I always been a loyal customer to businesses I enjoy. Unfortunately, my experience here has been disappointing. The communication with the owner is extremely difficult, which has made an otherwise positive experience frustrating. For a loyal customer to feel compelled to leave, it usually takes more than just inconvenience--it signals deeper issues with the way the business is managed. I really wanted to continue supporting this studio, but the lack of effective communication has made it impossible for me to do so. With so many other Pilates studios in the area, Mightly Pilates , Soildcore, Natural Pilates, PilatesCaves.... I strongly recommend avoiding this one. I love Pilatesmith! I had walked by their studio on Main Street and was super curious (but also a bit nervous!) to try Pilatesmith. Since I am newer to pilates, I finally signed up for the Apprentice class and couldn't say better things about the studio, the instructors, and the workout! I particularly love Ky's class because she provides very clear instructions, demonstrates more complicated moves, and offers both modifications and progressions. I try and go to Pilatesmith twice a week now and I'm noticing how much stronger I'm getting!! The studio itself is super clean and everyone from the staff to other patrons are always kind. From the moment I walked in, the studio made me feel completely comfortable and removed any intimidation I initially felt as a beginner. Carly was an amazing instructor -- her cues were clear, encouraging, and really helped me improve my form. I left class feeling more confident and excited to keep going with Pilates. The reformer machines are in excellent condition, easy to use, and not overwhelming at all. Plus, the props used during class are super accessible and really enhance the workout. Pilatesmith has been my favorite studio for pilates. As a newbie to pilates, the team was so friendly and nice. They made sure to check in on me after my first class to see how it went. In the past week, I've tried several instructors and they have all been consistently great (which is a feat in itself). They also have several levels to choose from when you sign up for the class, but the instructors have always been willing to help me modify the exercises in each class when needed as well. I really felt like I got a great workout and they have a lot of equipment to help people with coordination, balance and strength. Love it! read more

I joined a friend for a weekend workout with Ky, who was great. I secured the intro price for new clients and found the app to pay and book super easy and user friendly. The studio is nice, albeit small. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. The music was a bit much for me personally on the day of my workout. As someone who regularly did pilates on a megaformer, the reformer was nice, well cared for, easy to use and in great shape. The workout I received was excellent and really forced me to work and I was able to keep up with instructions. My biggest reservation about this studio is the terms and conditions for membership, particularly the requirement of a $30 contract termination no matter when or how you terminate. So, if you follow the rules as outlined, you'll still be charged a termination fee. The second reservation is that the fees in comparison to other studios are a bit higher. But, these are my reservations and I recommend checking out the studio for yourself. I would consider joining with my friend if there weren't a termination fee because paying the extra money to join a friend would be worth it here. read more

I took a beginner level pilates class at Pilatesmith and it went really well. I had taken other pilates classes before and thought it would still be a good workout for me, but when when say beginner....they mean beginner. if you've done pilates before, go for the intermediate or advanced level classes instead. I took another intermediate level class and it was much better for my level. Standing lunges are a killer no matter what level!! read more

Such a cute studio with a very welcoming front desk and a few studios with plenty of reformers which I like. I took the Novice class with Myra and she was so high energy and was great at demo-ing and working us through each move. Parking also was relatively easy I was able to snag a free spot on a side street (Pacific) but I saw plenty of metered spots around. Would definitely recommend the Novice class for newbies and will come here again as one of the studios I will frequent. read more

I have a few Pilates instructors that I like to follow around, and fortunately (or unfortunately) for Jessica, she is now one of the few that I stalk. I love Jessica's classes because of her pacing as well as keeping things fresh and challenging. I was also happy to see that Brieze is an instructor here since she too was one of my favorite teachers! The studio space is awesome. Top floor has a cadillac and two reformers for privates, and down below is where she holds her classes. The reformers, TRX, springboard, and my favorite, the chair. Parking is super easy, I think metered spots on Main, and there may also be a parking lot nearby. read more

The Santa Monica location was so cute and the class size is pretty small (8-9 reformers). The instructor was great at balancing the class - modified portions for someone with an injury, helped personalize tension levels, etc. The class went so quickly & transitions were smooth. Unhelpful staff - have witnessed falls and injuries, instructors do not slow down or care.

I've been doing HIIT pilates for a long time at several of the Westside studios. Although I thought I was probably capable of an advanced class, I figured I'd try intermediate, per their website for my first class, and it was plenty challenging. Class is relatively small, only 8 or 9 reformers. Michelle is an excellent teacher, providing clear instructions that you can hear and she is constantly giving adjustments to everyone; which feels like a rarity these days. Form is everything. I loved that this class started with TRX warm-ups and then moved to reformer. It was certainly a challenging class and we continuously took muscles to exhaustion. The only cons, which I don't factor into my score because not relevant to quality of the workout (and are my personal taste). 1. These cement floors are so unforgiving to the back... but most studios have them. 2. The area where you place your stuff is awkward, shared between 2 classes, and no matter what, you're always in someone's way. 3. stylistically: great looking studio, but functionally, I'd prefer more mirrors so you could more easily see what the teacher is showing without having to turn around. Ultimately, where it counts most: the caliber of teachers and equipment are impressive and I will defn return. read more

Came here for the first time on Thursday morning. Took the tempo class with Amber. I've been doing Lagree fitness for years now and was worried about adjusting to a different style of Pilates but the class was great. It was my first time back in a studio since Covid. This studio is gorgeous and clean. I appreciated the natural light and air flow. Amber had a great playlist and good verbal cues. Her class was really great. Nice holds and challenges. I left class feeling good and purchased a package. Highly recommend giving this studio a try especially when the first class is only $20! What a steal! Oh and parking is easy if you go to an morning class. Meters don't start until 9am! read more
