They don't have their main cottage open for hot chocolate this year but it's super adorable. The workers are very helpful. They were all wearing masks! Yay! It's great to see businesses taking this seriously especially in southern Wisconsin... They have a lot of trees but I wouldn't say this is the biggest tree farm I've been too. However, they do have some great trees over 10ft which can be hard to find. I wanted a 12 foot or bigger tree and we found at least 3 that would have been perfect. Here's the really amazing thing: they send a tractor with a forklift out to help you carry it in. That was amazing. I've had to lug huge trees a long way before and this was awesome. They helped me get the tree secure on the car and it's beautiful. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!

After a whole lifetime in Chicago, I failed to get tenure there and had to start over in Milwaukee. We didn't really know anyone in town, and although I've traveled all over the world, only Chicago has ever really been home. Maria comes from a big Catholic family in small town Western Michigan, and Christmas is a special time for her. Well thanks to the then strong public teacher union presence, my new job paid a living wage, for the first time we were able to afford a house. That house really became a home after we discovered Grandpa Vern's seasonal operation and got our first Christmas tree. Since then, we've found them every year, every December we get a wonderful fresh tree they've grown and brought down from their farm in Northern Wisconsin personally. Our 7 year tradition isn't yet impressive to them, they've been at this for two full generations. Their prices are so much better than what you would get in Chicago, the quality is much better, and they will secure the tree to the roof of your car competently and quickly. They take cash or cheques, no credit cards, the CVS next door has an ATM.

Our stop there was encouraging as we were greeted and given a Saw and map of the property so that we could go cut our own Christmas tree. We first visited their shed where they had pre-cut trees that looked very nice. We headed out into the field and much to our surprise not one of the trees were Christmas trees. Instead it was a forest of trees that had never been pruned, trimmed or made into Christmas trees, they were just wild. Not one tree was under 20 to 30 feet tall. They were also close to just as wide. Then went back to the shed and found out that none of the Christmas trees in the shed were from that farm they were shipped in from up north and pretty expensive! My opinion, drive-by don't stop unless you're looking for a precut expensive tree that's not from the area.

You can enjoy free hot chocolate and apple cider while exploring the store. They even have cool hot chocolate bombs (pumpkin spice and cookies-and-cream flavors were available when we visited). We happened to go on a special event day with photos with Santa, and they had a professional photographer taking pictures for FREE. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable for both the trees and the gift shop. We highly recommend this farm and look forward to visiting again next year!

The fresh cut tree that stands tall and proud in the living room comes from this tree farm. We had…read moregotten so many compliments and people asking where we got the tree from it become an inside joke... "I can tell ya, but then I'd have to.... "! One thing we did to keep the tree fresh was use boiling sugar water when needed for the duration of the holidays (day after thanksgiving until the day after new years). 2023 season we paid $82 for the 10' tall tree and that included shaking the squirrels out and socking it for easy transport. We will be back!
