Sometimes an oldie is a goodie. Pierson is the big park on the other side of the train tracks right on the water. It's in front of a development that was Edge on the Hudson before there was Edge on the Hudson (so much for the hype there). Views of the Tappan Zee bridge and Hudson River are unavoidable which is a very good thing. Decent amount of walking paths and benches, in addition to the dedicated picnic area. Plenty of parking although it is paid via the Tarrytown parking app. Playgrounds are a bit dated but in great shape. Everything has soft, spongy ground around it. Good variety for different ages too. Haven't done the splash pad yet because it's winter but it is pretty sizable. Good amount of kids around here without it being overwhelming. Admission is Free but there is a cost for parking Our Experience: we enjoyed spending the afternoon outside on this gorgeous spring day walking along the river walk and playing on the playground. The walk was absolutely stunning and the boys enjoyed walking along the path, exploring the lookout area, seeing the boats in the water and the airplanes/helicopters in the sky. Hands down my favorite part of the day. The playground was adorable with two separate sections designed for kids of all ages. While the equipment was a bit outdated, I loved that it had that soft type ground underneath it to (sort of) pad a fall. Both boys really enjoyed their time there. There is a covered picnic area so feel free to bring food and drinks! There is also a restaurant right there in the park as well as walkable restaurants in the downtown area conveneintly located close by. It was a gorgeous spring day and there were ZERO crowds with only a handful of people walking the path and only one other family on the playground. I was shocked at how quiet it was but thrilled to have the place basically to ourselves. Will go back?: Absolutely YES! My favorite park in Westchester! I've been playing tennis here very often for the past year or so. The courts are amazing because they are isolated from trees. This is huge because there wouldn't be any fallen leaves sprawled around the courts! They're naturally clean! And of course, who can ignore this amazing view of the Hudson and Cuomo Bridge? Its an absolutely beautiful place to play a game you love in such a scenic environment. There are also basketball hoops right next to the tennis courts. However, the basketball has been closed due to the pandemic this year. The park is also conveniently close to Tarrytown's main street and shopping plaza, which is perfect for post-tennis meal. Pierson Park is my go-to park in all of Westchester county. Looking forward to coming here super often next spring through fall! read more

This park is perfectly awesome! There's plenty of space to picnic, layout or whatever outdoor activity your into. There's a pool, basketball courts, tennis courts and more. There's docs for your boat and a restaurant. It has everything you would expect from a park but the beautiful walkway and view of the bridge is what makes this park so great. read more

Great park. Visited here on a Sunday early evening to snap some pics of the New Tappan Zee Bridge (Mario M. Cuomo Bridge). I arrived at around 5:30 PM and was able to find parking by the Recreational Center. There were still a lot of people in the park and not many sparking spaces available. I would imagine that parking would become challenging earlier in the day, during the afternoon, particularly on the weekends. After parking I walked to the Southwestern most part of the park where there is a lot dock that offers amazing views of the bridge. On my walk there there I noticed many others enjoying the park. Kids were running around on the large grassy areas and playing in the play *jungle gym) areas. Lots of people jogging and walking their dogs as well. Lots of park benches there along the waterway. This is (seems like) a great place to relax and unwind with excellent views of the bridge and Hudson River. I would love to return soon to snap some more photos of the park itself during the daytime. No fee/charge to get into the park or the Recreation Center parking lot when I visited. read more

We had a picnic lunch at Pierson and couldn't have asked for a lovelier time. We had a great view of the bridge and the Hudson. The park was immaculate and we found a parking lot on premise. It's a perfect place to picnic. A lot of families with little children playing frisbee. I'd love to return during a different season and picnic again. read more

The water splash pad is nice for the younger kids and it's free! The bridge and waterfront make this park very relaxing to go to.

Nice park. We actually went here twice. Once was awesome and the 2nd time was nice as well even thou it rained. It's a nice playground there, views of the Hudson boats and even the city in the distant skyline. Across the street is the train station and very nice condos!!?? Very nice park on the other side of the train station. Came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a subtle breeze. There was ample parking spaces in the lot. As you walk from the parking lot towards the river, there is a huge grassy area where there was a wedding ceremony getting setup. Going left leads you to a playground area for kids, bbq picnic area, a dock with boats. Turning right goes down a pathway along the Hudson River. Very nice walk. Surrounded by new condo developments. There is a lighthouse at the very end, but I never made it there as it was lunchtime and my stomach was calling. Overall, very clean. Beautiful view. Shady areas and benches to relax. Great place to stroll around or relax on the small landscaped hills with a fabulous view of the bridge and Hudson River.

My friendly Yelper Gerardo A. told me that Tarrytown has one of the highest taxes in Westchester. I am glad I enjoyed seeing his taxes put to good use at Pierson Park. This beautiful park close to the Metro North Station and many of the riverside condos(or townhouses?) has glorious views of New Jersey, the river, and is a user friendly common area to chill. Families, singles, couples and pooches flock here in the evenings and weekends to enjoy the fresh air, and the view and to stroll along the Hudson River walk. Who needs tv when you can watch the setting sun and see the bridges and buildings across the river light up! The park is clean, safe, with ample seating and even a picnic area. Pierson Park hosts free concerts, and those high Tarrytown taxes mean good bands get signed up. The area is landscaped well, with enough grassy areas for people to bring their own chairs or blankets to lounge in front of the band shell. This is Tarrytown, not Central Park, and even with a crowd, you won't have to fight for that bit on the grassy knoll. There's room for many in this expansive park, which has tennis courts, a ball park, a playground for the kiddies. There's even a restaurant and a small market. During the concert, the day care center in the park was even open so we could use the bathrooms. Tarrytown, thanks for letting me enjoy your taxpayers' dollars at work! read more
