Could have been a better experience. Pierre strikes me as a strange man that has same some questionable things when speaking with him. This outlined a poor experience visiting his piano shop. I wanted to focus on the quality and understanding of the pianos but it seemed he'd rather talk about getting a "diddy casing" on a piano for me when I teach kids piano. This is incredibly distasteful and immature language. He should probably do a better job of controlling his tongue or be more direct if he has a problem with my visit instead of being passive aggressive. I've been to many piano stores, and this one is, by far, the best. Pierre is absolutely amazing and very personable. He didn't pressure me at all. He wanted me to choose the piano that feels the best for me regardless of my brand preference. I am not a professional player and for me, the feel and key action is the most important factor. Most digital pianos just feel too stiff and hard to play, but when you play a real grand piano it doesn't feel that way at all. I was searching for that same feel and after weeks of researching, watching YouTube videos, and test-playing every possible brand, I chose the Kawai CA-901. It feels the best and sounds amazing. This piano is gorgeous, on top of that. No ugly buttons, discreet touch display, and key action is as close to a real grand piano as it gets. It has Bluetooth 5 - the latest version, which is important to avoid any latency when connecting to iPad (I use iPad to learn songs with apps). This is a masterpiece. Peirre was very helpful. I was at his store a few times. He is an authorized dealer for Kawai, and I can tell you that price he gave me is by FAR better than anything you can find online (and I did call tens of stores, small and big, online to get a quote). His price was unbeatable (even when calculating no tax from out-of-state purchases). He also understood how indecisive I am and never got annoyed by it. I was there for an hour jumping from one piano to another than to acoustic pianos, so I can compare and find THE ONE. I will buy pianos only here from now on. Other stores had a used-car-salesman approach and that made me feel like I can't trust them. Pierre didn't care if I chose Casio, Kawai, Dexibell, or even a used piano. He just wanted me to be happy with what I chose. I rarely leave reviews, but I had to leave one for this store, since buying a piano can be very expensive and if you don't get what you really like, you will not enjoy and you won't play as often (which was my case with my older digital piano I had for years). Fantastic place to host music recitals! They are very accommodating. They help with the set up/clean up of chairs and tables for refreshments. The stage area has been upgraded- great backdrop. Pierre's a really nice guy. In addition, he has a great selection of pianos and is one of the few authorized Kawai dealer's in the LA region. I would suggest pay him a visit if you are shopping for a new Kawai, because he can help guide you to the right piano or he just might have a really good used alternative. I compared a few of the Kawai dealer's around and he had the best pricing, best service, and reasonable lead times. Post covid, stock has been tight, and some dealers might have in stock a piano and others may not. But I found that if he did not have a model in stock he was able to get it quicker than competing dealers. I assume this is because of volume status with Kawai, he seems to sell a good amount of Kawai's, and more than some other dealers. I wasn't really considering a used piano, but sometimes when the stars align and you find a used piano that is in great condition that has better value than a new one, you pull the trigger. One of the biggest advantages with Pierre's Fine Pianos is their wide selection of pianos - the full range of digitals (from inexpensive to high end), and acoustic uprights and grands (Steinways and Faziolis), all in one showroom. No high pressure sales pitch or tactics, just straight forward information delivered honestly and with integrity. He seems to sell a lot of pianos this way. As for me, I came into the store with a pretty good idea of what I wanted. I'd tried a Kawai K8 and that is what I had my heart set on. I did some internet searching for a digital piano and I was sure I was going to get a Yamaha. But since Pierre was so close I thought I'd demo a few before I made my decision final, and it was a good thing I did. He happened to have the Yamaha keyboard I was interested in, and I absolutely hated it. I tried a Kawaii, and I ended up purchasing the ES8 in white. Looks great in the tiny studio apartment; sounds and plays great too. Very satisfied with the customer service as well. I got to Pierre's store by accident. I was looking to buy used digital piano on Creg's list and decided to find a piano store just to go and see what is available, and get some suggestions what is better for me to buy. I looked online and Pierre's Fine Pianos is located very close to me. I stopped by and let me tell you how happy I am I did. Pierre is amazing! He is so nice and charming. He was so generous with his time and very patient answering all my questions. He explained to me everything what I wanted to know and more, showed me the pianos and difference between them. He wasn't pushing me to buy anything. I didn't want to pay a lot for the piano, it's why I was looking on Creg's list. I asked Pierre if he can offer me some kind of payment plan and he gladly gave it to me. I bought beautiful Yamaha piano, he gave me a bench for it and delivered it to me the next day. He provide warranty, always will fix if something brakes and you can trade your piano if you want a new one. The person who delivered the piano (I forgot his name) completed all the great experience I had with this store. Supper nice, helpful, told me about the concerts they have in the store and promised to call me for the next concert. Pierre called me after the piano was delivered to make sure I was happy and the piano arrived safely. Pierre's was referred to us by the manufacturer of an artist piano bench we were looking to replace for our Steinway piano. I researched and visited a couple of other vendors in the valley without success but as soon as I spoke to Pierre over the phone, I knew it was worth the drive. Pierre is so charming and knowledgeable about all things related to pianos. He personalizes his conversation to the level of understanding of the customer, very rare in any business. He never talks down to you but quietly educates. Unlike other piano stores, he doesn't determine if you are a serious buyer before entering in to a conversation. In our situation, he was the only piano store that actually had the bench we were looking for, a necessity for my husband to sit and feel the comfort. We bought a brand new Kawai at the lowest price here back in May. He beats the Korean-owned piano stores in LA and definitely the stores in the SF Valley. Pierre was nice to work with. He is direct and makes shopping for a new piano easy for a busy, working mother. I recommend him to all my friends. His piano tuner, Simon, was not so pleasant to work with (for scheduling) on the other hand. Fortunately, the employee he had sent to me was a good tuner.
