I got stuck paying two gym fees at the same time because Atlantic Club lied about giving me a few hours grace. I would not have joined another gym if the rep had been honest in the first place. When I saw the charge on my credit card, I called the gym. According to the membership rep, no one should have told me that the computer system could be changed. There was one person who had authority to change the computer system and that was Kevin McHugh-COO of Genesis Health System. I have emailed Kevin McHugh four times and only once did he get back to me to tell me he would get back to me. The Atlantic Club passes the buck and hopes you forget that you've paid them any money. I have not forgotten. I have tried in good faith to discuss this with them. They have my money; they no longer wish to speak with me. Consider this before you give them your credit card number.

You could eat off the floors in this place. They have everything you need and it doesn't feel like your typical small gym where people are pushing you or have you on a regime. You can workout at your own pace or take part in a class, whatever fits your needs. There has never been more than two other people in there working out at the same time as me so you just feel like you can let loose and breath freely. Amenities are great as well, shower rooms, bathroom and lockers are always super clean and tidy. Definitely recommend checking out the garage if you want to switch up your average gym routine!

Another problem they have is the number of high school age boys that always seem to be in the way. I gave them 3 stars though because they may not be right for me, but they're perfect for most people. They have plenty of treadmills. I also really miss the sauna and steam room. Plus they have an indoor pool you can use which is great for anyone training for a triathlon.

That's why it's frustrating to see the direction things have gone less than a year later. For a gym of this size and caliber, the sauna and steam room are shockingly small. They feel like an afterthought compared to the massive footprint of the rest of the facility, and it's disappointing considering how much members are paying. What stings even more is being hit with a $75 per member increase in under a year. As someone who supported the gym from day one, it feels like loyalty isn't valued -- instead, members are left to absorb constant price hikes. Life Time has the potential to be the premier club in the area, but issues like these make it hard to justify the cost.

After I signed up for the training I found that the trainer was really only available for couple of hours on 2 days of the week to schedule sessions. In other words if I have to use the training sessions I have to make myself available only those 2 days for those limited hours. To make things worse the trainer kept cancelling on me. The gym kept him in for several months on staff due to lack of trainers. When he went missing I was presented with 2 more trainers none of them lasted for more than 2 months. With all the cancellations by the trainers and the personnel changes I ran in to a situation where I had accumulated a lot of sessions with no one to train me. There is no easy way to find out how many training sessions you have left, so I kept asking my trainer for the information who kept directing me to the customer service. Customer service simply points you back to the gym and on and on you go in circles. I finally got hold of the manager who is really hard to get to, only to find somehow I was actually in deficit of sessions! It turns out that all the sessions that the trainers cancelled actually got charged to me. The manager made it up to me by giving me some free sessions but also stealthily signing me up for a 12 month contract! I don't remember signing a contract since I subscribed for DSL with Verizon in 2006. Who has long term agreements anymore? That being said it was my fault that I signed the contract. I have been a gym member for a long time but want to prevent anyone else to be trapped like I was so I wrote this review. To summarize: 1. This gym is short on trainers good luck in getting options for trainers and time slots 2. There is no easy portal/app to see the accounting for your sessions 3. To freeze or cancel the training it requires a lot of perseverance to bounce back and forth between the gym, customer service emails, tickets etc. 4. There are long term contract!! Please read the contract before you sign it. It is only 2 pages long. They will try to make you sign for it on the credit card machine where you cannot read the contract. Please ask they to print it or email it to you so that you know what you are singing for.

The general workout area is clean & huge. It can be a little intimidating. But they have great group fitness rooms such as a spin studio that's tiered. There is another workout area that's smaller and less intimidating. I give kudos to the idea of allowing local businesses advertise on the TV panels in various areas. The juice bar is good too with various protein drinks. They have pickleball courts that double as basket ball courts. Hopefully they will expand a little more and add the pool. Then it would be a well rounded health & wellness center of the 21st century.
