Waited weeks to be…read moreseen - was seen on a Friday and the visit was fine - nothing that I could not have looked up online myself but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and try it. Visit was on a Friday morning - Monday afternoon I get a text message demanding payment. I am to call the office or stop in person- I am confused because they are in network with my insurance - so I go online and they have not billed my insurance yet. This was all verified with them up front BEFORE I made the appointment. I call and try to politely inquire about what I presume was a text sent in error and I get talked down to like I am daft and do not understand how insurance works. I stated that I would be happy to IMMEDIATELY pay them as soon as the EOB from the insurance is posted. This was unacceptable and the negative tone continued so I requested that they cancel all my future appointments. They then called me to try to 'help' me. No thank you - when people show you who they are, believe them. I have engaged with three different medical providers over the last few months in this area - when my insurance issued the EOB, they notified me and sent a payment link and I paid immediately. I understand that you need to get paid - I have no issue with that at all but this was handled so unprofessionally that I do not trust your care. Thankful there are other providers to choose from and I will be letting my doctor know to not send her patients here. EDITED TO ADD: Your response reinforces that I do not want to have care at your office. I have NEVER had anyone refuse to bill my insurance and ask that I pay first. I plan to let the insurance company know of your process. Also, I spoke to two people today - gentle suggestion to not presume that people are stupid when they call in. Yes, I was told that I would have to pay what was not covered by my insurance - I understand that and as soon as you get around to billing the visit and the insurance company generates an EOB, I will pay you immediately. Instead of apologizing to an upset patient who is now not getting care, you are instead here defending your practices. If you never bill what insurance does not cover, why are you billing me BEFORE you bill my insurance? That would violate my provider contract with BCBS - perhaps the ones for PT practices are different?

He had been feeling unwell--displaying symptoms like fatigue, significant weight loss, and unusual coughing--so we decided to visit her on April 20, 2026. Upon our arrival, Dr. Ortiz introduced her student doctor, who conducted an examination. However, when Dr. Ortiz entered the room, her assessment was alarming. She diagnosed my fiancé with allergies and prescribed allergy medication without considering his more concerning symptoms, such as dark urine resembling tea and unexplained abdominal pain. When he expressed his worries, she dismissed them, suggesting he "train his belly" to avoid nighttime urination and even recommended Googling solutions. Despite my insistence on lab work, Dr. Ortiz refused, citing a previous normal lab from January. This lack of thorough examination and refusal to listen to our concerns was disheartening. Just days later, I had to rush my fiancé to urgent care, where he was found to be extremely anemic and in critical condition, requiring six blood transfusions and eventual transfer to the ICU. The medical teams at Northwest Hospital and the Mayo Clinic were outstanding, ultimately saving his life. They diagnosed and treated a rare autoimmune disease that could have been caught earlier if Dr. Ortiz had conducted a proper examination or ordered the necessary tests. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call for Dr. Ortiz to take her patients' concerns seriously and treat them with the care and attention they deserve. Regrettably, my family and I will no longer be patients at Marana Health Center, and I cannot recommend Dr. Ortiz based on our experience.

Letter written to the state medical board, (And keep in mind…read moreyou do not see or hear all the documentation) I have a serious complaint against my now former provider. My concerns are: 1. Inconsistent information 2. Refusal or delay of treatment 3. Poor communication 4. Misinterpretation of prescribing requirements and then continuing to provide the same information after the issue was questioned 5. Failure to address ongoing symptoms Marana Health in the Tucson area is responsible for all of these concerns. They sent me a letter stating that if I did not communicate with them respectfully they would terminate me as a patient. The times I became frustrated were after they had already dropped the ball multiple times, allowed medications I need to run out, and taken excessive time to respond even when advance requests were made. Most recently I was told that a referral was required before a prescription eye drop could be prescribed. I found no indication that this was a requirement and could not find support for that position through other providers or available information. The medication discussed was Xiidra. My retinopathy specialist explained that he focuses on the back of the eye while dry eye treatment is generally handled by providers who manage the front of the eye. During our discussion he did not express concern about the medication being inappropriate and indicated that my primary care provider could address the issue. The issue discussed was straightforward. My eyes have become increasingly dry due to weather conditions, location, and other medications. Over the counter products were no longer providing consistent relief and I was seeking a more effective treatment so I could continue working without interruption. I then waited approximately five days before receiving a decision. After that delay I was informed that the prescription would not be provided. Had I been informed earlier I could have contacted my eye specialist immediately and explored other options. Unfortunately by the time I received the response my specialist was unavailable. When I questioned the explanation I was again told that a referral was required. My concern is not simply that the prescription was denied. My concern is that I was given information that I believe may have been inaccurate and that significant delays occurred before I was informed of the decision. The issue involved treatment for ongoing symptoms that had already been reported to the practice. The individuals involved included Kathy and Heidi. I believe their handling of this matter was unprofessional and contributed to unnecessary delay in care. I am requesting review of the information that was provided to me, the handling of the prescription request, and the communication surrounding my treatment. I want to be clear that I do not have concerns regarding Dr G. My concerns are directed toward the handling of this matter by the practice and staff involved. Thank you for your time and consideration. Alan Dale

I got an adjustment and felt so much relief, and I decided to add on cupping which was $10 with my insurance. The adjustment is normally $52, but with my insurance it was $20. The office has walk ins, dependable hours, a TV area, a massage chair, and a small play space for kids which makes the visit feel easy and welcoming. I also met with Dr. Yolanda Rodriguez for a naturopathic consult and she was very informative. Their naturopathic services include acupuncture, nutrition programs, hydration IVs, and therapeutic IVs. They also offer esthetic services like lashes, microblading, waxing, and makeup, as well as a massage therapist. These additional wellness services are not covered by insurance, but it is so nice having everything in one place. They also support local artisans in the lobby which adds such a warm touch to the space. I love that their hours are work friendly and the whole team, from the welcome desk to the chiropractors, was very inviting and informative.
