She does a lot of bird paintings and tattoos which are gorgeous! I'll be honest and say that the email communication was very slow and I didn't know until two days prior that my appointment was confirmed, which was frustrating but everything else was amazing! When I told her my idea, she did 9 line drawings for me to look at and when I chose my favorite, she did 6 different color options. After selecting my favorite, she was more than happy to make the colors a bit more rich to satisfy me. The actual shop is located in Gordon Square area above Blazing Saddles bike shop. It is beautiful, clean, and full of art and plants! Shawna was awesome and my tattoo turned out absolutely gorgeous!

Amber was pleasant and conversational during the quick 45 min or so service. I must mention however that this was our third time scheduling in order to get this done. The original appointment was canceled a few hours before its time on a Saturday due to Amber having a flat tire. No problem. We rescheduled for the next day- Sunday at 9am. I moved some things around and went to the closed shop at 9am on Sunday and no one showed up. I politely texted and called once but got zero answer at all the entire day as to this no show. I politely called the next day, Monday, and although there was no apology or explanation for her no show at the appointment, we arranged for the appointment to be Wednesday afternoon. I showed up at the time we agreed upon and the service went without a hitch. It was $30 for the deposit and $45 for the rest of the service totaling $75 without tip. No physical cards accepted but all of the electronic payment forms are accepted. Other than the scheduling issues, I am happy with the service. I wasn't told not to wear anything like sunscreen beforehand and only told during the service that I should not have as it reduces the ability of the tint to stick to the hair, so I think moving forward some pre-instructions as well as aftercare instructions would be nice to provide to clients. Overall, good technique but some improvements can be made regarding professionalism.

I had to cancel the night before my second appointment because I had been exposed to Covid by my fiancé; we'd been together all weekend and the entire day of the positive test. I reached out to reschedule as soon as we saw the test results. Amber was unconcerned and wrote that I could move my appointment if I was okay with losing my deposit--I might as well have been a no-show. Still, even with her lack of accommodation, I wouldn't risk the health of the aesthetician and the clients after me just to keep my deposit. That's dangerous and unethical. I'm concerned about their lack of protocol when it comes to Covid, especially with the new variants. Amber's blasé tone was as striking as her unwillingness to accommodate a client who reached out with health and safety concerns; it also raises red flags about their hygiene standards and sanitation. I'm appalled and grossed out. Not only did they forego the remainder of my fee because I'm now unwilling to reschedule knowing how dismissively they handle health concerns, they've also lost me as a client and gained a poor review for their lack of hygiene protocols. *Update* A day after I posted this review, Amber contacted me to refund my deposit. I sincerely appreciate this gesture and added a star to my review because of it. Still, their lack of Covid safety protocols and the fact that this was even an issue to begin with still gives me pause. The safety and wellbeing of clients and staff is paramount and, sadly, I don't see it reflected in their business practice. Thank goodness that I had the sense not to keep my appointment, as I tested positive for Covid this afternoon.

Had the most disappointing and rude service today at the Benefit Brow Bar. I inquired about if I…read moreneeded an appointment and the cosmetologist, Kelly, told me she could quickly get me in before her 12 o'clock appointment. This would only give her 15 min to do mine so I thought it would be okay. Kelly sat me down and began to draw the shape my eyebrows should be. She then began talking to another customer about their eyebrows and started trying products on them. Completely ignored the fact that she was preforming a service for me. The customer even said "oh I'll wait till your done with her", but Kelly continued to ignore me. Kelly was with this customer until 12 o'clock when I decided to leave because I no longer trusted her to do my brows. If you find yourself here getting your eyebrows...DO NOT get them done with Kelly. Absolutely rude and unprofessional behaviour.

The…read morestaff was extremely friendly, and they were very accommodating, However the nail tech, Dina, was the living embodiment IDGAF. First she sort of walked away before I told her what I wanted on my fingernails then I showed her a picture of the nails I wanted. She first said yes, and then told me my nails were too short, But that we could do it. Pedicure first and I was really hoping this would be the most disappointing part of the trip. As she didn't trim or shape my nails, and left a ring of the dark toenail polish I had been wearing around each individual toe along with the new nail polish and cuticle. The sugar scrub was nice, but only lasted a few seconds each leg. Apparently the calluses and dry skin on my feet were so bad that she needed to put an "extra chemical" in the water and have me soak them again before giving me some unsolicited advice on moisturizing before bed. AlLayer, after sort of slapping lotion onto my legs and feet, she put a hot towel over them and immediately slid it off. I'm not kidding. It was like she was trying to make a bed on my legs. She unfurled the top sheet, let it float down to my skin, and then tossed it up again leaving only the whisper of warmth behind. And all of this while I stared at the torn and tattered chairs surrounding us. Next, we went over for the manicure. No mask, because Diana is like honey badger, she used a handheld drill, covered in other people's nail dust to chip away at my old nail polish, my cuticles, and my dignity. Then, Dina brushed all of that away with a nail polish stained makeup brush covered in other people's nail dust. By this point I was unsurprised to find that her workstation was also covered in someone else's nail dust and had been since before I sat down, and even more chairs with holes and other damages. She then asked to see the inspiration picture again. Upon a second review, she said she could not do it, part of it was a sticker, real people can't make exact lines like that, and my nails were just too short. She then suggested instead of doing the whole set that we do just two nails and solid color on the others. After I agreed she told me again that she can't do it because my nails are too short. And told me basically to look up another picture to see if there was something else. By the end, I asked if we could do a French tip with coral and gold. Dina took her time and still managed to end up with nails that have actual lumps in them. I don't know how to make lumps on nails, maybe it's something you pick up as you go. In any case, nails being done, she put some moisturizer on my arms. I say it this way because again the lotion didn't get rubbed in and was immediately wiped off with another hot towel was draped over my arms. This time it was allowed to sit for a full five seconds. At the end of our adventure, Diana stood up and brushed my nail dust onto her workstation and left to take care of the instruments we'ed used. I left her a tip because I'm not a jerk and even Diana needs to eat. Then walked out knowing full well I won't be coming back, which is unfortunate because again, the staff WAS very nice.
