That was in 2022 and I've had 3 years of amazing service, the highest levels of professionalism, and a whole clinic that loves and cares for my pup almost as much as I do! My pup has had repeated infections (ear, skin, etc.) and Dr. Bill has been persistent and thorough. Many times he'll ask the front desk to waive the fee for follow up visits or he'll advise them what medication to supply without requiring a visit. I also pet sit in the area and have taken a number of other pets to Bayfield, sometimes to treat very serious conditions that the staff have addressed with the same impressive expertise and care. I feel incredibly lucky to be an established patient at Bayfield. I have high expectations when it comes to customer service and Bayfield is top notch!

I'd been trying to make "the" decision for many weeks. Finally, I texted our vet, fully knowing it was my decision to make. I gave some worrisome symptoms in the text and he immediately texted back that we may be facing a serious crisis, which could be really hard on my beloved Taylor and me and my husband. Long story short, Dr. Thompson came to our home and in the most gentle of settings, Taylor left us. She was heavily sedated and yet was able to wag her tail moments before the final medications were given and she left us peacefully. This gentle vet left his office and came to our home within two hours of my text and returned to his patients soon after. We will be grateful for his intuitiveness, his knowing I could not quite make the necessary choice without his help. This man is so much more than a professional vet, he is a wonderful human being.

When private equity takes over expect prices to rise and quality of care to go down. So, first sign I have noticed....when you call they do everything they can to avoid having to answer the phone. You are encouraged to call back if no one answers or to use the app. This is common practice for these PE firms---cut down on front office staff to increase revenue. So don't expect the phone to be answered. Go use the app and save us money on salaries. The other tactics already in play are to raise the prices on exams, try to force the customer to use Riverview's pharmacy, make it difficult to get refills without requiring an often unneeded exam, and so forth. It's time to start looking for another clinic that is not owned by private equity. My love for my dog should not be an opportunity for a profit driven PE firm to cash in on me. It's disgusting.

Her office has a small town feel, she knows my pups by name, and has wonderful flexibility to ensure they have the best care. For example, my dogs have a history of adverse vaccine reactions. She ensured that they were seen in the morning (a time when she typically performs surgery) so if they had a reaction I could call her office instead of paying emergency vet fees. But this amazing veterinary team did far more than we thought possible. They saved our girl, and they saved 6 of her 9 puppies. Seven lives saved in one day. It is difficult to put into words how grateful we are. Those six little babies are here because this team was willing to fight for them while also taking incredible care of their mother. When you bring an animal you love into a veterinary clinic during an emergency, you are placing a member of your family in someone else's hands. Valley Veterinary Clinic showed us exactly what skill, compassion, dedication, and genuine care look like when it matters most. I called them back 4.5 hours later, they stated they had to take care of their clients first(I totally understand this) and that they probably would not be able to see us. My problem is, if I had been told this from the beginning, we could have made other arrangements. By this point it was to late to do anything but depend on Dr. Google(not a good option). Fortunately after a visit to a local pet store, the meds suggested by Google search luckily did the trick.
