After a long day of trucking and 2 minutes of drive time left I stopped at pilot because I had 2 shower credits... I expected it to be like every other bangy rushed cleaned truck shop shower but NOPE! It was so clean and the towels were brand new!!! The walls and the shower was spotless. I was so taken aback the sink , the toilet EVERYTHING was clean! I was in shower 6. I just had to leave a review THANK YOU to the person/people who cleaned so perfectly! read more

People remember the bad, and they remember the highlights of an experience. The things that made them "feel" something. Here's a few Points: 1. Easy and fast place to gas up, especially since it's right near the hotel. I didn't get any long lines and the pumps all seem to work fine. This rental gas hog Suburban uses a lot of gas! The gas quality might not be like Chevron, but hey, it's a rental, so it's all good. Inside the store they have all kinds of road food like Funyons and Doritos and sodas of all flavors. The coffee seems generic, well, let's just say it's not Starbucks or Peets, but it's a little better than the free coffee at the hotel. read more

Does it pencil to go to Fernley for gas and avoid the Washoe County gas tax? (highest in the state) Sort of. My car gets just good enough gas mileage and has just a big enough tank to make it slightly cheaper. Don't forget the "scenic" drive is included. However, when I add Pilot's $2.00 for a coffee refill (no it is not Starbucks or Whole Foods, just priced like it) then it is not even worth it. So much for keeping the weary travelers eyes wide open with caffeine. Here the sticker shock would do the trick. As a semi truck driver a parking spot for a truck driver are very limited. However this truck stop is clean nice and with many parking spots for you big semi truck. When I drive the whole day the most important part for me is to get my rest. So for that I need to pick a good spot with a good, clean very well taken cared showers and clean parking spots. This truck stop seems like a spot for me. The outside of the truck stop building gets very busy after 8 pm. And until around six or seven am. The inside of the truck stop has many veriaties of the truck clearance light, marker lights , power steering fluid, different kinds of oils. They also have very good and delicious coffee. It also has many many different snacks , chocolate bars, cookies to your coffee. Shower are always clean here. I have never had a problem with this showers or anything else inside that shower room. When you walk in it, it has a bench so you can put all your stuff like your bag and everything you you're taking out from that bad. It has hooks for you clothes inside. Also a toilet and a sink. And of course the inside of the shower they have liquid soap and you're good to go to take shower. I am highly recommend those trucks stops because people actually taking a good care of them. read more

Ever since their remodel, the place is looking much, much better. However, the employees inside the market portion have always been lukewarm at best (at least in my experience). So the customer service hasn't really been all that good. I only stop here 1-2 twice a week when I'm on my way home from Lovelock. I'll fill up my tank and grab a burger from Wendy's. Speaking of Wendy's, the service there is so quick it'll make your head spin. The girls at the drive through are always sweet and my food is always correct and on point. Wendy's is the saving grace of this place. Not sure why they can have good service but the market can't. Getting in and out can be quit a pain as well. During construction of the property, some moron decided that making one single entrance/exit for both vehicles and semi's would be a good idea. The result? Depending on the time of day, the bottleneck of cars and semis trying to get in and out can be a nightmare. Be warned. If you drive for a living and find yourself here, I think you'll appreciate the amenities. They have a large lot in the back just for semis, all the snacks/drinks you could want, clean bathrooms, hot showers, hot food, a mini casino, etc. Plus, the gas prices are typically on the lower end. Pilot Travel Center When stopping at this location for either a quick drink or to top off on Fuel your always in for a surprisingly time. Whether it's good or bad but this visit was pleasant an because I stopped here for a quick drink. But when driving up the parking lot was crowded and the layout of the gas pumps an the parking for customers is kinda awkward but it's not too bad as long as you have people paying attention while driving. But when your finally able to park walking in the store is pretty well laid out. But when I walked in an grabbed a Soda, the fountain drinks is all digital it's pretty awesome! It's like messing with a roulette wheel on an app. Plus your also able to add special flavors to your beverage. (Cherry, Vanilla etc) My favorite is Dr.Pepper with a hint of Cherry an a double squirt of Vanilla it's so good. But one of the perks for the trucks to, is the App and their rewards card. You register with their rewards program you will be receiving ($.03 Off a Gallon) might not seem like a lot but it's a Saving as we head into the warmer weather and gas prices tend to start hiking. Be cautious of overcharges on credit cards. It happened to two of us same day, one for $1 but the other for $70. After calling credit card company, having card canceled (pain the the rear) and then the store who told us we swiped the card twice (didn't and definitely not for $10 more than double the amount) the charge was corrected. This Wendy's has an identity issue. It is on the side of the Pilot Travel Center but the receipt says Pilot not Wendy's. Yelp says it is Pilot too. Atmosphere - Went through the drive thru so not much to rate here. Food Drink - A small Coke, nothing to fancy here. Dinner - My standard Wendy's meal, a #6 a Spicy Chicken sandwich. The combo comes with fries or should I say the salt comes with French fries. I think I just got my sodium for the week. The sandwich was what I would expect. Here he goes again with another gas station review... I know, but sometimes even a gas station can be a Five Star Fantastic experience! So here goes nothing... On a cold, blustery, rainy morning in the late fall, Jade, a big bad lifted 1999 GMC Sierra, departs Reno with Michael at the wheel. It's early...too early, around 3:30AM, but they don't care because they're destined for Mason Valley WMA, one of the best places to take out some ducks in weather like this! Coffee in hand, adrenaline is pumping, and 92.1 The Wolf is coming over the speakers as they head east! Somewhere around 4:00AM the weary travelers slowly pull off the West Fernley exit of I-80, wondering if they'll ever reach their destination. As they slowly reach the bottom of the ramp, they see it. It was like a sign from above, and thanks to that sign, they raced on ahead with a renewed sense of purpose! That sign was literally a sign, the Pilot Travel Center sign saying that regular gasoline was only $2.95! Gas hasn't been this inexpensive in forever, and no place is it cheaper than in Fernley! But the quest for the holy land was not over just yet. There was a huge moat (puddle) filling the entry to the Pilot. Jade and Michael stopped for a quick second to size up the options, and before they could agree Jade barreled through it parting the waters like the Red Sea! They'd made it...safe and sound. Jade got what she was after and Michael went inside to pick up a few snacks and use the exceptionally clean restrooms before taking off for the promised lands in Yerrington. This alone was a journey of biblical proportions...and is to be continued...at Mason Valley! read more

It's a gas station. It is what is expected - most of the time. I have been stopping at this station for many many many years on treks back and forth between Yerington and Reno. The negatives are what really bump the rating down to just A-OK and keep me form being a total fan. Some of the negatives: - There have been times when pumps have been down or are not working correctly. - Many times the squeegees are very worn and just leave streaks on the windshield. - There have been times the water bucket was either empty or very dirty - The lot is often littered with trash and the store is old and dated. - The pump area is a little bit tight and when large vehicles are parked, it is difficult to maneuver. #1 negative for me - exiting the the station can be very hazardous. Turning left and then left again to get back onto I 80 is a bit like the old Frogger video game. I just know one of these days I will get squashed by one of the big semis that use the same access road. Positives: + Gas is much cheaper here than in Reno + If you do have to go inside, staff are friendly + Bathrooms are usually clean #1 Positive - The price posted on the sign is the price you actually pay. Really! You can use your debit card at the pump and get the price as posted on the sign. Recommended stopping spot for gas, bathroom, and other amenities on the trek from Reno to southern destinations. read more

As a WARNING, this Pilot (Flying J) placed a $151 hold on my card when I paid at the pump, plus the charge for the fuel. 5 days after buying gas here, my CC still has the hold... Now, the hold will (SHOULD) go away eventually, but if you only have $100 in your checking account, it'll get held up by this and you might not be able to get food, etc. Also, google $151 hold Pilot and you'll get a ton of hits. Ahhh truck stops... how they've undoubtedly improved over the years, from a bunch of guys on their cb radios with tobacco dripping from their unkempt beards to what we have today - almost a one stop shop for anybody who happens to be coming by. If you want it, they have it - magazines, books, coffee, fast food, fishing tackle, beer, etc. And showers. Apparently that can be a major reason for many to stop by, as seemed to be the case as we dropped into this location for a pit stop one recent Friday morning.... There was a lengthy queue of such demand as we used the facilities, to the point that we had a hard time locating each other afterwards. That didn't bother me so much - after all, when you need a shower, why discriminate against a gas station? The problem lay with the other customers - it seemed like a scene from Mad Max: The Crazy Nevada edition. Or maybe these were West Virginia refugees, looking for mining jobs out West or something. In any case, we were eager to leave. I should add that the spot's employees seemed to be handling the situation well - telling people where to stand in line, knowing how to make change (sadly not a given), and generally managing to keep an even face as opposed to rolling their eyes. Not sure what is the problem is with Pilot or Flying J in Fernley, NV but since the merger talks both these stations have went to hell in a hand basket. Pumps never work right, ie: can't use your rewards card at the pump, the pumps at Flying J asks for your social security number and they are aware of it for at least the last 3 months, it is hit and miss as to whether have to go in and prepay, if you prepay they don't ask you for your rewards card, both places are just filthy all the time now. Today I took a chance on Pilot and low and behold I had to go in, not knowing how much I was going to need I just did $40. The guy behind the counter didn't ask me for my rewards number but the gal next to him asked every customer every time. Went to use the restrooms and they were nasty. $40 didn't fill my car and since I was already pissed off for wasting so much time I left without getting food. With all that being said I went to Love's on the other side of the bridge, was able to pay at the pump with a discount, went in and washed my hand in a clean facility, felt comfortable enough to get food in a clean facility and was treated respectful. I travel through the I-80 corridor daily for work and I would visit both your facilities but after 3 months of pump issues and not able to use rewards card I think I am done and will give my business to Love's read more

We stopped at this gas station to get food and use the bathroom. While my boyfriend was in the bathroom a employee followed him in and told him he need to clean that bathroom stall. My boyfriend found it weird that he could wait two minutes and really knocked on the door when all the other stalls were empty. Few minutes later we are at Wendy's that is inside of the gas station and the guy comes up behind us. The cashier greeted him and he just stood there eating watching us until we left. It's been cleaner since my last review. Prices are very high for the quality--at least regarding in their deli section. My corn dogs were cold and expensive and tea tasted dirty and it cost me 6.00 for something I didn't enjoy. It's basically a joke of a travel center and needs better management. The manager seems afraid of conflict when customers act horrible. I've seen staff do a good job as long as the manager isnt around. Ive seen staff being bad to each other. I've seen great Pilot's before and this one just doesn't compare. Lines are always long with one cashier always asking for help while the other workers are somewhere. They're clearly under staffed. The parking lot is a nightmare. But, I'll stick to my previous statement that this place is a notch above the 711 in town. Best gas station in town is still Quick Stop. read more

I just stopped at the Pilot gas station in Salisbury NC on Peeler road to get gas after dropping my son off from school. A newer Loves gas station moved in right beside this Pilot which I always thought, "Man that has got to be hurting Pilot's business" So i always go to Pilot instead & have been going to this Pilot regularly for over almost 20 years. This morning, I paid for $40 on pump 2. I have had a lot on my mind & just buried my uncle yesterday & made the mistake of getting in my truck and driving off before pumping my gas which i realized a half a mile down the down the road so I hurried back to the pump and a car was pulling off from it. i went inside to see what I needed to do or if the car had took my gas because there was $20 pumped on that pump and the cashier pointed me to the manager named Jason Thillit. I told him what had happened and he didn't say anything but just took $20 out of the register and handed it to me. I was not sure if he was giving me the $20 that had been pumped back and there was still $20 on the pump since I paid $40 or if he was giving me what was left of the $40 since he explained nothing to me. I handed him the $20 back and said, "will you put this back on there or add it to it?", then he replied in a rude and sassy voice, "I am not paying for your mistake". He was dressed all nice and I had pajama pants on with a bleached stained hoody that had a hole in it so I guess he could not resist voicing his discrimination. All he had to do was explain to me what the deal was. I did not expect anyone to pay for my mistake. I have never been talked to or discriminated against at any gas station before like this in man did to me this morning and will be going to Speedway on hwy 29 where they always treat me like a friend from now on. Pilot gas stations will never get my business again and I regret all the business i have already given them. I will be informing everyone I know and leaving all the feedback I can of how Pilot rudely Treats & Discriminates against loyal long time customers. read more
