First of all go Google pine Hill tree service or their phone number they're arborist license is suspended. Very careless they did damage to my neighbor's fence and did not fix it they put oil stains from their truck all over my new driveway that I finally did after 25 years. The guy came back and started yelling I want my money and was throwing his tools in his truck and please keep in mind I have the ring doorbell The ring camera and you see and hear everything. All he did was yell I need my money but (what I don't get is every single of my neighbors used him he left everything pristine, they were proper, they were carefu!)l but they did four trees by me they left so much damage on my property, on new my driveway, My neighbor's fence got broken and they left branches and debris in his pool and did not clean it up, they left holes all over my property they left branches you name it they left it behind, do not use these people as I said Google their company or their phone number and put arborist and they are suspended. read more

On 10/7/25 Pine Hill removed large limbs, 4 fir trees, and cleared all branches which were growing over our electrical lines in a very professional manner. The four men were hard working and friendly. I was impressed by their cleanup and very happy with our final bill. Very reasonable! They even did one request which was not included in the estimate. The rates were good and the initial work was done quickly. However, it's been several days since they finished and they have yet to remove two very large tree trunks they placed on my front lawn. My only gripe is that they don't finish the job (removal) in a timely fashion even after getting paid. Cannot recommend them. read more

I had an appointment for an estimate on a Friday at 3 pm, and received a voicemail from the owner, Kevin, at 2:45 pm stating that there was too much traffic on the highway leading back up to his office, so he didn't want to have to drive down for the estimate because he didn't want to sit in traffic afterwards on the way back to his office. He also stated that his wife (receptionist) should not have made the appointment in my area at that time of day, and to call back the office to schedule another time. I found this to be extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate giving the fact that re-arranged my schedule and left my office early to meet Kevin for the appointment, and he decided to call me 15 minutes prior to our appointment to cancel because he didn't want to sit in traffic afterwards. I had used Pine Hill Tree service in the past and was a repeat customer, but I will NO longer use them or recommend them after this incident. Kevin, I hope the extra twenty minutes you saved on your Friday afternoon was worth losing thousands of dollars in business and referrals. read more

I have used their services 3 or 4 times over the past several years. The prices are very competitive, the work is impeccable. They just removed a huge tree that was nestled between my house, deck, and new fence. Not a scratch on anything !!! Clean-up was perfect, trunk was cut almost flush to the ground !! We have used Pine Hill twice and we were very pleased both times. Kevin, the owner, the office people, and his workers are all wonderful and easy to talk to. The prices are fantastic - we had a few estimates and they were the cheapest. But that doesnt mean that they do cheap work.! The workers did a fantastic job and made our backyard look beautiful! They sure know how to trim trees!! And I have to say, they are very 'caring' as well. In one of our trees that we had removed a family of racoons was inside. The workers gently took out each baby racoon and placed them in a box that they fiiled with leaves and shrubbery. I would highly recommend this company! And if you were wondering, the mother did return for her babies.! Thank you Pine Hill!! read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. In May of 2013, they removed trees from my neighbor's property. Without my permission, they parked their heavy equipment, truck and crane, on my sidewalk. After they left I noticed they had damaged my sidewalk. It was cracked in some areas and sunk into the ground in others. I immediately contacted them and the run around began. They originally sent one of their employees to look at the damage and after many phone calls back and forth they agreed to send me a check to cover the damages. They never sent the check and stopped returning my phone calls. I emailed the President of the company, Kevin Calderone, three times and he never replied to my emails. In August I took them to Small Claims Court. They did not appear and I won a default judgment. Their attorney then petitioned the court to get the judgment vacated because supposedly they had sent the notice for court to him and he never received it so he did not appear on their behalf and they should not be held liable for that. We were provided another date and, upon arrival in court, their attorney requested and received an adjournment. They requested a trial which we had in October and they lost and I was awarded a judgment. As of this date, January 29, 2014, I have not received payment. The Bergen County Court Officer attempted to collect the judgment and they would not pay it. While investigating them further to determine what assets they have as requested by the Court, I learned that they run their business out of their home at 27 Pine Hill Road in Saddle River and park their trucks at another location on Whitney Street in Mahwah. They also have their bank account under the name Kevrich Corporation an alternate trade name they use. I cannot speak to their work in tree removal but it doesn't matter even if they do a good job because if they damage your property while working for you, they will not pay the damage - even when the court orders it. Do not do business with this company. There are many other, reputable tree services out there. One very good one is Ken's Tree Service in Saddle Brook. read more

I had a great experience with Pine Hill! I had an estimate written up a week or so before Hurricane Sandy( and of course never got around to scheduling the appt for the actual removal). I called them in a panic 2 days before Sandy was due to hit our area and they came the next day, which was on the weekend! They told me they were taking customers who had received previous estimates as a priority and they were doing their best to get all of their customers done before the storm. They honored their original estimate and didn't charge extra for "emergency service", which I probably would have paid at that time. They saved us...one of those trees would have definitely come down in that storm. Their prices were very reasonable in comparison to other tree services.
