Amazing experience at PIH Urgent Care in Montebello. I was out of town on business and needed some reassurance on a minor injury incurred over the weekend. Ended up at PIH and I could not believe how smooth it went. First, Grabiela at the front desk helped me get checked in. She was congenial, helpful, and just a really kind human. Next up was Miguel to get my vitals and set up in a room. Just a cool human with a great disposition. Queue up P.A. Norma, and nurses Julliann and Edhmi... all three are FANTASTIC!! Norma is SUPER knowledgeable, kind, funny, and just makes you feel like she is treating a family member. Julliann and Edhmi are equally amazing, with the same congeniality and care Norma displayed. All in all a fantastic experience. If you need care, you will have one too. read more

My girlfriend had an unfortunate run in with misfortune that resulted in having to have her fingernail removed. Angel the PA and Angela the medical assistant were incredibly professional and compassionate in providing care to my girlfriend as to help ease her 10/10 anxiety related to receiving any kind of medical care. Their patience in affording her time to compose herself and allowing her to direct her own care when she was ready in session really highlighted their amazing client centered care. read more

I put one star due to the unprofessional establishment. Especially for a health office, I called for an appointment the staff Valerie was real rude and did not even finish the phone call and answered none of my questions, she just put phone down and I could hear her gossiping with her colleagues. I hope this changes especially a place where they are supposed to help. read more

The care I've gotten from providers here has ranged from good to horrible. Some have been compassionate and understanding while others have been outright dismissive. The hours posted online and at the location are false and wrong. They say they open at 10, but they really open at 9:30 if not earlier. I was inside right at 9:58 and there were already 7 people ahead of me. How does that work? Aren't you guys supposed to open at 10? 40 minute wait right at proposed opening is outrageous. The care is fine if you need something done "urgently", but don't expect your visit to be fast. They're always low staffed here. read more

Came here on two separate occasions and received excellent service on both occasions. On 5/12/25 the wait was a standard 45 minutes to be seen and up to the hour for me to be completely finished. On 5/17/25, the wait was 15 minutes to be seen and I was out in half an hour. I can say that on 5/12 the front receptionist handled herself very well having to deal with an ornery patient who was very rude. This location is clean, plenty of parking, and staff is professional. read more

Staff is always great, but the doctors not so much. There are two incredible doctors that are not always there, but we've encountered many who have been rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. The Dr that was at the Montebello PIH urgent care on 12/22/24 was a complete jerk! After waiting 2 hours, he was dismissive with my daughter, RUDE to me of which i reacted to because no one wants to be treated rudely or mocked by a doctor. The mocking was where I lost it and cannot understand why someone who you are there to see for help thinks it's ok to treat patients like he did. After years with PIH, we're dropping them. The nurses have always been amazing, the doctors not so much. We're incredibly disappointed! read more

I had a positive experience on 5/7/25. My daughter and I took my granddaughter to urgent care due to her having a high fever and vomiting and cough. They immediately took her in, took her vitals, temperature, swabbed her for COVID and influenza, x-rays. Also gave her tylenol and a pedialite popsicle. The staff was very nice and attentive. We didn't have to wait too long. She was seen by the practitioners assistant. However, I forgot her name, but she was very thorough. Thank god it was nothing serious. Usually I am very satisfied w this urgent care, but since their "cyber attack" they definitely have proven that they are not ready for an emergency situation at all. The girl at the desk is not pleasant at all and the guy is calling everyone one by one to gather insurance information, he'll cross them off the list and forget and then skip them. Then he'll call someone else and the other person will say they've been skipped and he'll tell them sit down again and then skip the person he just called up because he's not paying attention. They're dealing with paper charts again which isn't a new concept so I don't know what the problem is. Another woman came in and said she's had Covid since Saturday and her symptoms have only worsened and they told her to sit down with the tons of people already in here. Why can't we wait outside? They said they won't call us if we are not inside. This is ridiculous that we are forced to wait with other sick patients for 2 hours plus. What about those who came here for an injury and are not even sick? This is not Ok. read more

Urgent care doesn't have radiology tech onsite. One is on call. Check in is done via Phresia. Annoying and confusing for some patients who do not understand the advertising /marketing process. When you're sick, the last thing you want to do is be solicited by drug companies. PIH must be getting kickbacks for this scam. Care is okay but must make more improvements. read more

I took my 92 year old mother to the Montebello urgent care facility. Dr Oei and staff were awesome. Everyone was so polite and helpful to my mother's needs. My mother has dementia and they did their best to keep her calm during examination. My sister and I felt they went the extra mile where they could have just sent us to ER. One nurse who had experience w senior care did a great job with my mom. When we were leaving, everyone told us bye and to have a good evening. This facility and staff truly deserve 5 stars. I get it urgent care usually it's like a 30 min wait but today my experience was the worst I came in at 1145am and left at 2:30pm. They took me in and checked me in less than 20 min but they kept passing other people pass me just because what they said their case was more urgent than mine. If I would have know they were going to take that long I think going to emergency would have been faster specially since I'm 8 months pregnant and the pain or issue could have affected the baby. But I guess doctors decide what's urgent here. read more

Excellent experience. As I checked in, I hardly had time to wait before being assisted. Both the front office and back office staff and the provider Angel Delgadillo were incredibly kind and helpful. I particularly appreciated how the provider truly took the time to go over my condition and discuss the plan of care. I had a wonderful visit, the nurse Karina and the provider's approach helped put me at ease. The provider with his funny jokes, and laughter, took my mind off the sutures, and oddly the whole process was painless! I wouldn't hesitate to come back! read more

Overall good experience. Short wait time and great staff. The only issue is that I did not ask for a Dr's note, so I tried calling the next day to see if I can get one for work. Tried calling for over an hour, but no one answered the phone. I even tried call the PIH Health main customer support line, but the recording stated that they had too many calls and to call back later. How can a healthcare corporation as big as PIH not have enough phone operators to answer patient calls? Why don't they have a system to handle all the call volume to simply answer calls in a reasonable manner? What are they so cheap? I don't blame the staff at the Montebello urgent care staff, I blame the corporation for not having enough personnel to answer simple phone calls. I'm still sick at home, but now I have to drive down to the urgent care and see if I can get the paperwork I need because no one answer's the phone. Came in for shortness of breath and heaviness on my chest, don't have any flu symptoms. I was tested for Covid and Max the PA-C tested me for Covid and said ok it's negative but just send me nasal spray to my pharmacy. Didn't even bother to do an EKG on me or any other test. The worst experience ever at PIH. read more

Not a bad experience. Came in at 11am on a saturday during the obivious flu season. Took about 2 hours to get in and out. Nurses and front office were nice. Dr. was informative and straigh forward. prescriptions were called in and ready on the way home. read more

When they opened up in 2018, gave them a 5 star review but it seems things have changed for the worse. They only have 1 doctor on the premises and the wait is extremely long. Upper management has to reconsider how they're managing the office. read more

Scummy people, terrible service, incompetent staff. Came here for some thorn removal from sliding into a bush while hiking. Simple right? I could see the 2 thorns left I couldn't remove myself, I knew they were there and I removed the other 3x 3/4" long thorns before coming. They were on the back of my leg and I just couldn't get a good position on them to pull them out. After paying 300+ bucks to the "Doctor" here, who turns out not to have even been a doctor, he tells me there are no thorns. Now he did dig around in my leg for 30 mins while I tried not to rip my hair out in pain to tell me there were no thorns. I made him check the 2 I was sure were there twice. A week later I have these infected green holes in my leg with nerve pain shooting down to my foot and was able to pull out one of the 3/4" thorns myself through the pain out of sheer desperation. Turns out ya they are there like I said. Big surprise the black thing in my leg with a wound was a thorn. I call them back to get the other removed and they inform me I have to pay all over again for the same services even though clearly they weren't rendered. When I explain that hey this seems ridiculous being charged again for something that wasn't done the first time, I am told well then you can go to the emergency room we cant help you sorry. Seems you need emergency care if you question payment or care received. Even got a "supervisor" Susette to call me back and pretty much say tough luck to me since the PA they had do my leg last time isn't even there anymore and they charge everytime for a visit regardless. BTW these people are not doctors they are physicians assistants. She let that one slip out even though they clearly called my PA a doctor multiple times when I was there. If you take a look at the rest of the PIH reviews for other locations it seems to be a trend. Guess you need to yelp urgent care before you go there these days. If these people cant handle something this simple I worry for anyone who needs more serious care that mistakenly comes here. read more

The urgent care never called me to tell me I had an infection nor did they prescribe me any medication.

Man, I am sad to have to write this. First because there was no wait at this urgent care during flu/Covid/cold season and second because the front check in staff member was super sweet. BUT.... something really dangerous happened. On my way out of the visit I got paperwork and walked to the car. When I looked at the paperwork I realized it belonged to someone else! I had another person's paperwork! It had everything, name, address, phone, medical info. EVERYTHING! I immediately rushed in to return the other persons paperwork and ask for my own. Carlos the nurse/assistant SAID he gave me the paperwork of someone who left without getting their paperwork by mistake and that he hadn't printed mine yet. Although I highly doubt that was true, I took my real paperwork and left. Someone either has all my medical and personal info or this office gave me someone else's paperwork by mistake. Both are bad! I am waaaay closer to another PIH urgent care facility but took my chances on Montebello because it had no wait. I think I found out why. This type of mistake negates an overall good visit because it is that big of a mistake! Be careful and check your paperwork if you ever go here. I won't return. I'll just wait two hours at my local urgent care to get better security of my personal info. read more

I took my elderly and fragile mom here after she had a fall and couldn't move her leg. She also had ringing in ears which might have caused the fall. From the moment I walked in until after we left, it was such a positive experience. When I arrived and needed a wheelchair, staff immediately brought one to the car and helped my mom out of the car. There was no one inside waiting (some chose to wait outside or in their car). I doubled up on my mask, just in case. The staff member even helped my mom with her new mask to pinch the nose bridge area. They explained the process and mentioned that there was a wait. They were also proactive in letting me know that if she needs to be x-rayed for a concussion that she would be sent to the ER. I thought that was nice of her to explain ahead of time so that I am aware of what may happen. We arrived around 11:40 am. While in the waiting room, I heard staff concerned about the heat outside with some people choosing to wait in their cars. Staff wanted to find rooms where they could wait inside. My mom and I were the only ones in the waiting room and we waited 20 minutes and were escorted into a room. Then within 5 minutes, we were seen by Dr. John Miguel. I thought that he was very good. He asked questions to my mom and I explained the situation. He checked her leg and immediately ordered an x-ray for her. I explained about the ringing of the ear and he mentioned that I would need to call my primary care. X-ray came in 2 minutes, waited another 5 -10 minutes for the results, and then Dr. Miguel returned going over the results which was most likely a sprain. He suggested ibuprofen, stay off the leg, and gave her an ACE bandage to help support the knee. I liked the doctor. He was patient with my mom, he listened to my concerns, and he explained things clearly. There was nothing more that I could have asked from him. Everyone was helpful and kind and it was a very positive experience given such a scary situation for my elderly mother. Also my mom does NOT like going to the hospital or urgent care and trying to convince her to go can take hours. I can see that she felt safe, comfortable and was calm here at this PIH Urgent Care. I think that she saw it more as a doctor's office with everyone being so nice and attentive. Now I know if I have to take her here again, she will go willingly. Only reason they're getting 2 stars is because the front desk ladies were very nice. Dr. Nare Stepanyan on the other hand is very dismissive and uncaring. I went in because I had a seizure and she had no answers whatsoever. She rushed out of the room and we had to ask for a referral to a Neurologist because she had forgotten. She also put that it was a "routine" priority so it has been difficult to get an expedited appointment to a Neurologist. read more

I went to the Urgent Care in Montebello obviously I wasn't feeling good. There's only 1 person in the waiting room so I knew there wouldn't be a long wait. I get to the reception area feeling crappy and the unprofessional, rude secretary has a horrible attitude from the get go. Her attitude was that of a teenager in High School. Horrible! I was too sick to confront her about her horrible attitude. Be prepared when going there. Her name is Celeste. I bet she gets away with her child like attitude until someone reacts to it. I went on Thursday evening thinking it might be so crowded... but there was no other patients. I was checked in by their friendly staff, everything was done very efficiently and professional manner. Avoid this location at all costs!!!! It's always empty here for a reason! The doctors are super dismissive & unhelpful. It seems like their biggest goal there is to get you out as quick as they can and provide the least amount of care possible. Don't come here unless you feel like wasting your time for no reason. The other PIH locations are usually pretty good but this one has doctors who don't care. Stay awayy!!!! read more
