We had our SIL's 60th birthday party and the were more than capable to handle a party of 10 on a busy Saturday night. Wonderful food and the garlic rolls were dripping in butter and scrumptious. My wife had the Chicken Piccata and loved every bite. I had the spaghetti and meatballs ( which were the sizes of ) just like mama made at home. Stephanie our waitress was wonderful. The restaurant was packed but our orders all come out together with no effort at all. They do have a call waiting list which I highly recommend using on the weekends. We had a great date night dinner here on a Friday . I would recommend you call in to make a reservation ahead of time since it gets packed. For us it was a 25 min wait time. We were seated close to the bar and the ambiance was amazing. Our server was so thoughtful and kept an eye on our table occasionally stopping by to see if everything was alright. We started off with the mozzarella sticks and the free bread rolls. We got the medium pizza and do half and half bbq chicken and cheese. The food came out hot and crunchy. There is a group of 12 to 14 of us we meet once a month for dinner at a different restaurant. Tonight we had our happy hour that we've been having for 20 years at Piesanos at Hunter's Crossing. We were seated promptly because most of us arrived early since some of us travel from other counties north and south of Alachua county. Our server tonight was excellent. She got the drinks out in a very timely fashion, our food and rolls were out promptly. We all ate the same time. No one's meal did not come out after everybody else had been served like we've had in other restaurants. Piesanos is our schedule for a couple months out to have dinner there again. I came here to eat just for a quick bite without any expectations. However, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. To drink, I had a coke because a coke is a must for pizza like food. The server brought refill of coke without me asking, which I thought it was a nice gesture. The server also brought some complementary garlic rolls; but, they're not your typical garlic rolls. They had Italian dressing on it and it was delicious. As an entree, I had a Greek veggie calzone and it was huge, cheesy and delicious. I was able to only eat half of it. The server saw that I slowed down and offered to bring a box. When he brought the box, I asked for a small container to put the rest of the marinara sauce. He told me he already put some of the sauce inside the box. Not only was the food delicious but the server anticipated all of my needs. Went to Piesanos an hour before closing, which I usually don't do. As time when by, we came closer to the closing deadline. But, our waitress did not rush us at all even though we had a large party. Great service. Though the rolls were quit disappointing. All they did was put Italian dressing on top of bread rolls. I also had some spaghetti, which was delightful. The quantity of food is great and makes up for the price. I can't completely complain about the rolls since they were complementary. The food you pay for is good, which is what matters. First time trying this spot and couldn't have been happier. Firstly our server Cassie H was a joy and had a fun personality which is always nice to see. Our food came out decently quick considering it was 8 on a Friday and they were pretty slammed. All three of us loved the dishes we had, the portions were very generous and fairly priced. I decided to stop by as I was craving soup pizza. Upon arriving I was happy to see it was handicap accessible which I knew because this area is. Once inside the smell of food cooking was divine. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. The young lady was efficient and friendly. Once seated, the waitress took our drink order and gave us the specials. I was craving pizza but after hearing the soup of the day I went with soup and salad a wonderful choice on a cool day. Our drinks and a plate of their house rolls arrived quickly. The food followed quickly. Everything was fresh tasting and was delicious. The waitress was very good and kept our table clean of dirty dishes and our drink cups full. It was a wonderful meal. Well it had been a while since we ate here, and it was still as awesome as the first time, they are known for their pizzas, but we opted for a nice dinner style meal. They are also popular for their dinner rolls. The server Samantha was awesome we didn't have ask for refills at all. The food came out hot ,fresh, and tasted amazing!! Meh... It used to be my go to spot for Pizza near my house, but now not so much. 10 inch cauliflower pizza with a couple toppings is nearly $30. Last time I was there later, the waiter totally spaced our appetizer and blamed the kitchen and although the food runner told us he forgot to order it ‍ and yesterday I was asked to order for the office and saw that to drizzle hot honey on the pizza was $7.50, for honey! First and foremost the food is served to perfection, the pasta is cooked to absolute perfection every time, yes every time! Their pizza is on another level as well. The pizza sauce and pasta sauce is generously, sprinkled with magic and unicorn dust. It is absolutely perfect and well thought and well applied, but not too much. The Staff here is magical as well as they care about the customer needs and want to make a great experience. This is one of myLOCAL, go to places , and I often get four pepperoni, pizza , cauliflower crust, pizza, and of course, any of the pasta dishes. As many times have I been here, I have never seen an independent restaurant analysis going on. I have worked in the food industry for many years and never knew or even heard of getting an independent inspection. However, today, Kevin, the general manager of this restaurant, along with the kitchen manager, were dutifully following an independent food service inspection company. The inspector went through the kitchen, went to the bar, looked underneath the sinks, which was a surprise to me. Walk through the dining area. Even went into each of the bathrooms. This was a complete and thorough inspection. Pizano's Stone fired pizza Wants to provide the highest quality product and food. I have been impressed with the quality of food since coming here when they first opened this singular restaurant. I have been to several of their other restaurants and the quality and more importantly, the taste of the food has been consistent in ALL their restaurants. My opinion, any restaurant that is willing to pay for an independent inspection service to self regulate, and make certain that they provide the finest and safest quality food for their patrons., Deserves my highest recommendation. I give this restaurant a six out of five star review. They simply have the best dining experience, the best Staff to support that, and absolutely the best food as well. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the treatment my daughter and I received at Pisano's Stone Fired Pizza, located at 5200 NW 43rd St, Gainesville, FL, on the evening of October 3, 2025. We arrived around 8:30 PM and were told the wait time would be approximately 15-25 minutes. I provided my phone number for a text notification when our table was ready. As we waited, several other guests arrived after us and were added to the list. After 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told it would be another 15-25 minutes. My daughter has special needs, so I brought her inside to wait more comfortably. At that point, the manager, Brad, approached the two women managing the list and began calling names--every one of them had arrived after us. We had now been waiting for over an hour and a half. I asked the same two women when we would be seated. One of them said, "You've been here a long time, I'll just seat you," without calling our name or acknowledging our place on the list. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite standing next to an empty booth, we were led across the restaurant to a table by the bar, directly next to the kitchen door. This felt dismissive and degrading.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What made this experience especially painful was that we were the only African American guests in the restaurant that night. My daughter, who has special needs, was visibly uncomfortable. The way we were treated, ignored, delayed, and ultimately seated in a less desirable location, felt discriminatory and humiliating. It was deeply hurtful to be overlooked while others, all white, were seated promptly and respectfully. Manager Brad reviewed the list and continued calling guests who had arrived after us, even looking me in the eye with a smirk before stepping outside to call others. It appeared that certain guests were being prioritized, possibly even personally invited. As a minister and a mother, this experience brought me to tears. I've visited this restaurant before and was aware of its predominantly white clientele, but I never expected to be treated this way. We ended up leaving and going to Longhorn Steakhouse other side of town the street at 10:00 PM two hours after we first arrived. I remained calm throughout, but the emotional toll was heavy. What happened to us was not just unfair, it was deeply hurtful and unacceptable. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed and addressed. In have visited this location 1000s of times. Got drunk and had a great time (*wink*). Hung out with the staff of Publix (next door) at 3am and roomed with the cooks. The 90s were fun. We were traveling so weren't sure of a good spot for dinner. The three of us wanted 3 different things, and the menu for this place had that variety we needed, so we decided to try it out. It's a small, hole in the wall type place but when we walked in it smelled so good we weren't worried... food was great, service (Brant) was excellent and we would come back here again. Now, why would I drive all the way off the highway in Gainesville when I am just passing through????? Piesanos is why. Never had been but my wife said hey let's take a detour. So we turned left and made our way into G'ville. Located in a Publix plaza parking was a bit of a challenge....did I mention I was towing a trailer.....leave the trailer home no issues. We were seated right away...Hand sanitizer at the door. Alachua County has a mask mandate so we went in like we were ready to rob the place. Seated away from others and got to it. Ordered some hot rolls....wife wanted vinegar and oil on them..do not recommend it...but hey she liked it. Ordered up a breadstick order. It was eight sticks and some marinara...pretty tasty. The pizza came out a lot later than I would have thought.....about twenty minutes or so for a large and a personal size....they were worth the wait. Very flavorful and seeing as I was very hungry I dug in.....photo is of the remnants. We had pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. The sausage was the star. Son's pepperoni explosion actually was very visually underwhelming. I would have thought I would have been "wow look at all that pepperoni" but I was not impressed. He said it was tasty...but only ate two pieces...so not sure his review is to be believed. Gary was our waiter and he did an admirable job. My mother was in town and we were enjoying a bit of vacation time, and we decided to grab some pizza one night as we were not in the mood to cook. While there are a couple of different places that serve good pizza in town, Piezano's is one of the closer ones for us, and they have mussels on the menu which is always a plus in our book. We had to wait about five minutes at the front door on one of the benches there for a table to open up, but that wasn't a big deal. It was a Saturday night, so being a bit busy wasn't surprising. We ordered the mussels, of course... We see them so rarely on menus that they are always a go-to for us. The other item we ordered was a pizza, and we know that pizzas here are good. Ours was quite good, and it was big enough that we definitely had to take some of it home with us afterwards. One other thing that we got was the complimentary bread rolls. The bread rolls here are not bad at all, but by default they come drowned in Italian dressing. Lots of people seem to like them this way, but we have come to the conclusion that they are a bit disgusting this way, so we order them dry with a side of the dressing instead. That way we can dip them if we want to, but really the bread is good all on its own. We'll be back. The food is good, the wait times are nominal, and the wait staff are always friendly. read more

Piesanos is generally busy... but this has nothing to do with the food or service; both of which is simply not good. Piesanos has the benefit of being one of the few restaurants in the area; especially one that can sit a party of more than 4 and get an alcoholic drink. And for those reasons, Piesanos remains open for way too long. The former Millhopper Cafe (think El Toro) was revamped nicely and the pizza oven is beautiful to say the least. Service is at best "meh." Sometimes you get a good server, but they won't last long. They'll quickly move on to a better establishment deserving of good service as Piesanos doesn't need good service to stay busy-- location, location, location. Pizza is the only thing here (almost) deserving of your money. The subs, pastas, and entrees are nothing more than what you would find at a hospital cafe. Salads are only edible with enough dressing to cover the discoloration of greens. You'll do best with a pizza or calzone. Although, for a much better meal and better food, you can try Pomodoro's. If you really need to eat in the area, then you're kind of stuck. Definitely not worth the price. If someone else is paying, maybe? read more

Overall I like this neighborhood restaurant. However! We were there last night and got a few drinks with dinner. When we got the bill my wife's GLASS of white whine was $19.50. I ordered a pizza for take out on Uber Eats, the the pizza I received was one step above a frozen pizza. For paying premium price for this pizza, and hearing nothing but amazing things about this restaurant, I was very disappointed.
