It's just downright cruel not to listen to them (really listen, not just feign interest) and pass them onto someone else. Well, Dr. Goland didn't do that. He listened, asked my Dad to repeat answers just to make sure he understood correctly, and did some testing right there and then. Dr. Goland outlined a complete course of action and I'm hopeful that my Dad will get better in time.

If you make an appointment with him make sure you clear your day because its going to take extra time (in a good way). Expect to wait for him, he will probably run late because he is very thorough with EVERY patient. He will go step by step, organ by organ, and ask you what your symptoms are. This is not a 5 to 15 minute visit doctor that doesn't listen. You won't have to talk too much because he asks you very direct questions. On your part, you better know your symptoms so you can clearly communicate that to the doctor. He will analyze your symptoms and come up with a treatment plan. I felt like all my issues were addressed and dealt with. He reminds me of a small town doctor that takes time, he is definately not a clock watcher. The lady Maria that works with him is amazing as well. She will tell you in the beginning that there might be extra waiting for him so bring a book, jot down your symptoms, watch YouTube and be ready. It took me a month and a half to make an appointment to see this doctor and it was worth it. He's not the type of doctor that's going to baby you and coddle you, he gets right down to business. Be ready to answer questions definitively. Lastly, he is an educator. He empowers you with information so you're not thinking you have cancer or some crazy stuff you looked up on the internet. It feels good to have information and answers. This is right up my alley.

One of the main reasons we decided on Dr. Chung for our second baby was because Priscilla is her patient coordinator. She was my previous coordinator and my husband and I trust and appreciate her attentiveness and care. When we learned that she was working with Dr. Chung it was a no brainer for us. Dr. Chung is an amazing physician with lots of great research knowledge. Working with her truly felt like we're all in the same team. We appreciated her collaboration and sincerity throughout the entire process from pre transfer testing to prenatal care. We always felt like our voices were heard and that Dr. Chung was open minded to our thoughts and ideas regarding protocols. She is very hands on and communicative which is a breath of fresh air. I have been with Dr. Leung for years. In mid 2023 she stopped my bc pill because my blood pressure…read morewas too high 1 time. She didn't recheck it and looking back i should have asked her to. But I was coping with my husband whonwas dying of cancer so I wasn't necessarily completely attentive to my own care. This pill was controlling some serious pain. After I stopped taking the pill I was in excruciating pain but couldn't tend to myself because my husband was now dying. All my attention went to him. After finally getting back in to see Dr. Leung 4 months later to start the pill again she insisted I try the IUD. I wasn't to comfortable with the idea but she was really insistent it would be better. I decided to try it and so began 2 years of the worst pain I have ever experienced. After she inserted the IUD I ended up with a UTI. After I healed from the UTI the symptoms never went away. I saw a urologist who also was a bad experience. He the diagnosed me with Interstitial cystitis. I told Dr. Leung at my follow up that I really thought the IUD was causing more pain. She insisted it wasn't the IUD. My urologist insisted it wasn't the IUD. Well I trusted them both. For 2 years I changed my diet drastically to manage Interstitial Cystitis assuming that was my problem. Finally in Dec. of 2025 I insisted the IUD be removed really convinced it was causing some of not all of my symptoms. I even paid cash because my insurance didn't kick in until Jan. 2026. I saw Dr. Melnik who listened to my whole story and removed the IUD promptly. For 2 weeks I felt 100% relief. Then I ended up with another UTI. And here we are again. I am now healing from this UTI and while I'm getting better the progress has been painful and slow. To think all this could have been avoided if Dr. Leung had just listened to me and removed the IUD instead of convincing me it wasn't the IUD. I have also changed my urologist. This whole process has been a nightmare and not something I wanted to experience and helping my husband fight sarcoma for almost 6 years. After his death I was mourning but looking forward to some much needed rest. That is still yet to happen 2 and a half years later. Doctors please listen to your patients. If they tell you something isn't right give them the benefit of the doubt.

I decided to look into other options and did a search for places I could pay out of pocket. When I lived in Mexico, I had been using the services at a local hospital, paying a monthly membership fee for their services so imagine my surprise when I found out that the exact same system existed here. That was when I found Dr. Marisse so I booked an appointment. I found her originally on Zocdoc and the nearest appointment was in a month and a half. Within a day of making the appointment, I was called by the office to Nurse Shawna who wanted to make sure that I knew that all appointments needed a preliminary chat with the Doc, after which I could book my appointment. thanked me for letting her know that the next available appointment was that far away. It turned out there was a mix-up and that she did have more immediate appointments available. There is plenty of parking, as it is in shared parking lot with other businesses. However, there are two buildings with the same building number but with different locale numbers. Upper Echelon is in the building nearest to the AAA and the Farmer Boys. At the appointment, everything was clearly explained and we went over a sort of plan of attack, with regards to my concerns and what I needed to do. I appreciated paying less per month for the membership, which includes as many appointments as you want. The lab work and the tests are at wholesale prices so even with the membership fee and registration, all of this was cheaper than the plan I was going to get with insurance. What I appreciated was the quickness of getting an appointment. I have always hated waiting a few weeks, as a new patient, before actually being seen but I was able to book this within a week of the appointment. It was a week because their availability interfered with my work hours. Otherwise, I would have been seen earlier. All in all, it is pretty convenient and a wallet-friendly option. After that first appointment and the lab results came in, Dr. Marisse wrote a VERY long email detailing every point of concern. Which I appreciated because I went for answers and I was getting them. If you need a straightforward person to tell you what you need to be doing and not someone who has to be on your ass every step of the way, this is the ideal option. I would say the ONLY con is that they do not have appointments during the weekends. And since I work during the week, I have to take time off to go to an appointment.
