We did a Board and Train for our 5-year old hound mix, Gregor. He's a bit rambunctious and stubborn, but Adam was very patient with our "little" Greg! I adopted a large chocolate lab puppy without realizing how young he was. After being constantly almost knocked over, having my arms totally scratched up and puppy bites all over my arms - I say puppy bites but I was seriously bruised - Adam came to my rescue. I don't know where to even start... my dog is just a little over a year old, about a month ago he got into a little bit of a fight with another dog. I was extremely concerned and worried that my dog had now created a bad habit and I knew even though he's not bad I didn't have the control I needed to prevent anything like this from happening again. Let me introduce Arlo, he's a very shy and skittish Catahoula mix, he's so sweet but very scared of new people and terrified of loud noises and things he's never experienced. Going into his training he knew basic commands like sit, come, lay. I chose to get Arlo trained so that I could have better control. I was terrified I was gonna chose a trainer that wouldn't give Arlo and I what we needed. I definitely went in not knowing what to expect. Adam and his wife started off very strong with communication and after Arlos day 1 I had 100% confidence that this was right for us. Adam is VERY good with dogs he knew EXACTLY how to approach Arlo (a very scared dog) on day 1. It was the first time I hadn't seen Arlo really bark at a person. Adam's energy is very calm and collected which is very important especially to a fearful dog. After every day of Arlos training Adam would explain and demonstrate a little of what Arlo was learning and every question I asked was answered. Throughout my whole experience there was one thing that really stood out and it was Adam's ability to truly understand every dog he's worked with. He was able to understand Arlo and his needs. Arlo was not just "another dog" he had individuality to Adam. Within 10 day Arlo was able to learn so much and after 5 of those days I was able to tell a big difference. Truly it's change not only my life but arlos, and it's for the better! This is such an amazing training program and is all thanks to Adam. A bonus I was extremely happy about was that Adam took Arlo out to practice his training. Now not only did arlo learn, i learned a lot too and I'm so excited to apply and continue what's been taught. We have a rescue dog that had many of the typical bad traits, and then some. We selected Campbell's training and signed up for the two week course, The course was two hours a day for 9 days, then a final at our house. Each encounter with Adam was punctual, professional, and very comforting. He would review a few things each time we picked up our dog, and we were feeling good about the session at our house. Adam and Susanna are fantastic!! We sent our unruly adopted Airedale to them for a 3-week training and he came back a much more civilized fellow. Susanna sent us lots of pictures and updates while our boy was gone, and Adam spent extensive time debriefing us on how our dog did and then training us to carry on the training while at home. We sent our dog for a tune up after a few years and also boarded him with them on several occasions too. We have always found them to be extremely professional, reliable, and communicative - and they obviously LOVE all the dogs. On several occasions, we've run into a difficult situation with our dog and Adam is always available to talk with me. He is generous with his time and expertise, both of which I'm immensely grateful for. I'm sad they have moved down to Florida and our dog can't board with them any longer!! read more

Our mini goldendoodle, Maggie, went to the Campbells for the 3 week, e-collar training in 2018. We had outstanding results and couldn't have been more pleased with the care and coaching Maggie received. Cut to a year later when my husband and I were going to be traveling out of the country for several weeks - we thought immediately of the Campbells to look after Maggie while we were away. For a good portion of the time she was there just as boarder and for the last 7 days, she went to a refresher training course with Mr. Campbell. When we picked her up, she was vastly improved in her healing, down stay and importantly in her self-control of jumping (our biggest problem). This second round of training really helped because she's a bit more mature and I could tell her training was taken to the next level. The Campbells are easy to work with, absolute professionals, incredible dog trainers and most importantly, it's clear they care about your dog as much as you do. Adam met with me at the boarding kennel that I manage to help me learn how to effectively work with a rescue dog who had some undesirable behaviors that needed to be resolved before he could go on a transport to his adoptive home in NH. The entire experience was incredible! Adam built an almost instant repoire with the dog, and by the end of the session, the dog was appropriately responding to every single command given and walking beautifully on a loose leash, and he continues to do so with me when I work with him. Adam has a great energy with dogs, is very friendly and personable and extremely knowledgeable. Adam and Susanna are nothing short of awesome. We brought our black lab to them because of her inability to walk without pulling on the leash until she choked and jumping on people when greeting them. We enrolled her in their two week course and the results were amazing. We had a great deal of communication before meeting with them which took place with our lab. The entire process was outlined and any questions we had were answered. The hardest part was not having our lab around for 2 weeks and not being able to see her, but they kept in communication giving us updates. When it was time to pick her up we met in one of their training rooms which was very task oriented and perfect for the process. What was amazing was when we were reintroduced to our lab she was very disciplined and responded to her commands, yet still had the personality we had come to love about her. Adam also gave us our "training" which was crucial in the process. Today our lab is playful and full of personality plus walking is a treat and we are even 100% comfortable with her off-lead which would have been impossible without the training. She walks by our side, listens to commands such as heel, sit, stay and down. Whenever we must leave her behind for a trip we have her boarded with them whom she is always excited to see and never even looks back when leading them into their house. What a difference 3 weeks makes! We adopted litter mates Benny & Joon this summer from a super rescue (Small Miracles) who extracts dogs weekly from high-kill shelters in West Virginia. They were both complete sweethearts, but Joon was a terrible jumper and the two of them were always in their own little world (comforting, playing, and listening to one another--not us). Previously, we always held our breath outside when we'd let them off leash on property to run and play, hoping they would NOT get distracted by something and bolt, until the day that's precisely what happened. To our horror, Benny spotted something and they disappeared for hours into neighboring woods right in the middle of deer hunting season (did I mention they were fawn and white colored)? After that, they were restricted to their leashes outside at all times. So, off to Campbell's Canine they went. Years prior, Adam trained our other two rescues and we were completely happy with the results. But these two sweethearts were a different story--strong prey drive and completely bonded to one another given what they had been thru. After the 3 weeks of training, we're all in a completely different place. Not only have they learned basic commands and have become disciplined on-leash walkers, but now they take their cues from us rather than one another. And we can let them out off leash outside to run and play with one another with a whole new level of comfort around being able to manage them. Just having the e-collars on them keeps them focused on what's ok with us. We've broken into their little bubble! They keep an eye on us for direction and they come back when called (rather than us having to run after them and grab them by the collars to stop wrestling and to drag them back inside). Ironically, the e-collars actually allow them to play and exercise so much more freely and with a lot less stress on both of us. From Small Miracles to big miracles in West Virginia! After three weeks we picked up a dog we barely recognized because she was so obedient, controllable and listened to us. I tell people, you will spend the same amount of money over 6 to 12 months working with group classes or private trainers. Get it all done in three weeks and feel much better immediately when you are at home with your dog. Yes, it takes continued work to ingrain the training in her normal home and surroundings, but she is trained and she listens and she knows. I took my dog Georgie, a boxer, to Campbell's Canine Camp and they did a marvelous job! He walks nicely on a leash. He heels as well asdoes loose leash walking without pulling. He can walk by dogs without going nuts like he used to and is a pleasure to walk with now. He can sit and lie down with no problem and comes when I call him now.
