Booking this site online was a breeze using the KOA App, in this day and age it's nearly impossible…read moreto book a site on a holiday weekend especially with only a few days notice unless by happenstance you score one because of a cancellation. I decided to come here to celebrate the July 4th weekend first because of the availability, it's proximity of my home and certainly because of the beautiful riverside location. I've driven through this campground several times before booking to see the accommodations. I agree with other reviewers most of the sites are pretty close together this is especially true for a Class A MotorCoach. The site we reserved was a back-in site along the tree line so there was some partial shade and even though the sites were gravel they did offer a level and mostly compacted pad. The location of the utilities were somewhat close to the neighbors and the sewer connections were a little closer to the awning side of our RV than I would of liked but the connections were positive and I never detected any odors. The 50 amp electrical service was stable and the fresh water quality and pressure were good. The old saying is you can't pick your neighbors and although for the most part RVers are usually friendly and courteous but some can be a little less than ideal - some just don't understand common campground etiquette, one would hope this is simply out of ignorance and not intentional but either way this is when you hope the campground management team steps up without a request especially when it's a rules violation, anyway it wasn't a deal breaker, just annoying. The close proximity of the campsites probably escalates the frustration of these minor infractions which would otherwise go unnoticed, I somewhat expected some of this when I saw how close the sites were from each other. I was overall okay with the entire experience, the accommodations met our expectations, the on-site restaurant and bar were a positive, the campground was well maintained, the location next to the river makes up for a lot of mis-cues and since the agenda is to relax and enjoy most sins are forgiven. I definitely would come back but I'd try and request my site instead of being assigned a spot without input. I think the per day price is a little steep but not outrageous by any means...

Some of the slips are among the RVs camping here. This was our first time at a "commercial" campground. We usually camp at state parks. The woman that manages this place is real nice and helped me out. I forgot some refrigerated medication at home; had my sister-in-law ship it but could not get to the office before closing time. She put the padded envelope in the late arrival box so we use our code to get it when we got back from Hollywood Studios. The girls really enjoyed the pool each night. They said the showers were really nice too. The maintenance people dropped off a picnic table the same day we requested one. Trash pickup service is every morning. Just set your bag out by the street and they will pick it up and carry it to the dumpster for you. There is a store with all your camping needs. I bought some sewer hookup enhancements that I didn't know I needed. Other than these items I mentioned, we didn't really spend all that much time in the campground, "camping" like we usually do. We used it for a base camp and spent all our time gone to the beaches, Disney parks, water parks and eating out in Orlando. Review #500

Melissa truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and her dedication did not go unnoticed. The houseboat was beautiful, spotless, and exactly what we hoped for. One employee appeared to be overseeing the operation, and we noticed that the otherwise capable staff seemed visibly tense when she was nearby. From our perspective, the team had everything under control and provided excellent guidance. Her oversight came across as unnecessary micromanagement. We booked a Monday-to-Sunday houseboat trip for our family of five. Our first night at Lungren Island was wonderful, but on Tuesday the boat initially would not start. After troubleshooting and contacting TowBoatUS, it eventually started, so we continued to Silver Glen Springs. Once there, we anchored and turned off the engine. When we needed to reposition the boat, it would not restart. After an hour of trying, we used our rented johnboat to keep the houseboat out of the channel and contacted TowBoatUS again. They were already nearby assisting another Holly Bluff boat. TowBoatUS replaced the starter, but that did not solve the problem. They suspected an issue that could not be repaired there, and the houseboat would need to be towed approximately six hours back to Holly Bluff. Thankfully, we had a working generator, water, food, and a functional johnboat, so we made the best of being stranded at Silver Glen. It was a beautiful location, but "a beautiful place to be stranded" is not the same as "the vacation we paid for." The mechanical failure was frustrating, but management's lack of communication was the real disappointment. When my boyfriend called the marina while arranging the tow, the manager told him to contact TowBoatUS and ended the call. There was no apology, offer of help, or even a basic question about whether our family was safe. Later, two Holly Bluff employees came out to place registration stickers on the houseboat and johnboat. Although we told them we were stranded, no one asked whether we needed supplies. Because no one checked on us, my boyfriend and one of our boys had to make a long trip by johnboat just to purchase ice. We would have gladly paid Holly Bluff to bring it during their visit. We did not expect room service on the river; we expected reasonable assistance after their rental equipment became inoperable. TowBoatUS brought us back on Sunday and was communicative and extremely helpful. The Holly Bluff employees who greeted us were also kind and empathetic. We were told a manager would call Monday, but no one contacted us until Tuesday. Management offered a fuel refund and a $250 credit toward another trip (its also a coupon on their website currently). We appreciate the fuel refund, but fuel was not the issue. We paid for a weeklong experience that would allow us to travel and explore. Instead, the boat became inoperable on the second day, we remained in one location for the rest of the trip, and management never contacted us to check on our safety or basic needs. A $250 credit toward spending more money with the company did not adequately address the experience we lost. Our family still had fun because we made the best of the situation. Silver Glen was beautiful, and TowBoatUS was excellent. Mechanical problems happen, and we never expected perfection. We did expect communication, concern, reasonable assistance, and an appropriate resolution. Holly Bluff's frontline employees deserve recognition, but management left us feeling that once the boat left the marina, so did the company's responsibility for its guests.

This is a great location on the river but I felt it would be a little challenging for their first outing and honestly I had no intention of putting my 40' motorhome in this situation with its shallow and tightly spaced sites. The park is filled with lots of permanent residents and long stay RVer's if someone is interested in long term camping it may be okay but since we were only looking for a few days I don't feel this would be the best experience and with his inexperience it could be a little risky with all the trees with long hanging branches, tight turns and narrow sites especially since there weren't any sites close enough together for our two rigs. Unfortunately this didn't work out for us but I do see how many would enjoy this RV / Marina community nestled along the river, it's probably a great place for a tag along to park long term for weekend camping but I'd be hesitant to bring in a big rig...
