If it hadn't been for the mouse/rat that ran across the bathroom floor before we went to bed and the numerous droppings from said critter(s) found all over the cabin, including between the pots and pans in the kitchen, the place would have been fine. Because of this unsanitary/health concern, I cannot in good conscience recommend it. It's rustic, but that wasn't the problem. Also, the website needs to be updated as the prices have gone up and even though it says it's dog-friendly, there was no mention anywhere of a charge to bring your dog. We didn't find this out until we were already there. read more

One and two bedroom cabins by the Feather River. Victor the owner goes out of his way to make it a pleasant stay. Each cabin has a great deck and a fully equipped kitchen, with a coffee pot, dishes, pots pans bakeware etc. bathroom has nice towels, soap etc. coffeePhenomenal for large groups. There is a music area, picnic tables and a fire pit. A path leads down to the river for rafting or just hanging out. It's very beautiful. It's a work in progress and every time I've stayed there it's better than before. read more

I love going to these cabins. Far enough away from everything, but about 15-20 minutes to the next big town. Cabins are clean, the host Victor is fun, and will pretty much accommodate anything you may need. Karaoke, Fire Pit, Tubes for the River. They are older cabins for sure, but you pay for the atmosphere. The river is a short walk, and it's a great way to spend your day in the water. OK,we just got back from our favorite vacation spot, the Feather River Canyon, and our hide away, the Pine Aire Resort. Well, it's under new ownership from when we last visited in '07, bought in spring '08, by folks who had been long time patrons just like me n the wifey. Victor and his wife are the new owners who've made lots of improvements to each cabin and made this place a damn near perfect getaway from the stresses of my 40 hr/week. They've installed Direct TV access for every cabin. Now you don't have to deal with just CNN or have to visit the office for some VHS movies unless you want to. You get HBO and other movie channels. Our cabin this trip had a new fridge, and A/C wall unit. Victor plays cool music through some outdoor speakers, and treats his guests to a nightly big bon fire where we can all sit, drink a bit and chat... pretty much enjoy life! Victor, I know you've got big dreams and plans about this place. All I ask is Please, don't go too commercial on us, OK? You are a gracious host, we couldn't ask to be treated any better. We are so glad that folks that appreciate how wonderful the place is, are the ones that took it over. Victor and his wife really make this destination a delight. I call it "camp Pine Aire" and he is the activities director and his wife a native of the canyon, can tell you where the best place to eat, hike, etc. I always enjoy friendly people with an easy laugh. He's got you covered for whatever you want to do: volleyball, badmitton, kareoke (Not sure about the spelling, much less my level of participating in it). The river is warm, as thermals seem to be moving along his part of the river's direction. I'm a big sissy when it comes to dipping in COLD water. So, it was very refreshing without the shock. I enjoyed the inner tubes, and other flotation devices the hosts share with the guests. Lots of fauna, too. Eagles, harmless snake swimming alongside, you... otter's with tales of assertive territorial behaviour and trout "nibbles" on thighs. When you think about coming out, do check in to see if the other guests are going to stay up until 1 am singing, or playing night time frisbee. Let your needs be known and they'll put you in your ideal cabin. The only reason I gave 4 stars for "camp Pine Aire" was for the condition of the cabins. While I understand we came upon them without reservations and they were gracious for putting us up in our improvised get-a-way-from-it-all and much-needed-vacation, there were some things missing. Paper towels, no cups in the cupboard (lots of plates) a leaking refrigerator with a puddle inside, yellow jackets who have their way of making you keep the bathoom window open so they can come and go (or else expect someone wasp-like to tap you on the shoulder), large gaps in the door frame inviting critters to come in and snack on toes at night, kitchen sink was not clean and the coffee maker had old coffee grounds in the filter holder from previous tenants... things like that make a small difference. The sheets were clean, and the beds made, and bathroom towels were fresh and clean. I didn't mind the trains coming through or the logging trucks outside and above the cabin so much.... it's really a sweet place for camping and cutting loose ! I would recommend coming out...call ahead, and tell them Beep Tea Beep sent you. read more

But for that matter Photos in My Opinion take away from the real experience.... This Place is pretty Damn Nice for the Price!!!! $75 for the Single Cabins and they sleep 3 Comfortably. $95 for the Double Cabins that sleep 6 Comfortably. The drive from Oroville ca. up Hwy 70 is pretty incredible... Beautiful Outdoor Scenery.... Once you get there you'll see the sign to your right you can see it really well at night cause it's well lit... Just remember if you got to twain store rd. you went too far by about a mile... Other things to remember. You don't need dishes to cook. There are fully furnished kitchens in each cabin... each having a stove, microwave, dishes, forks, knives,spoons, can openers you name it this place is ready for it.... Come early so you can enjoy the day & pan for gold!!! I hear it's up to $1500 per ounce.... someone found a gold nugget the size of a small penny while i was there... Got Music? Bring your Ipod D.J. Equipment Musical instruments this place is rigged for sound just incase your having a party with about 20 of your best friends...... $2,000 Per Weekend for all of it!!! The 2.5 acres The 7 Cabins The Sound and if you need a photographer for a private affair they have that too.... This coolest thing in my opinion is that the nearest neighbor is a mile away so you can play loud music with no worries !!! Or just relax to the sounds of nature.... If your quiet enough you'll see the deer walk up and relax on the land... I also saw wild turkey there with my own eyes...6 of them at around 6am outside of my window. The new owners are great people... They'll also treat you like family that's a True Blue Quality that should be practiced more often.... The River is REALLY REALLY NICE!!!! This time of year it's Perfect!!! I will be swimming in the River at 5:30 in the morning to room temp water in a couple of weeks.... that's unheard of anywhere in Ca. The hot springs are 3 miles north of this place for 2 bucks all day!!! Are you a Football Fan? This place also has the NFL Ticket! Along with Cable t.v. Bring Musical Instruments etc. this place has a way to hook up for a live Jam! You wanna talk to Victor ....530-283-1730 Oh Yeah there is a Festival in July Called The High Sierra Music Festival In Quincy ca. about 17 miles north of Pine Aire... Along with other Music Festivals in Beldon during the summer So if you plan to go there make sure to get a cabin before or after the festival.... My. husband and I were at the Pine Aire cabins in Twain for part of our vacation. The cabin was filthy. They only left 1 roll of toilet paper, , no paper towels or napkins, the shower curtain had mold on it as well as the shower, the floors were filthy as well as the carpetinfg. There was no cleaning of the rooms and the owner never came by to see if we needed anything. The pictures on the website is very deceiving and I would not recommend you stay at PineAre. The price was too high for what you got. Never again. read more

I recently stayed at the Pine Air Resort for 4 nights & loved it. There are 6-7 rustic cabins nestled along the Feather River where it is just so peaceful & beautiful. Dogs are welcome & free to play off leash if well behaved. Pine Aire's proprietor, Victor, is a warm, friendly host with a wonderful spirit. He & his wife want everyone to feel welcome & relaxed during their stay & without being intrusive at all, they make themselves available for anything you may need. Prices are fair & reasonable. Cabins are plenty comfortable with good kitchen facilities, tv/vcr, hundreds of videos, picnic tables outside, etc. The cabins themselves are rather weathered & could use upgrades in some respects. I loved Pine Aire just as it is though. It's unpretentious & old-fashioned in all the best ways. read more

In reply to Candace A. 1 star review. She "trespassed/Broke into" not 1, but 2 cabins, she pulled dishes out of the cupboards and caused damage. She refused to vacate one of the cabins she broke into, stating that only her boyfriend, Alan, or the Police could get her to get out. When her daughter and son in law showed up, he told me that I should call the police and tell them that she is a 5150. In the cabin that she was renting, she was here for 8 nights and 9 days, she tore out all the kitchen blinds, pulled all lamp shades off the lamps, pots, bowls, dish strainers and threw them out of the front door. she had melted candle wax on the kitchen floor, and the kitchen counter, she had Cornmeal thrown all over the kitchen counters, table and floor, etc. The other owner, Joann, came over and saw the damages that Candace had made. And what normally takes 45 minutes to an hour to clean a 1 bedroom cabin, took over 7 hrs to clean the cabin she rented! pictures and videos were taken of all three cabins that she ransacked and tore up. read more

Was arrested for entering an unlocked cabin at this resort to check it out while staying in another cabin on the property. Beautiful, but ai would not recommend it.I also was not asked to sign any cabin,rental,agreement, but caretaker charged me for a week I did not stay there, Am in,the,process,of,disputing,these charges.
