The inside of the store was pretty empty, as far as people go. As we were looking around we see items on a tray individually wrapped and thawing out, notice wrappers all over the floors, trash is dirty, the self serve area for sugar and cream was dirty, the tables were dirty, the store was just dirty. Our order was simple, with customizations, still simple. Venti vanilla latte extra hot, add toasted coconut syrup. Chai tea, extra hot no classic add toasted coconut syrup. The order came, decently quick and was wrong. The drink was barely warm and was missing toasted coconut syrup and was made with coconut milk. Simple fix. We stepped outside and enjoyed the outdoor seating. A few moments later, my son appeared out of nowhere and walked up on us. We forgot he had our location and joined us. He asked us what we thought of this Starbucks and asked for an honest opinion. I stated what I stated above. I interrupted and asked him if he wanted a cup of coffee before heading back to work. "Mom I don't have it in me to wait 30-45 minutes to get my drink and it'll be wrong anyways, where I'm going there's a Starbucks there, I'll grab my drink, thank you though," was his reply. Fell inline with what we were thinking for our mid day cup. We carried on an entire conversation about how this is the MOST STAFFED and THE DIRTIEST SB we had all ever seen! It was shocking. Drink was fixed, we carried on with our day, but decided to skip coffee there the next morning and drove to Reno to get our coffee instead since we were heading that way. Will I return: NO.. glad my son moved into Reno! Have had great customer service all over Fernley, with one other exception.. so happy he has a few SB's that are staffed, very clean, and get the orders correct where he moved.

I brought in my own reusable cup, and the cashier refused to accept it because there was a tiny speck of water left inside. I've been to countless Starbucks locations where employees have simply given the cup a quick rinse or handled the situation professionally without making it an issue. I was honestly in utter shock. I looked at the cashier and asked, "Are you really going to do this?" Without hesitation, she replied, "Yes, I'm really going to do this." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Instead, I was instructed to take my cup into the public restroom and rinse it there before bringing it back to the counter. The logic was completely backwards. You're unwilling to rinse a reusable cup because of an alleged sanitation concern, yet you're directing customers to wash that same cup in a public restroom--where hundreds of people use the facilities every day--and then bring it right back across the beverage preparation counter. To me, that's the very definition of a double standard. If Starbucks is truly concerned about sanitation, this policy, or at least the way this store enforced it, appears to accomplish the exact opposite. Ironically, while the staff was obsessing over a single drop of water in my cup, the condition of the store itself told a very different story. There were well over two dozen flies buzzing around inside the café. I couldn't stand in the store for more than a few seconds without flies landing on me. It was disgusting. If sanitation is such a priority, perhaps the focus should be on the insects flying around the store rather than a reusable cup with a tiny drop of water in it. To make matters worse, after all of that, I waited nearly 20 minutes for one of the simplest orders imaginable--a regular drip coffee with three added espresso shots. There was absolutely nothing about that order that should have taken that long. As a loyal Starbucks customer, I expect consistency, professionalism, and common sense. Instead, I experienced poor customer service, contradictory sanitation practices, an excessive wait, and what I observed to be an unclean store. This location seriously needs better leadership and training. It was, by far, one of the worst Starbucks experiences I've had, and I won't be returning.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with our questions on the menu, beers, and Harvest Host requirements. This was a good stop on our trip.

I made sure to let him know he was one of the better interactions I've had at this location. I usually try to avoid this McDonald's because of the lack of customer care I've experienced in the past, so I felt Osvy deserved recognition. He's a great representation of customer service and should definitely work the window more often. Per usual, they had me park and wait for the food, but Aspen was also very pleasant and actually thanked me -- which sadly seems rare nowadays. I almost always order the same thing because they truly have the best taco salad. When I order it to go, I always request extra salsa and sour cream. However, the experience seems to vary each time--sometimes I receive pico de gallo, sometimes salsa, and sometimes neither of the items I asked for. I've also noticed that ordering late in the evening usually goes smoothly. The morning, afternoon, and early evening shifts seem to be where the experience is less consistent. At times, I hesitate before placing an order because I wonder whether it will be worth dealing with missing items again. It may seem like a small issue, but when it happens repeatedly, it becomes frustrating. Consistency matters, especially for loyal customers. I hope management can address these issues so every guest receives the same level of service, regardless of the time of day. On this particular night, Rogelio was very helpful in assisting the new cashier/server, Sydney. I also appreciate Sophie, who stepped in towards the end and helped keep things running smoothly. Sydney remained calm throughout, and even though she was obviously new, she was still pleasant and did a good job.

This takes me to the city of Fernley, NV (about 30 minutes east of Reno) where I had the opportunity in trying out "Ranch House Restaurant". This restaurant is adjacent to the "Silverado Casino" which is only a small handful of operating casinos in the Fernley area. We were both very hungry as we ventured through South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City, our appetite grew as the evening went on. After checking into our nearby hotel (which was luckily 1/3 mile from here) and getting washed up, we made it to the restaurant at around 7:15pm on Friday 6/19/2026. Upon entry, the interior layout looks straight out of the 1970's complete with posh booth seating, wood panels, and brick walls in a very spacious dining area. This is quite reminiscent of the old school casino restaurants in the more prominent Reno casino restaurants; mainly Silver Legacy and Nugget. Once seated, we were given two menus and requested an iced water (for myself) and a Diet Coke (for her). One minor drawback which could be a make it or break it for many is that the internal temperature of this restaurant was quite cold. My guess is that it was only around 66°F so if you plan to dine-in, come dressed accordingly! I will say that the menu is quite extensive with ton of options to choose from. This includes appetizers, all-day breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a lot of excellent entrée choices. After making my way through the entire menu of options, I settled with the "Grilled Salmon" entrée (priced at $18.99). This consisted of a house salad, a 6 oz. filet drizzled with balsamic glaze, steamed veggies (mainly zucchini and squash), and I opted for a baked potato (that came with butter & sour cream). She chose their "Old Fashioned Cheeseburger" (priced at $12.99) which came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, & onion on a brioche bun. She opted for cheddar as her choice of cheese and the burger came with a side of seasoned steak fries. Total time took roughly 15 minutes from when we placed our orders to when we received our food. I will say this; the food here is quite delicious. My salmon was a very thick cut and at less than $20 for a salad and full entrée, you absolutely get your moneys worth. The veggies had excellent texture while my baked potato was piping hot. This isn't a 5-star dining experience with a very no-frills atmosphere but it is your above average casino food that is eerily similar to other restaurants that are adjacent to casinos that I've dined at over the decades. Our waitress, Cassandra was very polite and professional while the ambiance, price, and food was definitely above average. My rating for "Ranch House Restaurant" in Fernley, NV is a respectable four stars.
