(Seven friends travel up the mountain from the city for a weekends getaway) After a long night the morning came along. We had the 1/3 burger and the western. They were both very filling and delicious. The meat is juicy not dry at all. The server her name was Andrea was sweet and attentive. They even have pads and tampons in the restroom for free if any ladies need some. Definitely coming here again! read more

This place is awesome! Some friends and I went on a little mountain bike trip down to Kernville and were told that we should stop to ride the trail in Camp Nelson on the way home. We were told that we should park one car at Pierpoint Bar & Grill and start about ten miles up the windy road (we were also told that you can often get someone from the bar to shuttle you up for $40 but can't confirm whether or not that is true). Anyway, I was the lucky one of the three of us that didn't need to drive to the top to retrieve the car that we had left behind after the ride, so I told my friends that I was going to have a beer at PB&G while I waited. So, I walked in and headed back to the bar and asked what they had on draught and was recommended the mango IPA. I'm kinda a beer snob (I live two blocks away from what is recognized as one of the top breweries in the world) and I don't normally like flavored beers, but I decided not to be rude and try the recommendation. Well, it turned out to be a great beer and my friends took a lot longer than expected to get back and one beer turned into four. It was as good of an IPA as you can get anywhere! When they got back I told them that we should eat there because the servers were really nice and it was a really quiet little town and I thought we should spend money with them after riding their pristine MTB trail. We didn't expect much from such an isolated little town but the food was amazing! All three of us had burgers and they were nice big patties on good buns and they came with homemade French fries or potato chips. We got both so that we could share and they were both excellent! Anyway, I got back to home to find that my Garmin bike computer was missing and I called the restaurant and they confirmed that I left it there. They ended up sending it to me and included a self addressed, stamped envelope and requested $5 to cover the cost. I sent them $11 so that they could buy themselves one of those awesome beers! I'll look forward to getting back there hopefully in the Spring or Fall when the temperatures and conditions are good for another MTB trip! Thanks PPB&G! read more

A lovely little roadside spot perfect for these COVID days. Good food, loved the pastrami on rye and the house made chips were the best. Outdoor seating (sunny or shaded) with prompt and courteous service. Cell service in the area is spotty, so the free wifi was really appreciated. read more

This is the most homey welcoming restaurant in the mountains that I have ever been to. When you first walk in they have the main restaurant part, to the right they also have a gift shop where they sell hoodies, hats, honey, etc. My friend who came with me decided we should get some food, we got the pita wrap because my friend is vegan. It had cucumber, hummus, lettuce and I can't remember what else but it was surprisingly sooooo good. Normally places like this don't have vegan options so I was very surprised. What a great place to stop, and it is so appropriately named. The service was excellent as was the food. Even with a limited menu there were good vegan choices and delicious burgers. The general store next door has a nice selection of convenience items and camping gear as well as touristy souvenirs. The shirts and hoodies make you want one. Definitely coming back. read more

We are staying in a local VRBO about a 12 min walk to the Pierpoint Bar and Grill. We stopped in for lunch and we weren't surprised by the amazing food and neighborly hospitality of the owners. If you're in the Sequoia National Forest and are on the 190 you have to stop here. The tri-tip sandwich was fantastic as well as the brisket sandwich. I have visited Pierpoint restaurant on many occasions since the new owners Tom and Mary reopened this prime location. The hospitality is great, the food is delicious-compliments to the chef Keith, Stacy the manager is always so welcoming and great to converse with while dining. The picturesque meadow view with deer feeding while having a tall cold beer on tap is the best! If you haven't made it up here to dine get ur butts in gear!! Also, they just opened up some hotel rooms that are newly renovated and a great place to stay overnite before a day of hiking, tubing, bbq'g, and rock climbing. Enjoy! read more

Friendliest staff and locals. My wife and I had the pleasure of camping nearby for five days and stopped in many times to both the restaurant and market. Food was delicious, beer super cold. Jst attended New Year's Eve dinner & party & had a blast!! Bacon wrapped steak was perfect! Thick, juicy steak, cooked perfectly, w/salad, bread & butter, mashed red potatoes & steamed asparagus. Drink prices @ bar were more than reasonable. Absolutely top notch customer service too! After dinner, enjoyed listening & dancing to Ken Norton & his very talented band. I had a great time here. My waitress Kassarah was such a kind and helpful girl. She was very attentive and we never had to wait if we needed something. The cook Taylor did a great job on our food. What a great place to spend New Year's Eve! Dinner was a salad, baked potato, green beans, and an enormous tomahawk steak, all of it delicious. (We took the leftovers home and made hash the next day.) Sometimes, when out-of-towners visit places like this, the locals can be stand-offish, but here everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The wine selection is good. The wait staff were running like crazy, and sometimes a tad overwhelmed, but they and the owners were always so nice and so happy to be having a good night, it really didn't matter. I have been coming to this area with my family for years and we were elated when this establishment reopened last spring as there are few places to eat up there. More choices are generally better than fewer. Our first trip was pretty disappointing, but I wrote it off as they were just starting out. Tried again a few months later and it was worse than the first time. Hour+ wait for under cooked chicken? No thank you. Pierpont Cafe is reopened and it is excellent! We stayed a week in Pierpont Springs and had breakfast (breakfast buffet on Sat & Sun), lunch, and dinner there. The food was excellent and they let us use their wifi for as long as we wanted! On Saturday they had live music, the staff was also very nice. So glad they opened. read more
