Wow, I don't know where to begin…read more I have been seeing Dr. Wilson for several years. I have always loved him, and thought I would never work with another dentist. I was even traveling an hour and a half to see him after I moved. However, a recent event revealed aside of the practice that I was unaware of. Putting money over a patient's health and well-being. Dr. Wilson missed a tooth that was cracking. Even when I brought his attention to the tooth because food was getting stuck in a place that it never had before. After six months at my next visit, he looked at it again and said that I had a big hole there that needed a filling. I went in to get it filled, and he realized it was cracked and I needed a root canal. He gave me a referral and said when the root canal was done, I would come back and have a crown put on. I have the root canal done, a temporary filling put in, and then I proceeded to wait two months while they tried to get pre-authorization for the crown from my insurance company. The insurance company was asking for a particular set of x-rays and a description from the dentist on why the crown was needed. The person that handles their insurance in the office, Laurie, kept debating with the insurance company, instead of just providing what they were asking for which caused significant delays. When I was finally brought in to have my crown put on, I was informed by Laurie that my insurance company was "not paying them enough" and that I needed to pay the difference. I called my insurance company to see if I could get reimbursed for this payment and I was informed by my insurance company that they were not allowed to ask me for money and that it was a breach of their contract. That they knew exactly how much they were getting paid when they signed their contract with the insurance company and that they were trying to pressure me into paying money that they were not allowed to ask for. The situation escalated quickly between the dentist and the insurance company and Wilson's office refused to provide me service. I was left with a temporary filling that was now several weeks passed it's replacement time and was now starting to fail. I was left feeling scared that I would lose my tooth and now I needed to start over with a whole new dentist. I found this entire process on ethical, and was really surprised to find out that Dr. Wilson would prioritize money over my health. I really expected better from him. Thankfully, the agent from my insurance company was on the phone with me the whole time and witnessed the experience. Insurance has filed a grievance and is now handling the situation on their own with the dentist.

But Wilson doesn't have any web presence in Catskill that I can find, so I'm leaving a review here. My only issue is with the office staff. I had to get three appointments, one had me waiting an hour before I had to cancel, the next, they lost the appointment. Finally the third was fine, though it started 45 minutes late. Anyway, Dr. Wilson is good enough to wait for. He's the only Catskill dentist who takes Medicare for routine visits. And he's careful, thorough, precise and charming.

I immediately Googled him and saw the terrible ratings, I had already filled out the paperwork so I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. When he walked into the examination room he didn't even acknowledge me or introduce himself. As he began to attempt to refit the crown he dropped it in my mouth and I nearly choked. This made me anxious, so when he tried to put it on again I shifted my body very slightly and he yelled, and I mean yelled: "I need you to sit still!" "You need to sit still!" I was in shock that a "professional" dentist would speak to me in such a nasty and aggressive way because I moved slightly. At that point I had seen enough and immediatly left his office. Dr. Belfor should not be practicing dentistry. He's clearly a very angry, impatient and inconsiderate man, and he has no business treating patients that come to him for help.

I do not know where to begin. I hate dentist visits, for that I haven't seen a dentist in years. So…read morelet me tell you when I first came in, my teeth were in bad shape. I had a few cavities, I needed 2 root canals, and a shattered tooth. First visit... Dr K introduced herself, and we spoke. She's funny and witty, but made me feel comfortable. She mentioned all the things that is wrong with my teeth, and even mentioned solutions. Most dentists in the past would just scold me to death, for not keeping up with my dental visits. But she was like "this is what's wrong with your teeth, I'm concerned about this shattered tooth, but we're gonna fight for it". First of all, there was really nothing there left, and any other dentist would've just extracted it and call it a day. But Dr. K cares about how it looks, so she was willing to try her best in working with it and getting a crown. Second visit... Dr K gets in there fills the cavities, and put temporary filling on the shattered tooth so it can protect it. She recommends a root canal. Third visit... I get a cleaning. Fourth visit... A specialist comes in and does a root canal. Fifth Visit... Dr K does another root canal on the shattered tooth. Sixth visit... I get fitted for crown and put temporaries in. Last and final visit... I get my permanent crowns. In and out within 35 minutes. Dr K and her team were so attentive to my oral needs and they made sure my teeth are back to pristine condition. Mind you all of these visits happened within 2 months, which is crazy cause I've never had this much personal interest medically before. They were quick to call me as soon as an opening was available. And because of that I was able to get my teeth fixed. Thank you Dr K for your wonderful work and personal interest. I feel comfortable here and cared about as a person, not only a patient, which is the primary reason I am calling out this dentist office. Everyone at the office is warm, efficient and highly professional. The hygienist immediately put me at ease (even under the more challenging circumstances related to Covid) and did an excellent cleaning. Dr. Richard Ross did the examination after the cleaning and answered my questions and was very knowledgable and reassuring. The entire process was painless. I intend to return and to schedule appointments for my children. Highly recommend this practice.
