Pine Street staff were so friendly and accommodating. They found a way to fit us in, on short notice, with an emergency, even though we'd never been there before. They explained everything to us and provided options. In addition, their procedures in place due to Covid made us feel that we were not putting ourselves at risk during our visit. We are so thankful for their help and now our mini-schnauzer is feeling much better! read more

WORST ANIMAL CLINIC I'VE EVER USED. Our dog needed shots, and care for a quarter-sized raw spot on his tail that he chewed after an allergic reaction. An hour and 40 minutes later, we were sent home with only a small bottle of spray and a bill for $188 (and that's with a "discount" HAHA). The next day, we called to inform them that our dog continued to chew the spot, and they offered to prepare a cone and some antibiotics so we could pick it up. They then accused me of declining a cone on the first visit and stuck me with a $55 bill. On the first visit, they brought the spray and bill to me at the conclusion of the appointment, and I had to ask if I needed a cone. Me: "I'm assuming that if he keeps chewing his tail I should buy a cone?" They responded with a yes, so I was led to believe he didn't need one. They never even mentioned the need for antibiotics. That was probably a nice afterthought add-on for some more price gouging since I wasn't happy with the visit. The vet sounded like a woman who smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years and her "knowledge" of animals seemed more like bad guesses that a 7 year old could outdo by a simple Google search. I've been all over the US during my 17 years of military service and I've gotten to understand the veterinary business very well, and I can confidently say that this place is ran by miserable, incompetent, shady people. read more

I took my dog here twice because it was the closet vet. Didn't wanna go back because it always takes about 30 minutes waiting after you tell them you arrived for the app. People always arrive after I have called and waited 30 minutes and they get there pet taken in right away. I would rate this place 0 stars. Been turned away because they didn't notify me that they were busy that day and they had to reschedule. Waited almost an hour to be told that that app had to be rescheduled. They honestly need better people working there. read more

Had to take my little Chi to their ER-the only Vet that could see us on a Friday late afternoon--and they were GREAT!!! Loved Dr. Ragsdale and the staff. Fixed our little boy right up! And very reasonable for an ER visit read more

3.75 stars The staff are very friendly and helpful for the most part. However once a tech took it upon herself to tell me how I should be caring for my cats and was a bit rude about it. Thanks but I'll listen to the person with the degree. The other strike is that the wait times are hideous. Each time I come it takes longer and longer to be seen. My last negative point is when I brought my then 12 week old pup for his first visit. I had been there a good 10 minutes or so when a staff member came to me and said I need to move because a dog had come in with parvo and was sitting in that spot! Thankfully my pup didn't contract anything but I was very angry. They should've been much more careful about something so serious. All that being said, they do seem to take very good care of the animals and we get a nice first responder discount. They were also able to see our dog last minute once when he got injured. read more

This vet is way too expensive. We got our german shepherd neutered at a different clinic, and he is a BIG dog. The neutering was under $100. We wanted to find another vet, so we took him to pine street. They did every test in the book, and determined he had small worms. The office visit with all the tests was over $300. On top of that, they wanted him to come in every 6 months for the same testing and office visit! The neutering at another vet (including consultations) didn't even cost half that price! I would understand the price if this clinic had a wealth of knowledge and was very professional, but this was not the case. I asked the vet tech about issues we had been having with our german shepherd, and she said "I don't know. I'm not really a dog person." I asked to speak to another person, and they said there was no one else. Yesterday, I called and tried to get my shepherd some flea medication. I asked if I could come and pick up the flea pill, and the receptionist said "Yea, that would be great." I live outside of Cabot, and I was about to make a special trip. I decided to call to double-check everything was ready because I didn't want to make a special trip for nothing. I called and was put on hold for several minutes. Then, another receptionist informed me that the flea pills have to be ordered, and you cannot pick them up. Now, I either have to order online and wait a week for them to come in or find a new vet and start the process over again. I will not take any of my animals to pine street again because of: high cost, lack of knowledge, and lack of organization. read more

These folks are awesome - the receptionist was super nice and helpful - took my cat back to the exam room and to the car for me - A+ for her! Dr. Rowand is the exceptional "cat" doc - took all the time in the world to talk with me - very tender with my "lil girl" - vet tech also exceptional, very kind - will definitely return to this clinic as needed. read more

Came in for two shots (rabies and bordatella) and it cost almost $90. Lost my business instantly. I will get the shots elsewhere that won't charge almost a $100 for two disposable needles. read more

I took my precious Speckles into Pine Street Animal Clinic because I observed a spot on her back. I left Pine Street Animal Clinic carrying her in a box. The people there escorted me to a private examination room where a very young employee came in and asked about the problem. I showed him the area where the spot was located and told him more about the cat. She had been abandoned as a kitten by her mother 9 1/2 years prior. She was born very small, probably the runt of the litter and she had what felt like scabs under her skin which were noticeable only by feel. I was later told that this was probably the result of an allergy to flea bites. She was missing a few teeth which allowed for an occasional drool. She had an hyper-fear of humans and found shelter under a building on my property coming out when no one was around to sun on the bottom of a face-down boat. She got her food from my porch at night where I left food out for my 4 feral tom cats. They were all born around July of 2007. Speckles was born sometime in 2009. (Not 2007 as indicated). Two of the toms I adopted from Feline Rescue and the other two were born under my house in a litter of 5. Two of that litter never left and stuck with me for the food and shelter I provided. But as for Speckles, it took about 2 years before I could even get close to her because of her fear. I knew that in extreme weather she was going under my house, so I made sure to leave the opening unblocked during the winter. At some point, I trapped her and took her to the free clinic in Sherwood to have her spayed. My tom cats having already been neutered. In 2014 Speckles was diagnosed as having feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). With proper care she would live for many years. The employee at Pine Street carried Speckles into another large room where there were several people. After a long while, that person and another came back into the exam room and told me that Speckles needed $550.39 worth of treatment. I told them "No way!" Besides, I couldn't afford that. They left the room and came back with a new "Treatment Plan" that was now $209.25. This "plan" called for the killing of my friend and constant companion. She had always counted on me and I had never let her down. She trusted me with her very life. So they left the room and came back with a new "plan." This plan was now $178.00. I gave them a flat "NO." But they insisted that my cat was in severe pain and needed to be put out of her misery. I still said "No." Then they left the room and came back and told me that they would not charge me to kill my cat. They used a politically correct term, euthanasia, for doing the exact same thing. The new statement was in the amount of $178.01. There were fewer items on this new statement and the cost of the euthanasia was included but now relabeled "Exam - Office Call," a charge that had been labeled $0.00 on the previous statement. To continue the insult your office added back in the $31.25 oxygen discount from the original statement. This was a questionable charge anyway. They told me that Speckles was dying so that begs the question "Why the oxygen?" I cried at the suggestion that I would never carry my baby in my arms again. She loved that. Unusual for a feral cat to actually like to be picked up and carried. Sometimes, when she signaled me it was not to go outside but instead it was to pick her up and hold her in my arms. She moved inside every winter where she spent most of her time sleeping. She was not a picky eater like the other cats. But even though she was potty trained from the start she would ask to go outside and I would patiently wait to let her back in. She never once soiled my floor. In the few weeks preceding my visit to this vet's office, she had taken to the habit of sitting in my lap. She would cling to me when I finally had to get up. As I look back I am certain that she had an idea of what was ahead. I question whether or not she actually suffered the pain that I was told she did. FIV is not painful. The diseases you can get as a result of FIV are sometimes painful but I have no indication that she was suffering. And if she was suffering, was it bad enough to rate the death sentence? I'm certain that Pine Street Animal Clinic didn't mean to overcharge or mislead me but I am certain that they should have done what they said you were going to do and that was not to charge me for the euthanasia. I'm also sure that adding the discount back into the final statement was an accident. If you love your pet avoid this place like the plague. They appear to be in it for the money and nothing else. read more

Showed up 15 minutes early for the appointment like they suggested. They didn't come to pick up paperwork until 20 minutes after appointment time and 25 minutes after I'd called. Didn't come get my dog until 20 minutes after that, which I had to call them and ask why they hadn't already done that. 15 minutes after taking my dog, I was told she had gotten her shots and just needed to be checked by the vet. 20 minutes later I called to say I just wanted my dog back, don't care about the vet checking her. 10 minutes later still hadn't heard anything so I called again to say the same. 10 minutes later I saw a few people out back take a smoking break, already impatient, after seeing that I went inside. Asked again for my dog, was told to leave and that they were working on it. Complaining about the various wait times, I was informed that they had emergencies to take care of. I complained about the group of 5 people talking in the back and why one of them couldn't bring me my dog. Was told I needed to pay, why that was never mentioned in the two calls I made and why no one had came to take payment from me was not answered. Full disclosure, I was asked to not come back. Being as how I was not intending to return, I'm not bothered. Just letting other people know what to expect. read more
