I needed to have that tooth removed immediately due to infection but my blood pressure was too high to give me standard numbing shots. I was in so much pain, I was not leaving until that tooth was removed. They ended up giving me the option of a topical and another kind of numbing shot. I said go for it and rip this baby out. The Dr was a strong man and he gripped that tooth and rippped it clean right out my head. He then scraped all the infection off my jaw the best he could. It was a crappy situation but he definitely made the best out of it. As I was leaving the office girl tried to make future appointments and she saw I just got a tooth removed so we talked about it the next day on the phone. I'd definitely refer my friends here.

I then went in for a consultation for three implants after Dr. Straw pulled three teeth over 7 months ago. When I went to schedule the surgery at the front desk and get the estimate, I was told that if I paid by cash, I would get a discount. I agreed to the price and said I would bring in a cashier's check. A few hours later, they called and said that they made a mistake and would not be able to give me a discount. I still agreed to have them do the surgery. A couple of days ago, the office called me back and said that they made another mistake and forgot to charge me a fee, even though it was in the doctor's notes. They also said they wanted to discuss with me my 1-star review I gave them. The fee went up another large amount; the original quote was for $8500.00, and now it was over $13,000.00. They told me that Delta Dental informed them that I did not get the discount price because the surgery was not necessary, so the price went up over $2800, even though the office knew that my insurance was not paying a dime for the surgery. When I asked about the price increase, the employee I talked with was more concerned with the 1 star review I gave them the fee increase. She would not talk about any discount until I talked about the bad review I gave them. I have all the paperwork with the numbers written down I was given. I recommend going to a different oral surgeon.

In fact, I'm currently planning for major dental treatment and have no interest in going anywhere else. Dr. Olsen and his staff have consistently provided the most skilled, compassionate, professional and patient centered care I've ever experienced. When you're facing something as significant as extractions and implants, trust matters and this is a practice I trust completely. I don't give five star reviews lightly. This practice earned it then and they have continued to earn it over the years. I've attached my original 2015 review because it's as accurate today as it was in 2015.

With that being said, I reached out to them later down the line after my consultation to move forward with getting a plan in motion for me. I called and was told that they would give my notes to Dr. Datwyler and someone would get back to me. I called back 3 times within a 2 week period waiting for a response and each time was told that they were waiting for Dr. Datwyler to review the notes and would get back to me. Never received a call back. I understand that my dental situation is complex, but I feel like I was not a priority for them. If they aren't interested in taking me on as a patient, I would respect them if they told me that, so I could move on and find another place to work with. It is frustrating to have your time wasted and still going on week 3, not receive a call back.

They really took great care of him. I would say that the cost seems a bit high, but I imagine that comes with the territory of being in the Palladio where I am sure the rent is extremely high. The only other issue we had was one of the visits they started to work on him, but then seemed to get distracted by another patient and left the room to deal with that. It was about 20 minutes before they came back to finish the work. It seems like something like that shouldn't happen.
