I absolutely love stopping by Pier57 whenever im in Chelsea. It's great for a quick bite or drink at one of the several restaurants and cafes. Or just as a place to relax and take in the awesome view of downtown from the rooftop. If you haven seen it yet I recommend adding it to your list, one of the best free spots to catch the sunset. And if the weather is not cooperating there are still plenty of areas inside to sit, relax or get some work done. read more

Found some of the dining establishments to be expensive while others are within budget. The living room and gathering place houses comfortable chairs and community area with an interactive discovery tank. Take the elevator to the rooftop Level- It's a 2 acre outdoor rooftop park. However, the plan got nixed in 2017 due to logistics and financial problems. Enter Google and James Beard Foundation. Today the pier is home to City Winery, Several Food Eateries and event spaces on the vast two acre expanse on the Hudson River with gorgeous views. There are a few public gathering areas with views adjacent to Little Island to its south. It's worth the hike out far west and a great addition to the environs of Chelsea Market and the High Line. We came here early on a snowy morning. The rooftop was closed, so we couldn't experience it. However, you could see nice views of the Little Island. The place is huge and the food court looked like it had a variety of options. Indoor, they had a nice little seating and play area with some park swings. read more

The Biggie Tribute was fun.. despite lacking more content. There was an issue with the seating arrangements. The balcony seating was downgraded even tho they said it was an upgrade. Despite this the finger food was ok. The beef skewers were bland unfortunately but the wings were a hit. The band was scheduled for only two hours and didn't get to play some of BIGs other hits. The guy who was rapping his songs looked dressed more like P.M Dawn that Biggie which would have made it More entertaining he was .. Overall I had a good time ... the Pinot Noir reserve was a standout! read more

Bit of a hidden gem! I think the Pier 57 market is a little bit less well-known than some of the other food markets, but this spot is super underrated (if a bit smaller). One of the nicer spaces in the city to drop by for a break when in the area. Compared to when I wrote my previous review and when I first checked this place out a couple years ago, this spot is no longer a secret. The food court now has a few different restaurant stands than they used to, though still more than a dozen options and surely something to satisfy everyone. It's less frenetic than Chelsea Markets, and the public rooftop park access is a bonus. The outdoor spaces are less packed compared to the neighboring Little Island, though still a lot of people on a nice sunny day. Tons of people taking a stroll or run in the area. Overall quite clean though the furniture is seeing some wear. I'm glad to see that the second Bird & Branch location is still going strong here, I am a big fan of their first location in Hell's Kitchen--they aren't just a cafe that serves terrific coffee, they are a local husband and wife team that run their business with a community purpose. Pier 57 has been refurbished into a multi space location, kind of similar to the nearby Chelsea market, but it's much bigger, higher ceilings, more natural light and views from from the roof are outstanding. I came here for the rooftop views but I was amazed by how cleaned the place is and what this old building became after renovations . There are a god number of back to back restaurants, different kinds of food, great open spaces to just sear back and enjoy the views. All in all, I loved everything from it and will be returning for sure. Did I say the views from the rooftop of the island and lower Manhattan are to die for? Yes, they are. Bring your camera, grab a beer or a glass of wine, sip and enjoy the view. read more

This is another great addition to the West Side waterfront. Pier 57 has City Winery plus a large food court with a fairly-priced variety of popular foods. It's a great space, some indoor and some outdoor, and you can enjoy anything from full dinner to a casual cup of coffee. Enjoy it now, as it doesn't yet have the Chelsea Market sized crowds. This area of NYC is really quite nice but the weather can be harsh after November. read more

Pier 57 is such a great addition to the city. Spend an afternoon doing a mini food tour and grab a couple of drinks while you're there. Then walk over to Little Island to explore and enjoy the views. One of the best ways to spend an afternoon in the city is doing a little tour of the West Side Highway. Make sure to add some more stops along your route! read more

My friend and I finally checked this spot out after passing it many times. We walked in and headed straight to the rooftop where the bus are beautiful. It was a hot summer so we got seats in the shade and just relaxed and enjoyed our city gorgeous skyline. There were a lot of people coming and going. There's plenty of space for you to enjoy without others crowding you. The elevator took us to the main roof top then we realized there was an upper level where you had to walk the stairs for a higher view. We took some pictures and chilled before we went downstairs to the food court for lunch. The day was hot and muggy so it felt great being inside the cool air conditioned food court. They have several food options you can choose from like Indian, Jamaican, Mexican, Korean along with dessert spots. I didn't realize the food court was considered "Market 57." Initially we were going to eat outside and enjoy our food looking at the views. However, that sun and humidity said uh uh. lol so back inside we went. We had to look for seats because it was pretty crowded but found some within a few minutes. read more

It is worth going to this pier park. Amazing how they transformed the place to a well visited site. The building has a star rated winery, food hall, recreation spaces, office spots, rooftop park and great view of Hudson River. Location is convenient to transportation, in the heart of famous Chelsea area and has great views of LES and Jersey. The pier is next to one of the city's tourist attractions Little Island. We stayed for sunset and was unforgettable summer get together with my girlfriends. Will always put in my heart to return if given an opportunity. read more

I visited here when I had a show at City Winery, which is on Pier 57. Home to Little Island, a lot of outdoor shows and events. There is a public rooftop garden. Lots of shops. A dining hall. As I mentioned, City Winery, where you can buy wine, have cocktails, see a show, have brunch or a light meal. The rooftop park has great views of the water, the city skyline, and a cool alternative view of Little Island. It's also where the Titanic was originally supposed to arrive. The pier gate (in my photos) is still there! A dog friendly space, a place for runners, bikers, skateboarders, or to just sit and enjoy one of New York's many public spaces. I don't spend a ton of time in Chelsea, but this is a wonderful, worthwhile spot to spend an afternoon or the whole day. read more

Recently attended an event at this location. They have a very extensive food court. We were able to find something for everyone. They also have a rooftop, didn't get a chance to check it out as the weather wasn't the best. Plenty of seating around the location and clean bathrooms! Not as crowded, maybe due to the time that I came or the weather. They have a lovely flower art installation in the middle that is very picturesque. read more

Great free public space that has lots of food options and seating throughout. Expect to pay about $15-20 for meals, $4 for soft drinks and $10 for beers...on par with similar places like this. The Pier also offers some amazing views of Hudson Yards to the North and Little Island and the Freedom Tower to the South. The views are even better on their rooftop park...also free and open to the public until 1am. Accessible by stairs or elevator. Most food stands open until about 8am, but the Pier itself is open until 1am. Clean bathrooms. Very close to both Little Island and the Chelsea Market...very convenient include this in a daytrip to this area and visit all three places. They are all free to enter. read more

Came here a few times for events and it's a great space to walk around and or even work or get together with friends. They have a nice rooftop view of Little Island and it was just really peaceful enjoying the view and the water from up there and down on the pier. I was with my little guy and he had a blast running around, climbing the stairs all the way to the top. The views are wonderful, it's clean, they have clean restrooms and if you're hungry they have lots of food options here. Just make sure to wear your sunscreen and keep long hair back since it does get windy and will be bright on a warm day. If I lived closer, this would be my regular happy place away from home. Really enjoy the concept of this space! Not only is there a food court featuring various cuisines, but also conference/rooms for meetings and a beautiful roof top area! The rooftop area is my fav. It provides beautiful views of the Hudson River, Chelsea area/west side, and parts of NJ. Perf for showing friends/family around when they visit! It's free and has 2 levels. I can totally see hangouts or mini picnics happening here. Elevator/stair access was a little harder to find but can be access if you walk further into the building. The food area offers a wide range of options but be mindful that they have a little break between lunch and dinner rush. When I went around 430ish a lot of things weren't reopening until 5pm. The pier building also has a bunch of tables with plugs that I can see people doing work/meeting up here. Would be very cool to attend a conference here! read more

This food hall is a must visit! Upon entering the market area you just see all these vendors with all sorts of cuisine! There's Korean, Japanese, India, seafood, wine, beer and much more, you're sure to find something for everyone! With all these food choices this would be a great place for a mukbang. It does get kind of crowded but when I went it wasn't too difficult finding seating with a small group. I also recommend taking your food to the rooftop park when the weather is nice! If you're planning to visit Pier 57, I suggest stopping by the Little Island either before or after indulging in all the good food Pier 57 Market has to offer. I visited this area for a hybrid Toastmasters Club meeting in Oyster classroom. When I got to Pier 57, I thought it would be easy to find but I had to ask around to find out. Pier 57 itself is a nice place filled with little restaurants, shops, and conference rooms/ classrooms. It's very close to the Little Island. A nice pier is next to the little island and Highline, and there is a nice-sized food court. I heard about this place about a month ago, and we were in NYC, so we decided to stop by. It's open to the public. They have a good food court with all kinds of drinks and food on the 1st floor and an open-top park on the 2nd floor. Nice view of the Hudson River. I enjoyed stopping here. I tried dumplings from one of the restaurants in the food court, and we liked them. Will visit again. read more

Food court meets community space. The food court is Market 57, an overpriced hipster food hall curated by James Beard, the Dean of American cookery who paved the way for celebrity chefs. Anchored by the massive City Winery (also a venue), spots include Ammi (homestyle Indian), Bissou (Japanese), Bird & Branch (specialty coffee), Due Madri (Italian), the Galley (seafood), Harlem Hops (Craft Beer), Honey Bunny (Chicken & Biscuits), Local Roots (Chinese snacks), Lolo's on the Water (Island BBQ), Mijo (Mexican), Mother Shuckers (Cajun Raw Bar), Nom-Wah (Dim Sum), Sahadi's (Mediterranean), and Zaab Zaab (Thai). It's basically a food truck event without the trucks. The community space has classrooms for culinary, recreational, and educational uses. "The Living Room" with views of the Hudson is surprisingly is open until 1am. Rooftop Park is...well, the name gives it away... a park on the rooftop. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Pier 57 was built in 1907 for shipping and storage, leased to the chemical conglomerate Grace Line in 1939, it was lit in 1947 (literally), reconstructed and reopened in 1954, winning the Architectural League of New York's Gold Medal in Engineering (or an "ALNYGME") for this innovative design in 1955, and used as a bus terminal in 1971-2003. Vacated in 2004, the RNC used it as a detention center for about 1500 protesters, earning the nickname Guantanamo on the Hudson. That part is not on their website. You want the truth? Had a nice outing at Pier 57 today! Walking to Pier 57, you get a nice view of the Hudson River, as well as NJ. Inside the building, there is a Market consisting of several different food vendors you could choose from (Italian, American, Asian, etc). They also have a winery inside. On the top floor, there's an open rooftop where you can enjoy some beautiful scenic views. The rooftop platform is very big with lots of benches to sit on. Some are in the shade, while others are not. Overall, this is a great spot for tourists and new yorkers to check out if they want to enjoy some good food with a nice view. read more

I always find myself at Pier 57 after a run on the westside for several reasons: 1. They have clean restrooms 2. They have food and drinks in the food hall in case you're hungry or parched after your run 3. They have a STUNNING rooftop that overlooks Little Island, FiDi, and the Hudson River. 4. It's warm inside and with the temperatures falling lower and lower, I could always use a cozy respite.
