Took 2 steps and these are my socks after walking on the floor

I think it's easier to share what was good rather than bad lol. We were there for Xmas Eve-Saturday (today) i understand the restaurant just got going again new menu whatever but that's your job you should've been training on your new systems and leaning the menu somewhat which for the most part I think they understand they just have poor time management maybe I'm not sure. The service really wasnt that slow for new menu etc our waitress was kind and very apologetic and tried to take the time to make sure she got everything correct she was great! My food didn't have items it said it came with and it was way too garlicky (Mac and cheese). Now this is out of anyone control and was just a design flaw when they built it but it's such a hike to get to the rooms (at least the mountain haus) I have to make sure I don't get hit by skiers on the lift while lugging my shit up to my room. It's a hill, it's snowy, slushy, icey I get it's a mountain I get it but somehow it's gotta be easier to lug that shit up! It's dog friendly (great) no where to really take them to use the bathroom though u have to walk through snow, salt ( bad for their paws) or up the mountain and get hit by skiers or get tired hiking up lol. Maybe make a designated area idk. Rooms are fine generally speaking they tried to give upgrades to hide age fine but maybe put effort in? U can tell they wanted to spend the least amount of money and hired unqualified people. The entire floor everywhere throughout the house was covered in some kind of dust particle it made all my socks dirty but if u don't wear socks your feet get dirty and grimy and I don't wanna wear shoes I only brought boots my feet get hot. I know it's hotel style but the mountain haus has HOUSE in the name it has a full kitchen provide more pans pots etc. no garbage bags either just th one shitty thin one. You need to provide more for the shitty reservations u did but the prices don't reflect the age/ work. The dishwasher wasn't emptied upon arrival and many dishes left dirty also makes a lot of noises so does the heating units the beds also definitely aren't fully clean they leave some sheets out of the wash. OMG dead bugs by all the heaters too didn't get a picture bc I was livid and cleaned them up right away. This place sucks don't waste your money unless you're fine with dirty accommodations. Workers were also just mingling while I'm clearly standing at your desk needing help. Did not like my experience here at all.

The ambience to the restaurant was nice and it felt clean and updated inside. I can't recall the exact price of everything, but I do recall that everything was priced as I would expect. Definitely not overpriced and everything was in line with the average rate. All the food was great. The cheeseburger was great including the bun. Sometimes you don't do so well with those. Someone else got macaroni and cheese which was awesome. I actually was a little surprised that it tasted so good because that is an always so great and restaurants. The pizza got great reviews by people. And a few other males did well. The couscous meal was ok. Now for the people. I will acknowledge that finding help these days is very difficult post pandemic. There was a younger teenage girl working as the hostess. While she may be young, somebody really does need to train her on customer service. She initially told us that they were waiting for two table tops of 16 even though the two tables of 16 had already been seated. She told us that we would not be able to eat for an hour but we cannot get a table for another hour and a half. Obviously this doesn't make any sense. You have to have a table 1st and then you can eat. She told us it would take an hour and a half for the six of us to be seated even though there were plenty of tables open. The thing that makes this bad, is even if she was totally mistaken, and totally wrong, she was very rude the entire time. There was no smile, her tone of voice was pretty crabby, and she definitely did not make you feel like she was going to do anything to try to make it work for you. She seemed somewhat grouchy and irritated that you were coming in to eat. I would have no issue if she had said this and clearly been wrong, but her tone of voice and everything about her customer service was wrong. She did not appear friendly and definitely did not smile or look like she was trying to accommodate. She presented like a sulky teenagers. After giving a few solutions to the hostess of how we could use one of the several open tables available, she finally figured out how we could be seated immediately since there were so many tables open. We ended up being served by Thale, Who is a total gem. She saved the meal. The server was not only nice, polite, and friendly, she was humble and made you feel welcome. A far cry from the hostess a few feet away. The server was on top of her game, refilling drinks, and stayed very on top of our meal to make sure that we had everything we needed. She was charming and made the meal awesome. I would definitely come here again and I would hope that somebody in management considers talking to their hostess about how to provide better customer service. Other than that, everything else was great. The server should be acknowledged for her friendly and outgoing attitude. The food is great so nice job to the cooks on the line.

The girl (wouldn't call her a waitress) came back with the coffee pot and no cups. So off she went again. Finally accomplishing her first ask, the next challenge was to deliver our food. The food order came out correctly but I think it may have sat under the heat lamp for awhile. Again girl, this is kind of what you are supposed to do, serve customers at a restaurant. And don't plan on getting anything extra like catsup, creamer, jelly, sugar, etc. it was a busy morning at 9am with two other tables, in an otherwise empty restaurant, that seemed ignored as well.

We were never at any point offered a helmet. Didn't know they were available. We did appreciate the care he received by the ski patrol. - Wish there was a shorter ski pass option available. It was my mistake to assume skiing conditions would be OK on an icy March day, but I ended up skiing all of 30 mins. in very poor conditions and spending $300 on three of us to ski and take a short snowboard lesson. - Love the "Learn to" package deal. It was confusing when and whether this was offered, but once we determined it was, we really appreciated the intro lesson. - Ski rental -- the person working here did not set up my bindings correctly and I had to go back and have him fix it. - Apparently there was a group of people sitting in the lodge laughing and making fun of the inexperienced skiers falling. Not the fault of the ski hill, but just thought people might like a heads up about the culture and clientele this place might attract. Won't be returning here next time we're in the UP. Just not a great vibe overall. People really should be ashamed of this kind of behavior. It's not the Michigan that I grew up in.

Majority of the hills are blue square and black diamonds, this wasn't a problem for us be could for others. Three lifts, not busy when I went on a weekend. 4 stars because both days we went it took well over a half hour-hour to get my boyfriends rentals. They were not busy at all I just think they need to be more organized with how they have it set up due to covid. They also got his gear out when he bought lift tickets at 8:30am. They left his gear for an hour and a half outside and didn't give him warm boots. Overall, definitely check this place out. Tons of fun.
