With no rental cars available at our landing destination in Delaware, we made the journey to Philadelphia to rent a car. We had a lot of ground to cover, visiting family in NJ and GA--with Georgia as our final stop. After a frustrating experience in Philly (more on that in another review), I ended up having to return the car in Georgia. I initially went to the Albany, GA location, which showed as open online--but to my surprise, it was permanently closed. Tired, stressed, and running on only 3 hours of sleep, I was desperate to find a real person to help. Customer service was no help--just endless automated responses. That's when I called Hertz in Valdosta, GA, and was connected to Lauren. She was patient, kind, and understanding. She simply said, "Bring the car here--we'll take care of it." And they did. When I arrived, Lauren and her supervisor (whose name I sadly can't remember) were professional, compassionate, and efficient. They reviewed the car, confirmed the pre-existing damages using the time-stamped photos I had taken, and closed out my rental without any hassle. After such a rough experience, their level of care and attention meant the world to me. I may be on the fence about renting with Hertz again overall, but if you're in the Valdosta, GA area--this location is truly top-tier. Thank you, Lauren and team, for your incredible customer service and humanity during a stressful time.

I have always been loyal to Hertz as a gold member and never retracted my membership until renting…read morefrom Valdosta, GA airport location. It was only the beginning, when upon my pickup, the rental car only had 1/4 tank of gas and I had to find a gas station before I could begin my out of town trip, but then multiple electrical problems caused issues with the lights going on and off on a long, dark stretch of I-10. Also, the rental agreement showed me picking up the car at 8:30 AM WITH a full tank of gas (I got it at 3:00 PM). I contacted Hertz after returning the car and they took off some credit and sent me a $100 voucher toward my next rental. I thought this was the end of it....... 6 weeks later I receive credit card alert that they were attempting to charge my card $425.00??????? I called Herz and they say they can't find a bill and don't know why I'm being charged. Notified my card company and have to cancel the card and begin accounts again with a new card number (after disputing this charge). Another month goes by and BAM there is the $425 charge AGAIN on my new card!! Back on the phone, emails, etc....... Getting no where. Come to find out from researching other people's complaints that Hertz would turn their information over to a third party company (automatic traffic solutions ) and I was "suppose" to receive a citation or something if I had ran a lights, toll booth, etc. Of course I never did. Hertz told me to contact ATS and type in my rental agreement number to see my violation.... Tried multiple times and kept getting message that "no citation could be found for this agreement number". Back to messages to Hert, asking Please please help me resolve this. Credit card company was investigating ,,,,, hertz was investigating (finally) went on and on. Yesterday I receive an email from Hertz...... Our research found that based on the mileage on my return rental car and the location of these "non paid tolls" my car couldn't have possibly ran those tolls......THEY MADE A MISTAKE!!!! OOPS!!!! Sorry you have wasted months trying to resolve our FU. Sorry we didn't listen to our long standing customer when she said it wasn't her. I immediately notified my card company of the admitted fraud attempts by these "crooks" so they could further investigate them, along with copy of correspondence to the CEO of Hertz, along with request to immediately "loose me from Hertz information". They put these hidden transponders in their cars that are impossible to deactivate. They can not competently keep their information together and we the customer have to do the footwork to uncover their negligence. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ VALDOSTA

The customer rep was very helpful especially in helping a newcomer car renter like me with which gas plan to choose. They gave me the keys, told me where the car was parked and off I went. I was over half way to Live Oak, Florida before I realized I was so excited to get to my destination that I forgot to pick up my checked bag!!! The car was clean, performed well, and even though I paid for a full tank, I returned it still half full. AND, I forgot to ask for my AAA discount. Perhaps your agents could ask out of courtesy in the future. Linda
