Went with a large group. There were a lot of people there for First Friday. We had to wait a while to get our food, but it was crowded so I understand. I ordered the sampler plate (I'm forgetting the name). It came with wings, sweet plantains, rice and your choice of a patty. Not like a Jamaican patty, but I got curry shrimp that had potatoes and veggies in it. I didn't really like that but my friends were happy to eat it. The wings were good... I wound up having to get the sauce on the side and it probably would have been better tossed hot. Plantains were tasty. The rice was meh. This restaurant was recently featured amongst 6 featured on The Food Networks' Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2025. It's a rather small counter service restaurant, but I think it houses just what they require to produce a quality meal. My dining companion and I split the Chicken Pineapple Bowl - A pineapple sliced in half and hollowed out, filled with cilantro, lime rice as the base, teriyaki chicken, teriyaki sauce, and topped with their signature salsa. It was definitely enough for splitting with another person and we left completely satisfied. The flavors blend well together. Yum! We also split a lemonade which was tasty and refreshing! Pineappétit also offers pasta, wings and Caribbean patties. We plan on returning to try some of the other menu items. The restaurant offers a Sunday brunch menu, but the pineapple bowl is not on it. There is also a soul food Sunday menu, but again the pineapple bowl is not on it. We previously stopped by on a random Saturday for the pineapple bowl, but they were only offering the soul food Saturday menu. If your heart is set on trying the pineapple bowl as was featured on DDD, make sure to visit on a weekday! Since the counter service restaurant is located in a food hall, the dining tables and seating are shared with the other shops. We had no trouble finding parking or a table when we visited. ZERO Star Complete catering catastrophe. Pineappletite catered our community event today, and it was nothing short of a total embarrassment. They showed up three hours late, without a single apology or even basic courtesy. The two staff members who eventually arrived looked absolutely miserable--like we were inconveniencing them. No greeting, no explanation--just attitude. And the food? They walked it in using a black Home Depot storage bin with a red lid. Yes, really--a bin you'd normally use to store Halloween decorations in your garage. No professional catering equipment in sight. That should've been our first and final red flag. What little food they brought included bland rice, mushy beans, and potato salad that tasted like paste. There wasn't a trace of seasoning anywhere. Worse yet, they ran out of all the main courses after feeding fewer than 20 residents. For a community event. That they agreed to cater. Totally unacceptable. They also thought it was a good idea to slice and stuff pineapples on-site, which only added to the chaos and made everything slower and more disorganized. It wasn't impressive--it was amateur hour. And just to top it off, as they packed up early because the food was gone and pizzas had to be ordered, both employees laughed and giggled walking back to their car like they were proud of the disaster they left behind. Pineappletite is a joke. They are unprofessional, underprepared, and should not be anywhere near a catering gig. Save your time, your money, and your dignity. Hire literally anyone else. read more

I decided to stop by this place while I was running some errands in the area. I remember when the owner was still selling plates one FAMU's campus. It was good to stop by now that he has a full service restaurant. I had a pineapple bowl and chicken wings on this visit. The pineapple bowl was amazing. I was privileged to try the infamous pineapple bowl with chicken, rice, and a sweet and spicy sauce back when Pineappetit was just a food truck. Once I saw they had a freestanding restaurant, I decided to try their chicken wings and sweet plantains. The wings were wet and crispy like I like them. The sweet and spicy sauce was more sweet than spicy, and more red Thai curry flavored (which I love). The sweet plantains weren't moist like you would get at a Cuban restaurant, but were tasty and dusted lightly with cinnamon sugar it seemed. So this weekend, we are back in Tally and figured we would try again. After patiently placing an order for four people - 2 pineapple bowls and 2 pastas. We were told the wait would be 20-25 minutes. So we waited. After 25 minutes, I went back inside to ask how much longer, and the young lady at the register asked what my order was, that she didn't see the ticket in the back to be prepared. Well, she was informed by SPENCER, that he would not be making the pasta, with no explanation given. So why is it on the menu? So what she was telling me is that SPENCER was only going to make 2/4 orders, when all 4 orders were paid for, over $60.00 in full. As a family of 4, why would I only want two meals. I will not be returning to this establishment. I have heard good things about the food, I can neither confirm, nor deny, as I wasn't given the opportunity to try the food. Simply, on lack of customer service, and disrespect, I will not spend my hard earned money in an establishment that doesn't value my patronage. Do better! read more

I truly had a five star experience during my first visit here on a Friday evening. There weren't many people inside. We walked right up to the counter and placed our order after the host offered recommendations when I told her it was our first time trying the establishment. She said the wait would be about 15 minutes and I think she was pretty spot on. Time passed quickly admiring the cute decor and playing Pac-Man with my toddler on the arcade game inside. Super cute touch IMO. I had the honey chicken pineapple bowl with pineapple salsa and it was so good! Hot, and fresh ingredients. My husband ordered the chicken Rasta pasta with a side of broccoli. Pineappetit opened a couple weeks ago and I'm so glad that Tallahassee has another gem. I've been dining with them since they had a food truck and were serving pineapples to when they were serving soul food on Sundays. The brick and mortar offers fun and tasty cuisine. I attend the grand opening and ordered the wings, Rasta Pasta and two homemade patties. One Patty was beef and the other was curry chicken. They were both good especially topped with the Carolina gold and made from scratch pineapple sauce (could be a different name) the crusts were crispy and the filling was full of goodness. I had a set of wings and the flavor was Honey Lemon Pepper. GET IT, that's what's I'll say about that. So good! If you aren't familiar with Rasta Pasta, is a Pasta made with peppers and Jerk Shrimp, Chicken and or your protein of choice. The flavors and consistency were definitely good. I had never heard of this place so I just searched good places and o seen they had good reviews so I decided to see it for myself. They are right next to a really popular pizza place that gets a lot of traffic so I was interested to see what the food looked like here. There's a lot to like here but some basics could use some attention. Took my daughter to lunch this afternoon at the new location. Right next door to Brooklyn Pizza on Pensacola St, so this will be a prime spot for students and folks coming to town for football games, etc. They offer counter service and have done a really nice job with the decor and furnishings. We split an order of 20 wings and a side of the sweet plantains. The wings were fantastic and were 5 star in my opinion. We chose half jerk seasoning and half lemon pepper. Both were great. The jerk had just the right amount of heat and the lemon pepper were simply outstanding. They contrasted the jerk wings perfectly. The plantains were good but didn't stand out. My main issue was the lack of drink choices. They offer Calypso juices or water. Let me be up front on this. I work for the local distributor that sells Calypso and I'm thrilled that they offer it and carry a nice selection of flavors. That being said, it is extremely sweet/loaded with sugar. If that's your thing, then great but it's not for everyone, myself included. I would have gotten water instead but it was room temperature and no ice was offered...this is no bueno. Maybe there's a good excuse why the water wasn't cold but they had all of the bottles of Calypso in a branded refrigerator at the counter so I can't understand why water wasn't cold too. No soda fountain or bottled sodas offered. My other issue was how the food was served. We were dining in but they brought the food out in to go styrofoam containers in a plastic bag. Why build such a nicely furnished restaurant and not serve food properly for customers that are dining in? Again, maybe they thought we were getting it to go but they never asked and I can't recall noticing if the other patrons dining in had regular plates and cutlery offered. I look forward to returning to try the pineapple bowls, pasta and the other menu items offered but hope they improve the dine in experience and expand the beverage options. read more
