I know times change but I bought a golden from here 12 years ago. The mere fact that she is the first golden I've had that lived this long is a testament to her breeding. She still acts like a puppy & swims almost everyday for 1- 2 hours (we bought her a beach house in Florida). Our last golden loved agility so we requested one with spunk . She spent a year in training perfecting agility. At her first, & second competition, she refused to make the first jump. All the begging & coaxing meant nothing. She just wanted to go to the beach, so that's what we did. She has been a perfect dog. We love her immensely. read more

I don't know what could have happened at Pine Ridge Goldens. My experience was good even though I never visited the facility. I got my precious medium sized golden doodle OLIVER back in January 2017. Oliver was born on October 28, 2016. His mentality is very sweet, calm, smart, and loving. He is the best dog ever. Perfect behavior. Most people tell me OLIVER should be a therapy dog. He loves attention and people. I also got a second medium golden doodle SAMSON for my mom back in November 2018. Samson was born September 30, 2017. He is a little larger in size but also very sweet, and loving. These two dogs I have gotten from Pine Ridge Goldens have been the best dogs ever. I did lots of research on doodles before I took a chance on adopting a family dog. I would never hesitate to add another family dog from Jason Munn, Pine Ridge Goldens because of my wonderful experience. Both Oliver and Samson are healthy, happy and no health problems with great personality. Both always go to the vet and get groomed. All dogs have different personalities. Something must have changed or happened over the years. I believe that Jason Munn always allowed his dogs the freedom to roam around his big 20 acre farm. Did a fair amount of research before even calling PRG. Wife really wanted a Golden Retriever, I'm more a Labrador man. We lost our Golden two years ago and our Lab two months ago and our house has been so quite we could not take it any longer. It was too soon for me to get another Lab so I found this place. Spoke with Jason, the owner, for quite a bit of time and happened to have one female and one male (from two separate litters) available in a week. We wanted a female so we decided to take a trip up to Floral city to check her out. Unfortunately as we were half way there Jason called us and told us that someone had put a deposit on the female (site unseen from a former client). Well we said what the heck and kept driving to see the place as he told us there would be another litter ready in a month, at least we could check out the parents. We arrived at his kennels next to his house on a huge 22 acre property. They breed golden retrievers, standard poodles (and thus goldendoodles) and huskies. He has five breeding pairs of each. Jason is a fairly educated man as he used to be a principal in the Pinellas school system until he got fed up with the politics. So he does this full time and not as a hobby. He has a lot of knowledge concerning breeding, genetics, and care of the dogs. I was impressed with this and this made me more comfortable with him and his dogs. He does not pen up the adult dogs, rather he lets them roam on his 22 acres filled with dog trails and he is happy to show you around and will let you meet the parents of the puppies. He also socializes the puppies, crate trains them, starts the immunization process, and microchips them before they leave. So we met the male and fell in love with him. He was actually a mix of English golden retriever (light cream color, smaller than American and actually genetically is closer related to the original golden) and an American golden (darker, larger). He was the only one in the litter. So even though we wanted a female, like our last golden, he was too cute not to take him. We put a deposit on him as he was not ready to go and went back a week later after he was cleared by the vet and got his health certificate. Jason does not breed show dogs but apparently all the parents do have a show pedigree. Like I said, Jason is very knowledgable, friendly and transparent. He truly care about his dogs and takes good care of them. He gives a two year guarantee on his pups without conditions, some other places make you use the same food etc... so that also puts me at ease. I would highly recommend PRG if you are in the market for the breeds he has. read more

Jason is not a reputable breeder. His 2 year guarantee against genetic defects is a fallacy. My 1 yr. old puppy has been through over $8000 worth of medical procedures that keeps rising due to his genetic defect of dwarfism. I called Jason to tell him that I had to take my dog to see a specialist due to the orthopedic problems he had because of this defect.My vet recommended that I take him to the University of Florida to see the top veterinary orthopedic surgeon in the country, Dr. Dan Lewis. Jason said he wanted to see documentation ( No problem). I sent him the records that stated that our pup needed surgery to correct his deformed legs , due to his dwarfism. Jason basically ghosted me. I finally got a hold of him after a few months and he claimed he had no money to make good on his guarantee. I said I would give him some time and would try to work with him but he will not take my calls or answer my texts. A real breeder does not do business this way. Steer Clear! read more
