We came here a couole of times ten years ago and enjoyed ourselves. So when we needed a campground in the area for a softball tournament we decided to come back. There are way more seasonal sites then last time we were here. It is the 4th of July weekend so the campground is loud which is to be expected. We had a bit of a issue getting our camper into our site due to the narrow road. The campground could do a better job controling gulf carts which drive on the wrong side of the road and travel the wrong way on the narrow one way streets. The "security" at the gate was over the top. The guy who worked the gate most of the time looked like he just did a bid in state prison down to the prison tats. We had a good time and the issues were minor.

Agree there are better views in other parts of NH but this is ok. Bugs are vicious on certain parts of the trail and better off brining a bug net because someone else posted they don't care if you have bug spray I mean I even walked with can, I would still hike it though I prefer paid for parking on the website it's 5.00$ a person and you can use the whole state park for all day It was full of camps for swimming so if your not a fan of a lot of people maybe this lake is not for you Hope everyone enjoys there time there

The trails passed by marshes, over creeks &, at times, we had to navigate through areas that had some minimal flooding. Signage is practically non-existent, with arrows primarily @ intersections & also kind of confusing where the parking lots are for the trailheads. There is very little blazing on the trees but again, the trail directions are obvious. Not too much indication of wildlife, although, of course, we were in the thick of the trees. The folks at the Visitor Center are super friendly, knowledgeable & helpful.

The staff was very friendly and organized. My children are 8 and 9 years old and they enjoyed themselves. I think this is the most quiet campground I have ever been to. Seemed like about 1/2 the guest if not more we're older couples from Quebec. They very much kept to themselves but would still say hello from time to time. I'm not sure this would be the place for you if you like blasting music and being rowdy or have very loud children. The pool was very nice and kept very clean. The playground could definitely use a overhaul.. not much to it at the moment... but non the less my kids still had fun. The campground is a short ride to the beach. However it was so nice I didn't really feel the need to leave. We will definitely be going back again!

The grounds is so well maintained, the bathrooms are beautiful with outdoor hand washing sinks in one side and dish washing sinks on the other end. Showers are coin but it's only 50 cents for 5 minutes which is MORE than enough time. The showers are small but just enough of what you need to get the job done. The only complaint I would have would be that the shower heads are not adjustable and I am short so I felt like I was getting water out of the shower and directly in my face. But water was hot and so soft. Pet friendly, and neighbor friendly, I felt like everyone we walked by said good morning and was sooo kind. Camp store is greatly priced, and had just what you might need if you forget something. Will deliver wood directly to your site for 7$ a bundle. Maintained quiet hour, driving around to check at 10 to make sure no fires are left unattended. I just loved it! I can't say that I have found a campground yet where I'm like "I need to go back" but this one I did. It's so close to so many local beaches, shops, NH, it's perfectly located , the playground is old but it's just enough, and the POOL is amazing with a super cute gazebo right next to it with chairs and tables. Quiet , perfect, shaded, and affordable
