I would say the only reason this place gets at least a 3 star from me is the actual pizza (when made correctly and not burnt). My boyfriend and I have actually ate here once and ordered take out possibly a half dozen times. The issue I have with this place is the staff. Every time I call I sit on hold (multiple call backs), and when you call it's like you were the first person to ever call and ask for take out and you've completely caught them off guard. Now, we order take out for a reason. The first time we ate inside I was extremely disappointed with not just the staff but the food. My pizza was burnt, they missed our chip and salsa app (I know that was extremely difficult to remember and assemble) and our waitress completely ignored our table the ENTIRE TIME. She had never stopped once to check on drinks, food (that we were missing even after a reminder), extras, nothing. Period. Pies and PInts is great! We got our tires changed at Costco, so the hubby and I walked over to Pies and Pints while we waited. We ordered a couple of beers and a large delicious pizza! The tap list looks very extensive, however the first two beers I ordered were "kicked" so I had to have the bartender tell me what was actually available. There were quite a few beers on the menu that I would have liked to have that they were out of. Kind of disappointing for a place with "pints" in the name. I don't like my beer messed with :) I did, however, find something that I enjoyed. The pizza is really fantastic. We ordered a half and half specialty pizza. Half Thai and half Classic. The crust is crunchy, yet chewy and the toppings are plentiful, but not so much that the crust gives out on you. Reminiscent of New York style crust to me. It's really really good. I will definitely come back. Yesterday it was so nice that we considered sitting on the patio, but they had the garage doors to the patio open, so we sat at the bar and could still enjoy the fresh air. My husband has an onion intolerance and when our appetizer surprised us with scallions on top we asked if we misread on the menu. I love coming here! I know it sounds crazy but my favorite part of the meal here is the salad, we usually get a large so we have left over to take home with our left over pie. The creamy house dressing is amazing, unlike anything I have ever had before! The pies are always cooked perfectly, I have been here quite a lot since they opened and I've never had an overdone or burnt crust which frequently happens when you order pizza from other restaurants. Ok we walked in ....the food smelled really good... Atmosphere was OK nothing special... Ordered a low alcohol Stout on tap and it arrived in a barley wine glass which I was told is the normal glass for this restaurant... My problem is the menu says 12 ounces of beer and I received only eight... I then ordered a 12 ounce bottle of beer and poured it in the same glass (when the glass arrived there was an inch and a half of space from the top) I filled it to the very top with the beer and there were 2 ounces left in the bottle approximately so I received about 8 ounces and paid for 12 when I talked to the manager she said this was customary and that's the glass that they serve everyone 12 ounces of beer in.... when in fact the glass is only a 10 ounce glass if it's filled to the top of the rim....so everyone beware you're not getting what you're paying for... The owners of the company beware we are onto you!!!.... we also got three different stories from three different people... Our pizza was messed up... We ended up leaving. read more

We went to dinner with friends on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not very crowded. We placed our order and after what seemed to be a long wait, our friends were served their pizza. We were not served our pizza until our friends had finished theirs. To say that service was slow would be an understatement. Management apologized for the delay, offered no explanation. Since I was visibly upset , the manager offered to take the pizza off the bill. While I appreciate the offer, it will be a long time before I return, if I ever do. This is for the Easton location (haven't been to the Short North location). Ordered the rosemary & balsamic bread app with goat cheese...very good combination of flavors! We didn't order any of the "fancy" pizzas, but instead got one pizza pie with pepperoni and one with pepperoni and sausage. (I know that's not very adventurous, but I prefer to think we like to keep it classic!) Both were very good. The crust is nice and thin and crispy, and the sauce to cheese ratio was right on. Our first visit here and we definitely will be back. We started with an appetizer of chicken wings- they were different than you get elsewhere and absolutely delicious- well seasoned and juicy. Came here with a friend for the first time on Sunday and sat at the bar. The bartender, Jasmine was amazing. She knew all about their drinks and made great recommendations and had us laughing with her great sense of humor. the beer and the food were fantastic. This would have been a 4-5 star review but there was a miscommunication about doing a half and half pie and we ended with a whole pie that was all pine and swine. We really wanted to do half pepperoni and the other half pine and swine. When we brought it up to our waitress she tried to get us a small pepperoni pizza but the manager would only do a discount. After spending $8 on a appetizer and $24 dollars on the pizza I feel more should have been done to make the customer satisfied. Ate one slice and just didn't want to be there anymore. I received a gift card at Christmas from a friend who invited me to taste her favorite pizza. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, banana peppers and sausage ($22.50). The crust was paper thin and as hard as a rock, there was very little sauce, peppers or cheese and the sausage looked almost like pepper, that's how tiny it was. The service was stellar but that's not enough to make me ever return. People must go there for the beer because it certainly can't be the pizza. My husband and I stopped in recently on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. We have eaten there before and enjoyed our previous meals, we find it's a great place to stop in and get a quick drink or meal. This time I had the Cuban Pulled Pork sandwich and it was really tasty! It had just the right amount of heat, giving it a nice kick. My husband loves there wings, he said they were delicious as usual. Pies and Pints does not take reservations but you can call ahead and then check in with the hostess once you reach there. This way, you get seated faster. The place was packed on a Fri evening with lots of couples and big groups. The selection of beers was huge and some of the pizza's on the menu are different .Yeah, there are your average cheese, mushroom, veggies pizza's available but they got some different stuff to offer too. I would visit this place again only for the beers. You gotta have some patience in this place cuz it takes long ( 15-20 mns ) for even your appetizer to appear in front of you if the place is packed. In case you reach the place hungry, god save you. You will have to wait in your place chugging your beer and try not to cast hungry glances at your neighbor's pizza. You can order pizzas half n half which I love love love since my bf is a non vegetarian and I am a vegetarian. Following yelp reviews, we ordered the Chicken Gouda and black bean. A few months ago, around September, my fiance and I were sitting at the bar outside and saw the waitresses pour beer samples into little shot glasses. They were chit chatting and then took sips of the beer, then put them back down and then served the samples to the customers at their table. I could not believe it. This place is awesome! Food, atmosphere and service were great! We ordered the wings and nachos for an appetizer. The nachos were some of the best I've ever had. This was the first time I had pork on my nachos and blue and red tortilla chips. They were very cheesy, just as I like them. The wings were okay. They were smokey and char-grilled. I think they would have been better if they were cooked in some sort of sauce. The pizza was delicious. I got a pizza special with artichoke hearts, arugula and goat cheese and it was pretty good and even better the next day. My husband ordered sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, jalepeno and extra cheese pizza. They topped that pizza with a red sauce but it was oh so good.
