Course is very nice and well maintained but the staff is the biggest problem. I checked into my tee time 15 minutes early like i should then got the cart filled up and made it to the first tee box right on time but the other 2 some playing with us already teed off and was in the fairway so the starter yelled at us that me and my buddy were late and wouldn't allow us to tee off and forced us to go drop next to the group in the fairway. I have found that if you are not a local who golfs at this course regularly then the staff will treat u very bad which really ruins the experience here read more

The golf course was a great course. On the other hand the pro shop and starter were terrible. My eight year old sister went out golfing with my sister, father, and I. By the time we checked in and got our cart she had my sister in tears. She wrongfully searched through our golf bags for my sisters golf clubs after she said my sister couldn't golf after we paid her cart and greens fee. Man has this course fallen off. Used to be a nice track and has gotten so much worse in the past couple of years. Course maintenance and greens keeping must be a lost art here. Geese ruin this golf course eating every bit of grass in the rough and pooping everywhere on the course. No matter what day I've played here the greens are never rolled or cut. They are so soft from overwatering that every footstep is visible leading to bouncy and inconsistent putts. With that being said, at least they hosted an LPGA event 50 YEARS AGO. I have never seen a Marshall on this golf course and it shows in the slow pace of play every round I've played there. The only reason they get a star is because the layout of the course isn't that bad. However the trees lining each fairway are well overgrown dropping limbs and leaving exposed roots all over the course. Just remember, pine ridge isn't the only option when you're booking your next round, it's worth the travel elsewhere! read more

Some of the rudest staff ive ever had at a golf course, if you ever need something they act like its such an inconvenience for them and god forbid something gets lost they will basically tell you good luck and find it yourself. Almost unplayable last weekend , the amount of geese shit all over the course is wild. I thought maybe it would just be the first hole, but it was literally probably the first 10/12 holes . Absolutely disgusting , should have taken some pictures . read more

This was a girls outing with my besties and we decided to take a golf lesson. We started out at the Under Cover Toptracer Stations. We had the best instructor David Buise. He was patient because out of the 8 of us only 2 play golf and he had his work cut out for him:) I love the way he broke down each step in to simple abc's. He modeled and then watched our strokes making corrections along the way. He taught us with several different clubs with helpful pointers about stance, keeping your left eye on the ball, and following through with your stroke. I have a new respect for golf. David told us to stretch before we came and I now understand why. You're engaging your arms, core, and buttocks. I was feeling muscles I haven't felt for a minute:) The actual golf course is beautiful as far as my eyes could see. We didn't play the actual course,but did go on the greens to practice putting. The club house has a snack area with indoor and patio seating. You can snacks as well as hot food and beverages. Also in the clubhouse is a golf store where you can purchase some golfing essentials. read more

This review is strictly for the driving range. I go here pretty often as it's the closest driving range to me but I have to say it's probably one of the better places to go. The staff has always been amazing and really nice. Spoke with them about their range card and it's definitely worth the savings if you're going to go here quite often. For $10 you'll get 85 balls and there's an option to get even more. I'm not sure how many bays they have but they've installed basically a Top Golf screen and games that you can play in all of their covered bays. Most of the bays are covered but if you're like me, I prefer being in the sun to work on my golfers tan. The space is wide open with distance markers and depending on the time of the day, you might see some deer out there grazing. Please do your best to not aim or hit them. They do have water jugs on site and provide cups but if you need a Gatorade, head inside. They're $3. read more

Played PRGC on Memorial Day 2021 with the usual suspects and confused as to why the low ratings. We had a 6:18 tee time and the course was already packed. Layout here is quirky with many dog legs on par 4/5's and water on most par 3's. The conditions of the course was pristine. From the perfect greens to the well manicured tee boxes, can honestly say this course is def the best out of all the bmore county munis. Great course, great company and throw in a chip-in birdie..I'd say it was a Memorial Day to remember! Can't speak on the driving range, but leaving the course, noticed that they had many many stalls and a decent range layout. read more

Horrible pace of play particularly for offseason. Course does not seem to care. Group of old white guys were on a 5 1/2 hour pace in chilly weather with not a care in the world for anyone else, taking multiple extra practice shots. Groups were quitting. Beware! We got a partial rain check but still it isn't worth it... please complain if this happens to you, if enough say something instead of just leaving they will improve.. read more

They shut down at 8:30 sharp, saying that balls cannot be dispensed, when in fact they can via credit card. NOT MY FAULT THAT YOU GUYS ARE LAZY AND WANT TO GO HOME EARLY. Threatened me with trespassing (for proving a point). Crazy. Message to Tim: Work until the end of your shift, and quit telling people how tired you are from working a full day, when you then proceed home half an hour early. This is a great beginner course. The staff there are welcoming along with their regulars. The range balls are fairly priced and the green fees are average for the area. The clubhouse is a bit dated but all in all great for beginners read more

Definitely enjoyed my round here with a bunch of friends in 40 degree weather. First hole has a really cool approach shot. Green looks like it's built into the sky. With all the cold weather the trees were still without leaves. That meant uninterrupted views of the Loch Raven Reservoir. It's a beautiful piece of property but a friend said the leaves block a decent amount of the views otherwise. They did just lose some trees in the windstorm, so hopefully it's a little better. The collection of par 3s are excellent with a lot of water involved. Tons of doglegs throughout the course. You truly have to play it several times to get your lines off the tee. We played the white tee boxes and it was still challenging. I would definitely be back. Considering the weather today, it was surprisingly busy. So I can imagine this place being pretty packed on a normal weekend. The driving range was solid. Pretty typical muni range with worn out golf balls, decent mats, but a lot of space to hit range balls. There's a chipping green out front and a putting green right near the first tee box. Great layout throughout and the food at their grill was pretty good. read more

Had a 5:57 tee time. We were a twosome. We had no issues. Teed off on time and it took us about 3:45 minutes to play 18 holes. It was a great course. Fairways were in good condition. The greens were absolutely immaculate. The best greens out of all the city courses. The layout is pretty nice because it's a bit open and the par 3 holes that sit on the water are beautiful and challenging. A couple of the par 5 layouts are a bit odd, where you have to hit something 200 yards and then you have about 300 in to the green because of a dogleg. Additionally, the staff itself was very nice and pleasant. The only downside to the play today was the guys in front of us weren't fixing any ball marks on the greens and were making a mess of the sand traps. (This is stereotypical to the types of golfers these were.) I will definitely be returning to play this course again. read more

I thought it was just the driving range attendant having a bad day but everyone I encountered from the starter to the manager was rude and awful to deal with. There is a driving range before the clubhouse which is surrounded by several putting greens. One large bucket is super size. I was quite lucky to play after the course was adjusted for a qualifying round a day before. The golf course was pretty hard especially, the hole position was on slope most of the holes resulting in multiple points added to the scores. Normally, it was not as challenging that you could still enjoy the lake view. There are lots of geese poops near water. Remind me of the roasted five spice geese with rice. This course has been getting bad for a while now. Today was kind of it for me. Watched 2 "fishermen" on #3 picking up balls in the woods. Then they walked out to the first cut of rough and grabbed my ball. I called the front office and they came out and did nothing. My car was hit with a golf ball in May in the parking lot. I saw the guy who hit it and got his information. He refused to pay and I had to pay out of pocket. Course said I need to take it up with him. They still let the guy play out there. In these and a few other cases, the rangers are worthless. I finally spoke with the manager after I played and said not coming back. He said, "That is your choice." I then told him I am canceling the $3,375 worth of golf camp reservations for summer 2018. He then wanted to talk. I said no thanks, time to join a club and have the kids attend golf camp there. This place is now so disappointing. There are a bunch of older guys working there who really are less than professional. I would keep playing if the course were nicer, but with all the storm damage and lost trees it needs work. read more

the course was in excellent condition except some sand traps lacked sufficient sand. the management on the other hand was poor. we had a tee time of 9:30 but found that a woman's group needing 6 tee times showed up but did not have them. as a result everything was slow. we waited on every hole except 7 and 18. at tee box 7 the Marshall told us we were 10 minutes behind and threatened to make us skip a hole. was very rude an belligerent. this despite the fact we waited on every shot for 6 holes. it ruined the day as this idiot kept circling the course like a vulture. go to another course. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced. I don't know if it was because I was a woman or members of my party were of color. But the attendant at the driving range was rude and dismissive. Although I could hear him greet others as 'Buddy' and 'my friend' when they entered the shack. I think the message is clear here. If you are not a white man - find someplace else to play. read more

This is a beautiful public course overlooking the Loch Raven Reservoir. It has beautiful vistas. The course has 18 holes that meanders through the rolling terrain and over part of the reservoir. The course has varied terrain and "doglegs," so playing the course is fun and challenging. The course is well maintained and green. It can be tough to get a tee time during the height of the golf season because greens fees are inexpensive and it is a nice course to play. Try playing in the off-season and at twilight. The driving range is covered and during the colder months it is heated. Nice! The mats are decent and buckets of balls are inexpensive. read more

Course is always in good shape and I like the layout - however the course management is absolutely horrible. They terribly schedule tee times which causes major backups along with the starter just sending people out whenever. Just finished a "round" here where it took 3hrs to complete the front 9.... the groups in front of us were extremely slow with no self awareness and the course marshal was nowhere to be found to keep rate of play. If you enjoy playing golf with a marshal following you on every hole with a stop watch, this is the course for you. Recently went there with 3 guys from work to enjoy a round but from the first tee, the marshal followed us on every hole. One of our players is a newbie so we were playing best ball to keep the pace up but we were followed by two sets of three golfers pushing us on the front 9. We stopped at the turn to grab a hot dog and allowed the 3 some to go around us only to see that yet ANOTHER 3 some was behind them! We gave up after 13 holes and left, vowing to never play there again. I complained to the pro at the golf shop but only got a shrug of his shoulders. I guess the course can afford to tick off 4 somes that pay $200.00 to play there. read more

I enjoyed my time at the driving range. I was here in October and loved the drive up to the range with the beautiful fall-colored trees. I liked the fact that they let you borrow golf clubs for free. I know one of the driving ranges on Oahu charges $48 to rent their golf set. I'll definitely return to Pine Ridge the next time I'm in Maryland. read more

Course was in very nice shape! However it was packed. And I mean PACKED. The foursome ahead of us was very slow. The clubhouse was aware of this and made them skip a hole. Which was ok with us, however we caught up to them again. It ended up being almost a six hour round. Which made it hard to shoot with so much down time I wasn't a fan of the layout. Lost of dog legs. But that's just preference. Would go back. Preferably during a "down" time. read more

Wow. They have horrible scheduling and make up for it by having marshals follow you during your whole game. They scheduled two two gamers behind us (a four) and hassled us ever 3 holes. I am a frequent patron of Pine Ridge. I love the layout, the conditions, the scenery. I was recently involved in a situation that was not handled correctly. I purchased some drinks at the turn house and put it on my credit card. I signed the receipt and gave a cash tip. A few days later my credit statement showed a purchase that was over double the amount charged. I can only surmise that the turnhouse attendant wrote in her own tip for their 'college fund.' I received no help from the managers when I called to bring this to their attention saying that there was nothing they can do. I learned my lesson about how to sign the receipt but feel taken advantage of. Sad. read more

I really think this golf course is beautiful but the people that work there are buttholes except the women that works In the concession stand at the 9 th hole. I don't understand why older people have to act like no one is allowed to play but them and then treat people like crap. They are rude and follow you around the golf course to tell you rules that you have not even broken. Scheduling is a nightmare. We played 5 hours and only got to the 12 th hole because play was so backed up. I took my 6 year old son with me just so he could hang out with dad and hit balls when we were backed up and to teach him the rules. They treated us like we were the reason it was backed up and was rude to us. I have played golf my hole life I know the rules and how to be respectful on the course. I don't need some old man following me around watching my every move. If you want an older Age limit then make one. But don't treat people who look younger than 50 like they don't belong. This course is a great layout. The problem is with the way they maintain it. Bare spots are everywhere. They charge $49.00 dollars to play and it is certainly not worth this price. The sand is terrible. Having been around courses all my life I won't play here again because of the condition. You can go right up the road and play for $28.00 and the courses are better maintained. Pine Ridge is a gorgeous 18 hole public golf course in Baltimore County. It is inexpensive to play and the quality of the course for the price you pay is the best in the Baltimore area. There are a couple of holes on the reservior and those are very gorgeous. The holes are interesting with many long doglegs on the course. This course is difficult so beginners might want to move to a closer tee or hit their driving range. The only problem I have wirh this place is pace of play. Since this is an inexpensive public course expect to wait behind plenty of slow hackers. There is a 'rule' requiring a pace of 4.5 hour/round. The marshalls never enforce this amd pace of play suffers greatly. Expect your round to take at least 5 hours or more depending on your luck and when you teed off. Also they don't allow pullcarts which is a minor inconvenience for those of us who like them. If you have the patience and time then try this course. It is always ranked near the top of Baltimore's public course list for a reason. read more

This place is located in a very serene environment suitable for calm and productive get away. I love how they over a variety of amenities to the members and at a discounted fee. Definitely one of the vest gild courses in town. I'd definitely recommend everyone to try out this place. read more
