Pier Cleaners is obviously focused on convenience at all hours, but the actual service offered is a truly disappointing experience. I submitted a shirt and pants for cleaning and mending, respectively, and left a note specifying the services I needed for each item. I picked up the shirt with no issues, but when I returned for the pants, I was charged a fee for dry cleaning on top of the mending -- although I had not specified a desire for this service. The automated system used by Pier Cleaners wouldn't allow me to pick up my pants without paying for a service I hadn't even requested. Nobody was available on-site to assist with customer service, and the person I spoke with told me she would "pass along a note". Three days later, I still have not been contacted. I also reached out on their website contact to inform them of my issue. Management obviously has no problems with contacting me via text/email multiple times to leave a review, but apparently they can't be bothered to get back to me. It's an automated service made for convenience. However, if something goes wrong, it seems you're own your own. Use Pier Cleaners at your own risk. read more

Don't use this place, I dropped off 4 items and they only returned two. When I called they didn't respond until they opened the next day, I was at work just moved here for military, told me anyone could walk in and grab it off the rack in lobby (open to public) at any time so someone could just walk in and steal it instead of creating a new order and letting me get it normally after work hours. If I could give them zero stars I would. I dropped off a dress for a wedding I was going to, it had stains on it. When I picked it up there was one stain still and a run in the satin fabric (which was not there before). The woman in the back was very nice and said they can take another look at the stain and send it to Wakefield so they could fix the run. I thought this meant they were going to fix free of charge since they ruined it in the first place but when I picked up the dress I had to pay AND the stain was still there. The run magically was gone BUT the drawstring slit had 2 strings and one was completely pulled out and hanging from the hanger. I also assume they ironed the dress although they didn't do a good job as the imprint from the back was now on the front so thank you so much Pier Cleaners, A++ work of ruining my dress that I can't wear again unless I go somewhere else and have them fix what you did. I did sign the waiver so you could work on it (even though you're the ones that ruined it to begin with) but no accountability for their actions is insane. They also lost my husband's wedding shirt and said they are not responsible for lost items (also in the waiver) but how are they not responsible? We are literally dropping our items off with you and expect you to do what you need to do (correctly) and RETURN IT. simple as that. I need my dress shirts laundered for when I travel for work. Because it is easier to travel when they are folded, I always ask for them this way. Somehow Pier Cleaners repeatedly can't seem to get this right. This time I dropped off four shirts and asked for folded and no starch. I get one shirt folded and the other three on hangers. Why? That makes no f-ing sense. Of course the whole place is automated, so no one works there to complain to or fix it. I'll have to go back to have them make it right, but they don't post the hours of when someone is there, so it's likely to be several trips back. In the meantime I travel in two days and won't be able to get over there before I go. They literally have one job and manage to screw that up. And with no competition, my only option is to drive 20 minutes to find another cleaners. read more

When I called to discuss they said "come in and we'll see what we can do" I wasted another trip there and they tell me the dress is not cleanable?!? They were not helpful or professional. I recently dropped off 3 pieces of clothing (2 pants, 1 shirt) nothing crazy on a Saturday. The idea was to have everything back for a trip the coming Thursday. Their automated system had two choices standard which was to be ready for Wed or add 25% to get it by Tues. I opted for the express option and pay the difference (not knowing what that would be as the system doesn't show the pricing") to be safe. Tuesday came and went with no text message that the items were ready. I called and spoke to an employee who showed little to no interest but indicated that the pants were ready but the shirt wasn't yet and should be tomorrow. When I brought up the additional 25% fee she at first tried to get away with waiving it for just the shirt, despite not hearing a peep from them on any of it. Wed came and went and no shirt. The shirt was not ready until the Saturday of that week! I will never use this place again. Consider yourselves warned. read more

Customer service the woman owner is rude. Customer service starts at the top. The clothes were cleaned fine, however we have never returned.

I dropped off a few suits to be cleaned. One was a blue suit I purchased for my son's wedding. I had worn it only a few times. I had it cleaned before his graduation from residency. When I arrived in NYC for the ceremony I discovered the suit coat was all puckered. I could not wear it. Thankfully I had another jacket. When I called about it I was told it was because the suit was not well made, and it was not their problem. Then I was sent an article about the issue of liners separating from fabric because suits are cheaply made. This was not a cheap suit- I paid good money for it. Another cleaner said it was pressed with heat too high. ( the suit had been cleaned before at a different cleaner with no issues.) After a bit more research I contacted another cleaner who said they would try to fix it. They did. The "cheap" suit has been restored and looks good- a far cry from what I was told. I'll never return to Piers. I'm totally fine with people making mistakes. I'm not fine with no attempts to rectify them. read more

They did it again! I turned in a brand new shirt, never worn with no stains, for dry cleaning, and somehow these people still manage to get it back to me with stains on one of the cuffs. I am done! Will no longer use this venue. read more

Terrible service! I will never do business with pier cleaners again! They were not able to remove a tomato stain from my cotton slacks and very rudely refused to discuss any other options. I have been a customer for years. I was able to remove the stain at home using mild dishwashing detergent. I will use a competitor for all my future cleaning needs! read more

Absurdly overpriced. I was charged $6 for a slip that was attached to a dress to be cleaned. Prices are randomly assigned based on "designer". Was charged $25 to clean a dress that cost me $40 because it was Calvin Klein. While a more detailed lace design cost less because it was a no name. You would be better off cleaning your items at home, because if you mess up you could repurchase the item for the cost it would cost to be cleaned at this establishment!! read more

This place has ruined my holiday dress prior to me ever wearing it (brought it in to get it pressed/cleaned) and they never apologized for what I went through. It took them 4 weeks to resolve the issue and they refused to compensate me until I kept calling every week. The Asst. Manager Donna was rude and dishonest. First she told me it was stained, then she told me it the fabric bled when I told her it was never worn. When asked where my dress was she could not provide an answer. When asked to speak to the owner she refused to give me his contact information. She insisted she would speak to him and get back to me. She told me she would call me every week and did not follow through even once. Failed to initiate any resolution and take responsibility, be honest about what transpired and offer to make me whole. Their behavior was so unprofessional and appalling! If I treated my customers this way, I would not have any! The situation was completely mishandled from the beginning. Mistakes happen all the time. It's HOW you handle them that counts. Apologize and make the customer whole. It's that simple folks! The owner finally called me after a month went by to inform me the dress was defective and he ordered me a new one. I had already ordered a replacement dress since my holiday event already took place and I couldn't wait for them to compensate me. I will be returning the dress to get my refund since they refused to do so. The girls who work in the Westerly store are very nice. However, the owner, Bill Fish, and Asst. Manager Donna are completely useless and need a lesson on customer service. I hope you don't have this happen to you as you will not be treated with respect or be compensated appropriately unless you call them every week and hound them to do the right thing. Do not go to this laundry matt! I was a loyal customer untill now. They not only managed to loose an entire set of queen size bedding and expensive jeans . Easily over a hundred dollars worth of stuff . They dont even seem to care , im especially upset because according to the they only did three loads of laundry that day . How do manage to screw up so badly and not seem to care . I would be fired in a heartbeat for a screw up like that . Either do your own laundry or avoid them at all cost . I would actually give Pier Cleaners less than one star. I had two bad experiences- the first was that two of my best cashmere sweaters were ruined by the process that was used to clean the sweaters. I decided to give them another chance because there are limited choices in this area for dry cleaning. Well, the process that was utilized shrunk a very expensive dress. Having had a bad experience with another dry cleaner in Westerly, I went to Pier cleaners. I can't believe there isn't a cleaner in Westerly that knows how to dry clean. I brought in two pairs of slacks, a blouse and a silk sweater. The slacks were poorly pressed but the blouse looked like they took it from the washing machine to the hanger. The sweater was a $150.00 that came back with a hole and it also looked like it came from the machine to the hanger. When I brought it back, they said that that was the best they could do & couldn't return my money; I would have to go to their main store in Wakefield. Ironically, I received a letter today thanking me for trying their service. I promptly called and they apologized and said to bring it back to be redone. I don't think so! read more

I do my laundry here every week. The place is consistently clean and while the owner is not there 24/7 either he or his family is in and out regularly. The owner will address any problem that a customer has and makes sure the customer is happy. I'm not sure when Josh was in but his review is inaccurate with what I see each week. read more

Don't even waste your time or your hard earned money because apparently they don't truly care about their customers. I recently brought in two dresses to have hemmed for a event a month away. I was told the tailor wasn't in house and they outsource to someone else. No one could assist me with figuring out how the dress fell and how much to have hemmed. That should've been the first red flag. Next the woman told me it would take 3 weeks to be completed. When it was done I brought the dresses home to try on to only notice that one was only 1/2 done with a hem nearly 5 inches longer than the other side of the dress...completely noticeable to the naked eye. I came right back to the store only to be met with blatant indifference for this error. She told me with a stone face and zero apologies that it would take another 3 weeks to fix. 3 additonal weeks to the 3 they already had to hem a simple hemline ?! Never once did they offer any compromise or solution for this mistake. I walked out and right into another cleaners; 5 days later my dress was fixed but now I've spent additional money to fix something I've already spent money on. I sent an email to the company to address my frustrations and surprise a week later and zero follow up. It was clean, there were people working there, and everything went smoothly. So maybe the experience in the summer when they get a lot of business is different from the off season?
