For a year now I have been using this Pinch A Penny for our pool needs. It is a Mom and Pop run location and everyone that works there is super pleasant and very helpful. I bought an electric pool cleaner that was expensive but doesn't clog the filter and makes less wear on the pool motor. Unfortunately after 3 months it stopped working. After checking it out they said the motor went and would get it replaced quickly. They found out that the motor was on back order so they called the rep and told them to send me a new pool cleaner so I wouldn't have to wait for a back order. I bought a home with a pool this summer and previously knew nothing about how to take care of them. I'm very much a DIY kind of person and the new owner, Manny, has been a wonderful resource to have. When I brought my water in for testing, he took the time tell me what was needed, why it was needed, and what it does when I added to the pool. Very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Very helpful. I've struggled with cloudiness for months, took a bottle of water and i was recommended a couple of things -neither was super expensive, ($10 and $20) and the water looks amazing. I was a leslies customer before, and every time i would go there, i would end up leaving with like $200 worth of products and couldn't even use the pool for like a week. read more

NO STARS!! They sold us a pump that does NOT handle our size pool or is a lemon! Came in told the owner that we were not happy and he said the pump if fine! Funny I did not know he saw what it was doing! It turned out pool yellow/green and the water hardly moves! The owner did not want to help resolve the issue did not like that we were unhappy and said I could not recommend them for selling products! Did NOT offer to help us just hand back our items and told to leave! DO NOT BUY PUMPS OR ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP YOUR POOL!!! BUYER BE BEWARE! read more

I usually shop at the 5195 Military Trail location in Delray but happened to be closer to this location and gave it a try for refilling our chlorine jugs. Since the 5195 location usually trades the jugs out I had marked one with a sharpie as it had a hole in it and it had leaked in my car and in garage as I didn't want the next person to have a probleI pointed that out at this location to the person who was refilling it. They and another employee proceeded to make a big deal that there was nothing wrong with the jug. They argued all the way to the car and made a giant stink instead of being thankful for my concern and setting it aside. Could have been a simple pleasant interaction and was nasty for no reason. second time they have provided leaking liquid chlorine jugs. took my two jugs in for refills and purchased a third. the third one leaked and caused a total mess. ruined my pants. this is the 2nd jug that they provided that leaked. the first time, leo, the owner was rude but his wife was pleasant. they say they don't change out the jugs but they do. paid them for a piece of crap jug that leaked. do not purchase their jugs or let them exchange yours, they know they sell leaking jugs and don't care what damage they do! you've been forewarned. terrible place! terrible customer service! read more

5 stars easily for this particular Pinch-a-Penny. I have had nothing but a TREMENDOUS experience with Manny and the rest of the staff here. They have been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and HONEST. I have lived near this location for about a year now. I had actually first tried a different nearby pool supply store. I did not get a "good feel" from that rival store. So, the next time, I tried Pinch-a-penny on Military Trail. It was exactly what I was looking for. They're super friendly and always willing to lend a hand however possible with any questions or concerns I have. For as long as I live nearby, this Pinch a Penny will be my go-to spot for pool supplies and help. I am not a regular 'reviewer' for any stores, restaurants, etc. but when a business is as helpful as the folks at Pinch a Penny have been to me, I am more than happy to leave a review. 5 star recommendation in all ways possible!! read more
