Apparently they have two different clubhouses but only one is female friendly. Hmm. Not sure how I feel about that, but oh well. Plus you can't wear jeans here. Whaaaatttttt. Luckily I had brought a skirt with me otherwise I would've been screwed. Apparently there was some kind of golf outing that day so the clubhouse was basically dead and we were the only people there aside from the workers. This place, considering it's a golf course, has some pretty legit food. We had the mac and cheese bites, which were great. Then I had some pulled pork sliders that had gouda cheese and grilled onions on them, which were fabulous. But the main thing I guess people love is their homemade potato chips. They were amazing. After we ate, we just relaxed on some of their couches and watched college football for a few hours. There were a few other people that came and went, but overall it stayed pretty slow like when we got there. My friend did take us on a little bit of a tour of the area around the clubhouse, and everything looked super nice. I'm not really a golfer so I can't really say whether or not the course looked good or whatever. Seemed like a nice place overall.

And the coordinators did NOT communicate. Luckily we were able to find a new venue last minute! I hope no other bride has to try and work with this dysfunctional facility, too bad it is beautiful building and is close to home. The untrained staff make this place a HUGE NO!! At least we got our deposit back.

Mike helped me understand (very rudly) that I may have been speaking with golf now and should have asked for the pro shop. I called the pro shop. I am extremely surprised I now have to get my attorney involved to get my money back for nine holes that they wouldn't let me play due to their mistake. then being rude about it. already a sad day and now we were robbed by a golf course.

There was no personal space between myself and the two individuals next to me. The space for the dance floor was really small and I feel like it could barely fit half of the guests. The dinner itself was not great. The salad with a sweet vinaigrette and apples was lovely, but the salmon was way too overcooked and the potatoes were hard and flavorless. Definitely could use more gravy. The steak was cooked medium rare and the best part of dinner (but I heard differently from individuals of other tables). However, I enjoyed the bacon wrapped in cheese (?) bites during the cocktail hour along with the coconut shrimp and shrimp cocktail (the tall shot glasses that the shrimp came in was so thin that it was hard to dip the shrimp in the small amount of cocktail per serving). The cocktail hour food was the best and the late night fries were pretty solid, too. There is a lot of space for people to walk around and mingle outside of the room we were in for dinner. Overall, Oakhurst was alright. I'd recommend looking elsewhere if you're looking for a place to host your wedding if you have options.

It was a shotgun start, 4 person team event. We started on hole 16 and when we got to hole 8, he told my team that we needed to pick up the pace and that we were 2 holes behind pace. This was absolutely not true as we could always see the group ahead of us. We got to hole 9 and he turned the sprinklers on at the tee box and told us we had to skip the hole. He accompanied us to the hole 10 tee box, where we passed the group ahead of us because they were still finishing 9. As soon as he left us he went back and turned the sprinklers off. So, now we had to wait. It completely ruined the experience for us to the point that we could not enjoy the remainder of the day. I thought he targeted us, but when I spoke to staff members, they said he ruins everyone's time here. They said that he ruins their tips because he upsets so many people. I have no idea why someone like this would be permitted to work in the hospitality field. This was over a $600 round for my team and we feel completely robbed of the experience. Such a beautiful track and the greens rolled so good, but once someone upsets us that much, its hard to relax and focus back on the game. Especially when he kept poking around. I reported the interaction and the pro shop manager said to ga back and play 9, but we were so over it by then. I have reached through the website to see if they will make it up to us. Have yet to receive a response. Very disappointed...

"Review #500" :-D…read more October 31, 2024 On Friday October 4th I attended a Beautiful Fall wedding at The Pine Knob Mansion for My Dear and Close friends Phil & Jessica. The main road entrance starts with a welcome sign to Pine Knob Golf Course. The winding road will lead you pass the greens with golfers, then several expensive residential homes. There are two venue banquet buildings called The Carriage and this one called The Pine Knob Mansion. Both have valet parking service at their entrance doors. My photos attached will show how wonderful this place was from start to finish. The ceremony was outside in the Garden Gazebo area overlooking the ski lifts and property of Pine Knob with fold up chairs on the grass area. This venue can accommodate all seasons of the year for many memorable and personal events. The outdoor brick patio was large enough for both cocktail hour after ceremony and again in the evening with a DJ for music and dancing. The Bride and Groom performed their special dances together on it plus with their parents. The wedding and party time continued till midnight! The efficient servers were very attentive when eating the plated sit-down dinner. They also served refill of waters quickly too. The Formal banquet room was very elegant with Chiavari Chairs, along with great lighting. Check out my attached photos of Jess and Phil's special and lovely wedding which expresses it all! The Food was Fantastic and Oh My Deeeelicious along with Great plate presentation! This location can be found on The Knot and has different price packages based on your event for food and desserts. My Friends Phi and Jess opted to bring in their own seasonal desserts with cider and donuts along with mini parfait desserts for that special Fall Style Theme. My photos attached shows a wooden wall with pegs on it for displaying the variety of donuts. What a wonderful and impeccable wedding venue for Phil & Jessica. *WEDDING VENUE REVIEW*…read more We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception here, as well as our bridal party photos, and we couldn't have been any happier with the results! We stumbled on this place via a Facebook advertisement. We had been trying to find another venue to move to because our current one was not cooperating because of pandemic uncertainty. After talking with Haley in person about our day and what we were looking for our of this place, we absolutely could not pass it up. The only day they had available for the Fall was the day we were going to get married on, September the 11th. Working with Haley throughout our journey to the big day was very easy and we experienced no issues the entire time with any of the planning, coordination with vendors, or anything that kept changing on our end that we needed to communicate with. We were offered a food tasting with our families, then got to have our rehearsal dinner here as well. Even on our big day, we had the ceremony and reception in the same place. On our big day, I was working on a lot of the last minute set up or overviews of the venue while my wife was getting ready. Everything was absolutely perfect, and the staff here kept me as calm as I could have been. The ceremony looked beautiful as well as the reception. All of the coordination was done correctly and efficiently. Our guests who attended the wedding regularly talk about how beautiful it was as well as how great the food was! We could not have asked for a better experience and a better day for our wedding. Very impressed with how efficient and prepared this venue was to host an event.
