I don't give 5 stars easily - and here is why I am giving this one - Brad (the owner/operator)! My sister is visiting from Michigan and I wanted to take her for a pizza lunch. My husband was able to join us on a long lunch break. We have been to Pier 49 before, but this was my sister's first experience. We decided to try out the Draper location because after several bad service experiences we had decided not to revisit our nearest location. Upon entering we noticed that it was clean and inviting. The man at the ordering counter greeted us immediately. He asked if we had been in before and upon hearing that we had traveled specifically to visit this location he went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. This was Brad! He was patient as we figured out if we wanted to do the lunch special or order off menu. Then he offered us a free sample of "Brad"sticks because they are unique to this location. There was also a salad bar that we decided not to try this time. Neither of which we had seen at our local Pier 49. We ended up ordering cheesy breadsticks and a Full House with double Cable Car, Treasure Island, and 49er. (If you are unfamiliar with Pier 49 - all of the pizzas have a San Fransisco themed name). We sat down and Brad brought our free sample with marinara, ranch, and garlic butter. The breadsticks were very tasty but dipped in the garlic butter - wow! The cheesy sticks were also tasty and the pizza was great. My sister was super impressed. I was looking forward to the Treasure Island and I was not disappointed. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful. My husband tried a slice too (his first try) and stole some of my tomatoes. The crust is perfect with a really nice texture. The toppings were quality and nicely seasoned. Honestly, the food was great and I expected that, but the service puts this location over the top. I am on a quest to find good/great and preferably non-chain restaurants in my adopted state but I make exceptions when I find a chain that makes me happy. Pier 49 is one of my exceptions and the Draper location will now be my go-to, even if it is double the drive time. Thanks Brad!! read more

I ordered a large Margherita pizza which is fairly basic, olive oil, cheese, diced tomatoes and chopped basil...the pizza I received was cheese and sliced tomatoes, the most flavorless and at $25 the most overpriced pizza I've had. I was told they use dried basil (Blasphemy) there wasn't a remote hint of olive oil, the crust was dry and not sourdough. I came here because of the Google reviews. Cheers to the management (Owner) for taking the pizza back and giving me a refund (I ate 1 slice) I didn't know this was a franchise, the pizza is on par with a Domino's. The cheese bread was just okay though, which was surprising and I actually didn't like the dipping marinara at all which was also weird. I definitely want to go back and try the tourist. He gave us the food in boxes and kicked us out of the restaurant because they had closed. Awful service! We ordered pizzas for 9 people to eat inside the restaurant and they were so slow making our pizzas that they boxed them and told us we had to leave because they were closing. I've never heard of such a thing! This is the service one gets when the owner is not actively involved in running the business, but instead, a couple of teenagers. Can I just tell you that my mouth was watering all the way home. The aroma of garlic, onion, chicken and barbecue sauce was enough to bring a tear to a glass eye. Mama Mia the bread twists..... the best I've ever had and they're generous with their dipping sauce. This place is buzzing and the owner is in the kitchen working along side his crew. Haven't ordered from Pier 1 pizza in probably over a year so thought we would give it another try. Ordered 2 thin crust pizzas, Trolley square and a margherita. The trolley square was good but the margherita was a cheese pizza with diced tomatoes. Not satisfying for an $18 pizza. Stopped in here for lunch and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Food and service were easily 4 stars, however the overall atmosphere isn't quite up to par, but it's just dated. Tables were clean when we came in and it's not dirty by any means, just older. The bathrooms were old but they keep it as clean as they can. We got a regular size pizza, half cheese and half Lombard street, which is their version of bbq chicken. It was good! The crust is doughy but not too thick, and they don't skimp on the cheese. I thought the chicken was perfect for the pizza and the bbq sauce was great. The man at the counter who took our order was nice and brought our pizza out to us when it was done, and a really nice woman cleaned our table off for us and made sure we liked it. We placed an order online, so my review is solely based upon the pizza alone, not the restaurant! First, the pizza arrived within the hour and was hot and fresh. The online ordering through the slice app was very easy and straightforward. I'm from the Midwest, used to having a lot of pizza in Chicago, so I'm pretty damn picky! The pizza here did not disappoint. They certainly did not skimp out on the toppings, in addition to them being fresh and great-tasting. I've never had sourdough crust before, so maybe this is how it's supposed to be, but I felt it needed to be cooked longer. When picking up a slice, it basically flopped over and the toppings fell off. We absolutely will order again, requesting a few minutes extra on the baking time for a crispier crust! read more

Yo!! Please let me have some of those breadsticks!!! I'm not sure when exactly the twists were introduced. Usually when I go to Pier 49, I'm there for the lunch buffet but in difficult times, we must pivot! I wanted to specifically call attention to these twisty breadsticks because they shouldn't be a secret. These breadsticks are so good, I've ordered only the breadsticks and they hook you up with dipping sauces. I didn't even need to ask, it was great. When I bring these home, of course I'm excited but I also get a look of respect deep in my children's eyes letting me know that I've done something very right. I'm not sure how it is today exactly but I've ordered and picked up several times in the April/May 2020 pandemic and these guys' curbside experience is great. It's so great in fact, if they considered keeping it going I certainly wouldn't complain! I do look forward to the day when I can go for the lunch special again. I came in for the lunch special with a friend. There seemed to only be one kid working. He was friendly enough. They weren't busy, which sort of scared me. I feel like if a place is decent, they'll be busy at lunch. Especially when you're coming in for a "slice" special. You hope it's busy so the pizza is fresh and hasn't been sitting in the warmer for who knows how long. Bonus: it was quiet and really clean. So we got the salad, slice, and drink special, which is a pretty awesome deal. It actually may have even been worth it just for the salad. I was surprised by the quality and size of it (olive warning: I hate olives and should've asked for the salad without them). It was really fresh. I got a slice of Hawaiian pizza which was just OK. Ironic that the salad would be better than the pizza at a pizza place. But it was pretty lukewarm, and just not that great overall. If I remember right, they have Pepsi products, which aren't my favorite. So I told him to keep my drink cup and drank my own Coke Zero. Although the salad was good, I'm not sure I'd come back for a lunch special. I might have a slice if my office orders a full size pizza, but that's it. read more

Way stoked on this place! I am a pizza snob and this place did not disappoint! The pizza was made fresh and ready to go in about 15 minutes. They have good child size portion pizza's too for a decent price. The staff at this particular location, at the time I went, appeared to all be High School aged, which worried me, but the facility was clean and the service was good. I'll absolutely come back! I would give this place zero stars! the owner tried to refuse my service dog and I from coming in. when I tried to politely educate the "owner" on the laws he then continues to ask out loud if everyone was okay with my dog being in the restaurant. everyone said it was okay but he continued to fuss, I ordered my pizza and then he came up to me again and bend down and came close to my face and told me yet again that he's the owner and can kick us out if he so pleases. The owners main excuse was a health code violation even though he had water mold ceiling tiles, the cooks were not wearing hair nets or gloves and it looked like the appliances used were not clean. Pizza is great! Downside is you call and the phone line is off the hook or they put you on hold for a long time. (I was on hold for 18 minutes tonight so I hung up, called back and they asked me again if they could put me on hold.) If you don't mind waiting the pizza doesn't disappoint, otherwise it's best to just drive and order in person. read more
