRide attraction. We were all given 3D glasses for visual effects. Add to the fun was effects on the seats which makes you feel that you're on a roller coaster ride. Make sure you fasten your seatbelt. I guess combine the 3D visual and the ride makes it a 7D Experience. Each player has a laser gun to use and just start shooting zombies (or monsters) coming at you on the big screen. Once in a while you will see a human (non-zombie) in the scene... don't shoot them or you will be docked 500 points. Total play time is about 15 min. The sound effects, graphics and even wind blown effect were all cool. There was a trial practice in the beginning. Players find out their scores at the end of the actual game. Photos are taken too as you play and is optional to buy as you exit. Located inside Pier 39 towards the back. Used a Groupon deal for this (I wouldn't pay full price). So much fun!! This was a part of the 48 hour city sightseeing tour. It is located on Pier 39 towards the back under Bubba Gump Shrimp. If you are a yelper there is a $2 coupon when you check in. You can buy it separately outside of the tour. I did the zombie apocalypse and it was so awesome! The experience was out of this world I thought I was really fighting zombies!! LOL. This is a great activity for a large range of ages. Beware it can be a little scary for the younger ones but there are other options outside of zombie. Also, if you have back issues or don't like the movement they can turn your chair off so you can still enjoy the experience!! I highly recommend 7D experience. I went here with some relatives. I thought it would be like Dino Island which I had ridden several years prior. It's an interactive ride and you shoot at different monsters. We wore these special glasses. We went to two different themes. one was Zombies the other one was Carnavale. The guide was really good. she told us what to shoot, what the bonuses were, and the basics of the ride. Remember don't shoot civilians! It feels like you're really there Zombies they come out of nowhere. They get right up to the screen. There are bursts of air. It's so fun. I liked Carnavale best. There is a roller coaster and it seemed so real. The seats move. You shoot at anything that doesn't feel right. At the end the top 5 shooters are highlighted. I had a ton of fun at 7D experience. Only thing I would change is make the ride longer, it was over way too soon. There are some limitations to riding. Pregnant women people with heart problems etc. The next time you visit San Francisco check out 7D experience! You will be so happy you did! Remember don't shoot civilians haha read more

I cannot even describe how much fun this 7D Dark Ride was. I've been checking it out for a while and trying to plan a fun trip to SF with my bf and his boys. We made a day of it and hit up arcade games, museums, and then this ride on the Wharf. There were 3 of the 7 themes playing to choose from and we walked up right as one was starting, which was similar to a MadMax theme. A quick safety instruction video and then we were led into the playing room, given 3D glasses (which they collect at the end) and competed for the highest score. I got highest in practice mode but fell to 6th place out of everyone in the room when the real game ended. The "ride" is outstanding. It's worth the few bucks you pay - totally fun and unique and very real! I wouldn't come back to the Wharf and not do this again! read more

When I learned about the 7D Experience while planning our vacation, I knew that we had to go there with our son. It is right up his alley. Simply put, it is basically a combination of motion picture ride, virtual reality, and arcade game. So cool! We all three loved it! It was only $13 for one time through per person. They have at least four different rides and you have your choice. You pay less for each additional ride, as well. My son chose the Carnival one. We also paid an additional $2 per person to add on "The Flyer" (check out my review for that, too). This was all extremely reasonable considering where we were and the experience it provided. We had tickets to this experience from a family fun pack so my dad and I got to do this, while the rest of our group did the carousel. We were told it would a 15 minute experience, and as I said, we had a voucher for it so we didn't have to purchase our own. I was glad to have not had to pay for the experience because while it was fun, it definitely wasn't the 15 minutes that it was said it would be, and if we had paid full price I would have been really disappointed about that. We chose to do the zombie car chase scenario (I don't remember the name of it) because it was the next available one and I didn't want to wait for the next one. All and all, it was definitely a fun experience but it was pretty quick and not worth the high price tag in my opinion. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was actually pretty fun. Took my son on three of the film options: Road Fighters, Zombies, and Werewolves. I liked the Werewolf the best but the car racing is less intense for younger viewers. You sit in a recliner and shoot at the screen as the seats bump, jerk, and rumble beneath you. It's a lot like Duck Hunt meets the Jurrasic Park ride-on game at any local Chuck-e-Cheese, but much darker and louder. I'm a local and I found out about this/came here because of a Groupon deal. Otherwise, as of 8/2017 the admission for one is $12 for a 15minute 7D laser experience - a bit on the pricey side. They also have some package deals with tours and if you decide to do another 7D experience the same day you get super discounted admission. Price aside, this is definitely a fun experience if you're at fisherman's wharf with a group of friends/family. You get to choose different theme/scenarios: the booth person said the most popular one is the zombie theme. Another option is like a shooter game and yet another option is werewolf theme. They also have a mirror or laser maze option offered (more physically demanding, like jumping over lasers) though those don't seem to be as popular as the rides. Don't be afraid to ask what's popular or what to expect! It's better to make sure you choose an option you think you'll enjoy best to make the most of those 15min. I chose the zombie option with a friend and we first went though a 5min intro. Then we sat in a room that had roller coaster looking seats, w seat belts and laser guns at each seat. The 7D part of the experience includes 10min of seat movement, wind, lights, 3D pop-out, etc. I don't want to say too much about the zombie experience to spoil it. For family friendliness, I would say it feels realistic enough to have fun with and maybe have a couple surprise moments. So it's not like overly intense. At the end you can buy a picture of yourself during the ride, $5 plus tax. I am sad to say I'm not very great with laser shooting games (10th place woohoo!) but I still had a good time. All in all I wouldn't come here as a regular, since it's a bit pricey for such a short ride. But it's an easy and fun destination to visit at least once and I would definitely bring visiting friends here again! read more

The staff are incredibly kind and knowledge. That would have been the end of my review, but my 7-year-old was in tears during the werewolf experience and they stopped the experience for him to safely leave. The manager followed up and apologized and gave all of us - even those of us who didn't pay for the experience and we're just chaperoning as well as the kid who stayed for the duration of it - a free pass to do the aerial tour of the Bay Area. The quality of their experiences is very high and their customer service couldn't be higher. read more

This was a spur of the moment thing that we seen and decided to do. It was late on a Monday night, so it wasn't crowded and in fact it was only me and my two cousins who played the 7D Zombie challenge and the laser challenge. Wasn't too sure what to expect, but the zombie challenge was more fun than I anticipated. You are strapped into your seat (paired with someone) and shoot the zombies on the big screen to get points, all while your chair is moving for to the footage of the game. We also did the laser challenge which was cool and you get to watch others on the screen while waiting. Overall a fun experience. read more

This was soooooo much fun for my kiddos birthday! We also went around pier 39 and took in the sights! The ride doesn't take too long so it's perfect as a part of a bigger adventure. I had so much fun playing this game with my fiancé. It was so much fun killing bunch of zombies and the effects of this game really made you feel like you were inside as if it was reality. It's about 12 bucks per person and the game lasts about 10 minutes. I was so proud of myself getting in 4th place and I beat my fiancé by 10 points so sadly for him he got into 5th place. My husband and I came here during our one-year anniversary trip in SF! We love this hidden gem tucked in Pier 39. The 7D Experience was open pretty late around 10:30 PM and we were the only ones there. We picked the Zombie game and they take a photo of you in the middle of the game. Too bad it was only a brief 10 minutes of it. I wish they would extend it for another 10 minutes. We will definitely be back for the experience again! read more

I loved the 7D Experience! I was able to demonstrate that I'd kick ass and take names in a zombie apocalypse or dinosaur attack! My boyfriend and I were not sure what to expect when we saw this on the Pier, but seeing the live footage of people currently playing the game, screaming, shooting, and laughing, made us cough up the $12 each real quick. Inside, you receive your glasses, there are a few minutes of short instructions (video and in person) and then you get 30 seconds to demo your gun and figure out what color you shoot with. Then you get shot into a living nightmare - fun!!! The graphics are slightly dated, but still very effective. The combination of imagery, sound, and the chair moving make for an immersive experience. We were screaming like banshees and cackling like hyenas the whole time. Not to mention we're super competitive so we were also in it to win it. We loved it so much that when it was over, we paid another $7 each to get back in line and do it again.
