Situated in the middle of the hustle and bustle that is the Lindbergh area of Buckhead, but slightly tucked away about two blocks off of Piedmont is this location of Pike Nursery. I am not one that gets super giddy about plants, but there is something about roaming around Pike that gets the blood pumping while also weirdly calms you down. This particular location isn't the largest in the area, but still boasts an impressive assortment of plants, trees, shrubs, planters, seeds, tools and accessories! Indoors you will find most of the accessories, bird feeders, flag poles, and a small array of plants, but outside is truly where it's all at! When you walk through those automatic doors leading to the outdoor area, you are transported into a plant lovers paradise! They have plants on tables, hanging plants, a rose garden, a bush section, a small forest of trees and a lovely planter section! For plant novices such as myself, I really appreciate how everything is clearly labeled and separated into sections of like plants/trees. The larger sections are helpful for letting you know what to expect from basic care of the plant (sunlight, season, etc...), while the tags on the plants themselves shed light (no pun intended!) on things like maturity size, watering habits and best location to be planted. I have been to this spot a few times to pick up kits for Yelp events and each time I came through, they were very organized and helpful! Outside of these special trips, anytime I have visited, the staff always seem to be friendly and helpful. Price wise I will say that Pike is a little higher than your big box or small time local nurseries. The product doesn't always warrant the extra few bucks for me. Parking is decent, they have a small lot and then there is street parking around the neighboring complex if it comes to that. Their private lot does fill up on occasion, but it is overflow for the residential complexes that sit beside and in front of the store. If you happen to purchase anything large, they do have a convenient loading area in the lot. Overall, Pike is a solid place for all of your plant needs! Wayne Williams plant and outdoor manager from South Africa had a great customer service attitude. He was not only able to use his knowledge of being certified in Horticulture to help me pick out plants with specific needs of shade, watering, pet friendliness etc. But also his share his knowledge of other non-domestic plants. The person that first came to help me was more of a "corporate "attitude in which he kept trying to sell me plants that only he knew about to which I kept telling him they did not meet my needs! It was actually annoying that I had more knowledge of plants and he did. I was getting the feeling that he just wanted to sell me plants that they had lots of to minimize inventory! I was actually ready to walk out and not make a purchase until I met Wayne! Had a great experience picking up my herb kit for the yelp event. When I arrived , an associate was readily available to show me where the cart was for me to choose from. She explained each herb and what was included! I picked the sage herb and she took me over to checkout. It was super fast and easy. She also asked if I wanted to sign up for their loyalty program, I declined because I don't shop there that often but appreciated the suggestion. The store itself was really bright , clean and huge! I had an awesome experience shopping at Pike's Nurseries. I parked with ease and upon walking to the entrance there was beautiful white hydrangea and other nice plants and pots displayed. I was greeted as soon as I walked in which was welcoming. Just to described my excitement I was like a kid in a toy store! I was asked if I needed any help and I appreciated that and all I needed was a buggy lol. I purchased a few herbs to add to my garden and they had so many different varieties of herbs, plant, and flowers to choose from. Check out was easy and I was on my way. For a plant lady in a new town it can be very difficult to find a good spot. Pike was amazing. They have solid options for indoor plants and they all look quite healthy as well, which is difficult to find if the shop isn't fully indoor plants. They have a great outdoor selection but I don't have a yard so I was very sad about it. I think you cant beat the price point here to be honest if you like to plant shop a lot. You can get baby monstera deliciousa for $9.99. Don't waste your money buying full grown ones and get these and watch these babies grow. The customer service was great. Overall a great experience. I tend to get my plants from Home Depot/Lowe's because they are conveniently located everywhere...but Pike's has changed my life (and my garden). After going to 3 stores looking for star jasmine to no avail, I decided to call Pike's. The woman who answered the phone was extremely helpful and friendly. When I got there, I was surprised at their extensive collection of gorgeous plants and even more impressed with their competitive pricing!! If you're unfamiliar with the business, PIke's is employee-owned and has multiple locations in the Atlanta area - I've been to 2-3 and they all offer wonderful shopping experiences. The employees are all friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Normally, I don't like having people chat with me or help me shop, but at Pike's, the employees make sure that you're selecting the right plant for the environment you're looking for and offering care advice. The prices are a bit higher than Home Depot or Walmart, but they're not unreasonable and are indicative of the quality of plant and service you receive. During these weird times, I have been slowly but surely purchasing more plants to keep myself busy. I have bought a few house plants, air plants, succulents, and additional herbs for my home. I stopped by Pike's to pick up my herb kit for Herb Your Enthusiasm event. Can I just say, wow? I wish Pike's was much closer to my house! While I'm lacking in the plant expertise arena, my visit to Pike Nurseries in the Lindbergh area certainly made me question why I have not considered having more plants. (Except my bad streak of killing various indoor plants through the years has sort of discouraged me from having more.) Anyway, I stopped by pick up a wreath but ended up looking around the entire store because of how clean and well organized it was. For those curious during the pandemic, the store enforces good measures with a mask mandate and one-way arrows taped on the floor (but like many places with the arrows, most people either don't see them or flat-out ignore them). I walked around among the plants with my family and we got curious about which ones would work in our home, which receives poor light due to the north orientation of the front of our home. But we're soon moving and will return to get some greenery for our joint! Big AT was especially excited and started making all kinds of notes. In true 2020 fashion though--the year in which literally any crap can and will happen--I successfully rebloomed a beautiful orchid plant that I received for Mother's Day and now my self-esteem in the world of vegetation is slowly rising. My 2021 plan is to traverse more confidently in the plant realm and a return trip to Pike Nurseries will be part of that journey. read more

Was nervous walking in to pick up my wreath making kit as I had no idea if they would be ready or not. Walked right in, waited in line and was promptly greeted. As soon as I told her I was here for Yelp, she guided me over to the stand to pick out a Yelp bag, choose my own wreath, and trimmings to go with. She said I was the second person there, and was getting some good additions for my wreath. Store was super clean, all associates friendly and during these times- everyone had on a mask. I. Love. Christmas. Especially when I get a tree (I have skipped it a year or two here and there, sadly). And when the Boy takes me to procure one and we get a beautiful one at a place where NPWH like Pike, even better. Mom brought over a wreath for the door and a tree-themed front door mat, and last night J and I went to Pike by my house to get this girl a tanenbaum. It is perfect! We got a bigger one than I thought, about 6ft, but it fits perfectly in my living room. The folks at Pike were so nice and helpful, tying the tree to my car, after trimming the bottom and top as we asked, etc. Oddly, though, they are currently out of lights with green cord- the cashier was nice enough to inform us that the ones we picked had white cord, so we decided to find lights elsewhere- so decoration will have to wait til we get lights first. And at something like $39, a deal. It was my first visit to this particular Pike, as I usually go to the one on Roswell Rd when I ever do, but I shall definitely return for other flora needs! read more

I had the best experience at pike today. After months of fighting to keep my jade plant alive only to have it die, i went into pike frustrated. I was greeted by several employees all eager to help. The man that helped me, William, listened to my story and tried to process what could have gone wrong. After chatting for a good 15 minutes we decided on a strategic plan and he offered me a complementary succulent to make up for it. He didn't have to do it, it was totally my fault that the plant died and I didn't even get it from there, but he still did. I've been really stepping up my gardening game and buying a ton of stuff over the last 2 weeks. There's a lot of open space at my new house and I've been trying to fill it with some greenery and multicolored flowers. Around my place, there are 2 Pike Nurseries and a Home Depot which I switch off between. Pike Nurseries is a family owned chain of nursery gardens that has a ton of plants for you to choose from. Sometimes I just enjoy walking through to see the different types of plants available to get ideas for the yard. I have found that they frequently will have a lot of variety in stock year round and they have good looking plants as well which is not always the case when you go to a nursery! They are on the more expensive side for the plants. If you happen to find the same plants over at Home Depot, they can often be 50-60% less expensive over there than here at Pike. That being said, you should sign up for their membership which allows you to earn points for discounts plus they will send you periodic emails to tell you about nursery wide sales. What does make them standout is that they have a very large collection of indoor plants something that Home Depot or other generic stores will not be able to compare to. Love their collection of ferns and bromeliads and I will frequently like to go through and choose something special to take home. They also have praying mantis eggs and lady bugs if you need some natural ways to get rid of pests. I really enjoy this place just wish they brought the store prices down a bit! Plenty of parking. People here are always friendly. read more

I'm a fan of Pike and a member of their Play In The Dirt Club. It's not that I garden all that much, but when I need anything gardening related I head to Pike Nurseries. Whether I'm buying soil, plants for the patio, birdhouses or big Boston ferns in the spring, Pike is my go to store. Plus, they have great weekly specials - it's worth signing up for their regular emails to get the lowdown on specials for that week. Over the last several years I've bought my Christmas tree from Pike. They're reasonably priced and I love that they hang them from the ceiling with the trunk in a pan of water. It keeps the tree fresh and allows it to spread out so you see the shape (or flaws) before you buy. I also like that Pike is always well staffed. If you need help or advice there are plenty of employees on hand. Do yourself a favor and visit Pike Nurseries. They take the stress out of gardening. read more

This place is the absolute worst!! I've been in contact with the district manager several times due to noise they are causing by forklifts, moving trash bins, deliveries, and leaf blowers! They are breaking the law of running these pieces of equipment during hours where it's not allowed! I life next to the store in which I don't fully blame them as we were never informed of this when leasing this apartment. Last week I was told this would not continue during the hours the law lists, but here we are at 7:30 on a weekend and all sorts of noise is being made! Lolita was dying. She was all young and pretty, attracting the attention of all. One day she started withering. Then came the jaundice. Was she not getting enough love and affection? I literally walked in here with my orchid to get some help. Did you think I kept a young sex slave around? Sorry, I don't play for the other team! The guy was quite helpful - asking questions, diagnosing the problems, and offering solutions. He was quite knowledgeable in what needed to be done and what items to get. Turns out she needed more nutrients, different soil/bark, and a bigger pot. This nursery had what I needed at a decent price. Their greenhouse is full of lovely plants and pots. The staff are friendly and helpful right off the bat. They seem to know everything about the plant and the different varieties of that plant just by looking at it. Lolita is recovery quite nicely. I'm pretty happy I got to buy my office plants here. The nursery is not the largest, but it has a very nice selection and it's not pungent (thank god - my nose can't deal with overpowering flower smells). Its spacious and not too crowded, the service is helpful (I was looking for low maintenance plants, which I found and got recommendations on). I do think there could be some additional selection in pots for my plants, but I won't ask too much. There were plenty of large ones -- maybe the smaller ones were all picked over. Overall, very happy with my plants so far, hope to not kill them by accident. read more

We have been long time Pike's customers for years. My family has been going there for over 40 years and we have been using them for the 3 we've lived in Atlanta. Aside from the expert knowledge and help you get when you get there, we had the pleasure of using Pikes for our backyard re-do. We did this last summer, 2018, and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, the rainy winter caused havoc and the drainage wasn't quite there. After calling Pikes and explaining, they willingly came out, assessed the situation, and then devised a plan where we would fix the problem once and for all. The crew came out and installed french drains, moved a shrub that needed to be relocated, and re-did the sod. The level of professionalism in the crew, the manager, and the district manager was incredible. Jeff Hunter is really wonderful, Matt Gross is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to get a hold of, and the crew was efficient and very good. Pikes went above and beyond to come out, survey our yard, and remedy what didn't work over the last year. It's solidified us as 100% Pike's customers and I look forward to working with them on our upcoming front yard project that will see a complete overhaul of what we have! Thank you!! read more

Sure, this location is big, but I wasn't impressed. Service wasn't all that helpful. For friendly, knowledgeable service, I like Lowe's and Home Depot. I was also not all that impressed with the flowers selection here, either. When I was there, I saw lots of rotting flowers! The plants I got at Lowe's lasted much longer.
