I cracked a tooth on a Thursday night... not painful, but super unstable and had the potential to become excruciating. They not only took me Friday morning as a walk-in, Dr. Hannah, after seeing my issue, agreed that spending the weekend in this condition was unacceptable. Despite the office closing at 1:00, he scheduled me for an extraction at 12:30. In a world where even "emergency" dentistry can entail a wait of days, this restored my faith in humanity! 2 of his assistants were willing to stay late as well (thank you Heather and Monica!) Given the location of the tooth, I opted to set it up for an implant at a later date. Dr. Hannah talked me through the process and was very clear about what he was doing. During the extraction, pain mitigation was top notch... I didn't even feel the initial anesthetic shots. I love this dental office! Everyone is so nice! I had to have two wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Hannah, and I was very nervous! When I came into the office, Lisa reassured me and took me into the cozy relaxation room. Ally gave me a sedative, and Dr. Hannah even popped in to say hello. During the procedure I was very relaxed and even slept most of the time. I felt no pain during or after the surgery and had no swelling! Very disappointed by lack of transparency. My wife and I recently moved from Nevada back to CA, and have been looking for a new dental practice. She contacted them and asked them if they took our insurance, they confirmed that they did, but failed to mention that they are not in our network. This is something she wouldn't have known to ask, but the staff would have certainly known this and did not mention it, as it would have been a deterrent. So we ended up all going there including my son and they insisted we get new x-rays instead of fax the records over from our previous dental place. It wasn't until I saw the insurance bills and saw how little was covered that I noticed they were not in-network. My wife also marked "transparency" as the most important item on the intake form. Unfortunately, we are now stuck with huge dental bills because of all this. A complete waste of money, and we have to find another place who is in our network. read more

I called on Saturday and spoke tomorrow who is really nice looks like she put me together to get me in though After I told her I was temporarily on state insurance But she said not to worry that they would work with me. I never said once that they didn't take it so I drive all the way from deep in the mountains of grass Valley to Auburn just so they can tell me that I have to pay $300 in cash After tax and everything Upfront for them to work on me. they should've just told me they don't take my insurance and save me a trip time and gas. As if everybody isn't still trying to come out alive from the horseshit pandemic, and now all these dentists have just gone from serving and helping people to share, greed and profits. It's sad that our country is in the state. When you literally have a severe issue, they know you're in excruciating pain and suffering, and they bring you all the way down acting like they're The answers to all your problems, and pretend to care when really the only care about your money. I even let them know I will have the best insurance and dental in one month that didn't matter to them. Friend of mine almost died from this exact same thing had to have triple bypass surgery, and they turned me away after all this? They make me fill out my life story online and give them all my personal information in advance that they now probably own but they want money from me upfront that I didn't have at the time just to be seen? double standards. I'll definitely not be using my new dental insurance there they have no integrity and could give two shits about helping people they only want money. Dr. Roholt did an amazing job on my teeth over the past few years! First I had a crown problem that another dentist messed up badly. I came to Dr.Roholt and he fixed it for me. The crown feels like my own tooth! Then over the last year we have done Invisalign and my smile is perfect! I couldn't ask for better results! All the staff are very professional and accommodating! I found a better dentist who is caring and treats his employees with respect. I have to travel to see my new doctor but it's worth it. Also, Dr. Roholt has his employees write good reviews for his business. I would prefer to go to a dentist that practices ethical business. In addition to having his employee's write stellar reviews he doesn't allow them to take breaks and has them work off the clock without pay. I was in need of an emergency appointment, on a Saturday, for my 8-year-old son, who broke off HALF of his front tooth. I managed to get ahold of Dr. Marr who met us in the office within two hours along with her wonderful dental assistant, Susan. I am so very pleased with the swiftness, care, and kindness that was given to both myself and my son. All of the procedure was explained, and my son walked out of the office looking as good as new. It truly was amazing how the doctor was able to match not only the color of my son's teeth, but the subtle ways that make the tooth look real (slightly lighter near the tip, with faint bumps as newer teeth have). They have some pretty cheap new patient specials here which is great to take advantage of. However I was not very happy with my appointment. The dentist gave me a diagnosis of a cavity that later turned out not to need work after all (I got a second opinion) and he wanted to replace an entire filling instead of repairing it (which I got repaired somewhere else). The hygienist was super chatty and wanted to talk a lot which I wasn't in the mood for...he kept stopping throughout the cleaning and chatting. It is a clean office and multiple dentists means you shouldn't have an issue getting an appointment there, but I wasn't totally happy with my time here. read more

I love this practice! I have continued to come here even after moving 45 minutes away. Dr Vandewalker has an amazing chair side manner, and does excellent work. Just yesterday he fixed my chipped front tooth with PERFECTION! Even my hypercritical teenager said it was perfect! An update to my terrible experience here. Now they have the gall to send me a bill!! I was never treated!! I sat in a exam room for 4 hours shot up with novacain Until they were closing and I had to leave. These people are crazy!! They forgot me in the room!!! Haw can they bill me for nothing??!! Plus the extra day off work I had to take to actually get my tooth repaired. I called them and asked why I was getting a bill. They told me I had an appointment and had to pay. I called at the very end of the day on a Friday, and my doctor was not in the office, but Cassandra and Dr. Marr took great care of me and didn't at all make me feel like I was inconveniencing them while they were likely trying to head home for the weekend. I had not been to a dentist in nearly ten years. By luck and random choice, I chose Pier 210 dental. They were able to get me in for a new patient exam (which is incredibly reasonable, as I am uninsured) in under a week's time. I felt very at ease, their staff were friendly and welcoming, and sincerely catered to the needs of each patient. A week later, preceding the initial cleaning and exam, I was scheduled to have some fillings done. Dr. Marr does such beautiful work! I did not feel any discomfort or pain, and when I did, she stopped immediately and took the time to administer more numbing agent. It was a timely visit, and I believe they are very fairly priced. I haven't been to a dentist for awhile and I had heard of this place. I was quoted a price of $99 for a check up and cleaning and I found a coupon for $79. So I made an appointment. Now I must say everyone was very pleasant and the office is very nice.They took lots of x-rays and checked everything very thoroughly. Now, this is my big beef. They started the cleaning and worked on that for about 20 minutes and then was told they were out of time and I would have to make an appointment to come back and finish. Well, I wasn't happy about that but OK. Here's what really did it for me, they wanted me to pay another $99 to finish the cleaning!! When it comes to trips to the dentist, What I Know For Sure is this much: surprises, while being in The Chair, are almost always filed under Not Fun. Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200 - that will be charged to your Visa on the way out, thanks; and lose a turn. They can even involve some awkward hilarity: the summer after graduating high school, I made a routine trip to my family's small-town dentist before moving away to college. Our families were friends; his son and I grew up together from preschool playdates on, were in the same grade and circle of friends all through school, and I crushed on my fellow nerd as secretly as I could. Turns out Dr. Dad had the goods on my would-be boyfriend: As I'm in the chair, suction-straw sucking away and my tongue folded backwards, I get the message that "you know, Ben always says how nice and funny and smart you are, that you're original - pretty." Um. I nearly choked on the business end of the dental mirror checking up on my molars. In Pier 210's case, my surprise was of the more nasty variety. My insurance company had forgotten to drop me, and I had but 3 weeks to make the most of their mistake. All credit due to the front office staff for accommodating my haste, and my regular hygienist, Chris, was excellent as usual, attentive, thorough, and right to the point. Having been cavity-less until 22, mother nature had been out to make up for lost time in the 5 years since, and this visit was no exception: 3 dandies made their presence very well known. Dr. Skinner, my normal dentist, was double-booked through my insurance window, so Dr. Weiss graciously took me on, on the last day of coverage. I liked him immediately - he seemed to be the Stan Lee of dentistry, old-school and great chairside manner that reminded me of my late surgeon grandfather. After a junkie's worth of novocaine, we were in business. Let me say this much: I've never had 3 cavities filled so quickly. Until the 4th was discovered. A tucked away, class whatever was the worst decay, motherfucker to be reckoned with. As an added bonus, on the hardest to reach, furthest back surface of the furthest back molar. Peculiar, how those molars seemed to be a trend with the surprises. Obviously, the cavity wasn't his fault. And again, he was as swift as could be. But I felt a distinct roughness with this one, a Woah, that's getting a bit to close to the root nerve, either somebody please tell me what's going on or dope me up something fierce, NOW. Neither of those things happened. My teeth were in trauma for a good 10 days straight afterward, and that infamous surprise cavity stayed painful as hell for a month beyond that. During that month, I was switched back to Dr. Skinner for any followup, who *still* seemed to be too busy on the first call. On the second, it was an "Oh, that's normal, but *heaving sigh*, if you insist, we'll see what we can do and call you back with an appointment." 3 days went by - no call. After an exasperated message was left and another 3 days had gone by, I finally received a voicemail of my own with an appointment that was impossible for me to make - I was out of town, had tried as best I could to make that clear before they proceeded to schedule my appt without consulting with me prior. Though I returned the call to cancel, I was still sent a statement for a no-show fee. Again, What I Know For Sure: the quickest way to lose a patient's business is to evade their needs. When I finally walked into the clinic to deal with the bill and their slight lapse in properly billing the insurance, I was greeted by Dr. Skinner herself, with a Very Annoyed Sneer on her face. I have always taken offense to the way she educates her patients as if they were in kindergarten, and the self-righteous "this continuous cavity pain isn't our fault, it's yours" I was fed was the last straw. I asked for another appointment and walked out. That appointment has yet to materialize. Surprise? No. read more

My Mom recommended Pier 210 and I went with her suggestion. I did not have insurance but Pier 210 did offer a discount if I paid with cash or check. I can attest that the dental care I have received is high quality as I have not had any issues. I had to think about my review and if I wanted to say something negative during these times. I feel we have this site for transparency and so here it is. The office staff for the front office was not honest with me. I had tacked in services scheduled when I walked in for my cleaning only appointment. The office manager challenged my being truthful for my prior X rays. With all the appointments pushed and the Covid situation I honestly thought i had had them just a few months ago. In any case I did not ask for it nor was it offered when booking my re schedule for cleaning. I will add the gal that scheduled my appointment confirmed I only needed to plan for an hour. Now during my cleaning the counting was added on as an almost forgotten step. I get up to billing and the lady that seemed to not understand what was on the computer said that I had added on the counting?!?? It is what it is. I fee it is dishonest to not ask if additional services were wanted. We as the patient make the decision for what we want, not what office staff is trying to add up.
