My spouse decided to be present at the inspection. From the very start Mike Conley broke a 2year old spigot and a huge amount of water came out and he tried to blame it on The Who ever originally put it on. Worked for two years and a week ago. Had an attitude when we stated he will be supervised throughout his inspection. He even suggested joist hangers, when a Beam would be recommended. Then after the inspection, Mike apologize and admits that there was no noticeable rust on the Spigot and did not know what happened. He showed up 40 min early on purpose. They do this to try to mess with things out of their allowed boundaries but lucky we were here. I told my Spouse to give him space while he conduct his inspection but after he broke things. We watched him during the entire inspection. I highly do not recommend, something fishy going on with this company. I have been in Management for over 16 years with affordable housing and have conducted HUD inspection for over 10 years. Keep your eyes open.

I rarely write reviews like this, but my experience with Metro East Home Inspection deserves to be…read moreshared so other buyers can protect themselves. I hired this company expecting a careful, professional inspection. What I got was an inspection that failed to catch major sewer and main water shutoff problems that have now cost me over twenty-five thousand dollars out of my own pocket. These were not minor cosmetic issues. These were serious material defects that any thorough inspection should have flagged or at least raised concern about. After all, you hire a company like this to find and identify problems. I paid for a main sewer line scope and home inspection. What I got was a sewer scope done on a branch line, an inspector who failed to walk the full perimeter of the house, and someone who took the seller's word for which cleanout was the main sewer line. After the problems surfaced, I asked reasonable questions and requested their insurance information. Instead of transparency, I got resistance and runaround. For a company that promotes trust and professionalism, that response raised even more concerns. The inspection report gave me confidence to move forward with the purchase. That confidence turned out to be misplaced. I am now dealing with major repairs that I would have addressed before closing had the inspection been more careful, complete, and competent. I am not telling anyone what to do, but I strongly suggest that home buyers do very careful due diligence before relying on this company. Ask detailed questions. Verify what is and is not being scoped. And consider getting a second opinion, especially on sewer lines. This has been an expensive and frustrating lesson.
