This place truly feels like a second home. Charming & classy & boutique like. We've had the privilege of staying here about twice a year for the past 4 years. The staff makes it so incredibly special. While some of the past staff have since left and we miss them so much, the new hires have been so wonderful. Kudos to the hiring team! Valets Austin and Braxton are so kind and polite and helpful! Emely and Vanessa at the front desk were also fantastic! Housekeeping staff were also amazing - the rooms are pristine and clean. They quickly brought up a microwave (by request) and any additional items we needed. And it was great meeting the new manager Jack who is great!! (Prior managers Leiahana & Kyle were also great! - a legacy of greatness :) To give an example of how wonderful staff members are - I was waiting for an elevator and was carrying a few drinks (from their awesome new seltzer dispenser) and TWICE a Beaver Creek staff member offered to get the elevator for me - that would be ***Heather*** and ***David*** - they were so enthusiastic and friendly about it! The location is so convenient - with free shuttles or the option to ski out and it's only a 10 minute walk from the base of the mountain. Close enough for convenience, but far enough to be away from the crowds. The views are so lovely. While we didn't dine at the Grouse Mountain Inn this time, just wanted to share the views from there during the day are stunning. Love the workout room, steam room, heated pool, and hot tub. So family friendly! There's even a washer/dryer on the 3rd floor!!! We do miss the buffet breakfast that was included a year or so ago. And would be helpful to have a small conference room for guest use in case work needed to be done or a private call taken. Loved the Lather products and the cute little "do not disturb" pine cone to hang on your door. Onsite restaurant, valet parking and string WiFi made this stay that much more convenient. What a fine stay here in a roomy king deluxe. Loved the room, the view, the balcony!, and the finishing design touches, especially the slate, the tile and attention to detail in the bathroom. Felt like home, what with Lather bath products on hand too! Other nice touches; - cutest "do not disturb" pine cone - humidifier available in room - refrigerator but no coffee maker The facility has the amenities you'd expect: fine dining, outdoor heated pool and spa, fitness center. They run a shuttle to take you around the village or to their sister property, the Osprey. The only distraction there back in the room - upon turning off my tv (Cubs lost :-/ for the evening, I could hear the tv from the room next door. That acoustic phenomenon where it sounds distant but is perfectly intelligible In clarity. Same thing with the guest next door coughing in the morning. I had a wonderful stay at this charming lodge! The level of attention to details were apparent in the every element of this warm and inviting resort! Don't let the rustic lobby fool you, this is a luxurious hotel for a relaxing stay! ROOM: I had a standard king room with the view of the mountain. The room is very well appointed with ample of space to move around. There is even a dining table by the windows for a nice meal! The bathroom is tastefully designed as well with granite counters, deep soaker tub that invites you to take a long hot bath. I loved the fragrant soaps! Best of all, you get comfy robes! There is a humidifier in the closet to help with the dry winter weather. In addition, there are complimentary glass bottles of water in the room to ensure you stay hydrated! Again, I was very impressed with all the amenities in the room! GYM/POOL: there is a pretty standard gym with cardio machines and weights. It had all the things I needed for a quick circuit training workout. There is a locker room with shower and restroom. A hot tub is just outside of the gym which I didn't get to use during my stay. SERVICE: A+ all the way! They had granola bars and breakfast muffins in the morning not to mention a beverage bar on each floor! All the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable! The doorman even addressed me by my name--talk about personal service! Overall, the Pines Lodge was an excellent option for a relaxing weekend! Great location, large rooms and friendly staff. There is an on-site ski rental shop, a boot warming room and the Beaver Creek shuttle comes by every 15 minutes. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I felt the restaurant was lacking a bit. The main male bartender was rude, making you feel like ordering cocktails or questions were a pain, so we went out of our way not to do any cocktails on site. The food was generally pretty good but not the best. Overall, great value for location and room!! read more

Long weekend getaway with my girlfriend. Scored an excellent Cyber Monday deal for this lodge. They upgraded our room to a king with the village and mountain view, which was excellent to wake up to each morning. The valet service was exceptional. All the staff were friendly, however, when I purchased lift tickets they claimed that the tickets would be at the front desk upon arrival. The staff claimed they had never heard of such a service. The front desk was very helpful in trying to accommodate us by assuring us that someone would go grab them the next morning. When I tried to have them retrieved then next morning, the front desk said they were short staffed and were unable to at the time. Not exactly want you want to hear when staying at high class resort. The pool area is very well situated with great views of the mountain. The hot tub was extremely hot, which is great for some, but had me out in 5 minutes. As for housekeeping, they will knock on your door at the most inopportune time each evening unless you display your Do Not Disturb tag. At the same time, they will leave your room spotless and organized for your return. Overall, PLEASED with this stay, especially for the price I received. read more

I really enjoyed my recent stay at the Pines Lodge. When I first booked I was a little concerned that the hotel wasn't located in the actual village but when I arrived I realized that it is the shortest walk ever and a very pretty one at that. I loved my room so much that I really didn't want to leave. I had a king deluxe with a gorgeous view and the balcony and windows that I could swing wide open to the gorgeous 70F air were a huge treat. I found my room to be quite large, especially in comparison to some other BC properties. The bed was amazingly comfortable and there was a great table with chairs as well as a comfy armchair and ottoman. The bathroom was great - separate room for the toilet and lots of nice natural stone and granite. Everything felt very luxurious. In-room coffee and tea as well as their distinctive filtered glass water bottles were delightful. I used the exercise room a couple of times and it was quite adequate - the steam room in the adjoining bathroom was very nice. The pool and hot tub area is small but nicely tucked in amongst the trees and feels quite intimate and fun. I loved this hotel! Can't wait to go back! read more

Over the past weekend the Hubs and I traveled to Beaver Creek for a wedding. The Hubs was a part of the wedding party so we had the option of one of two hotels. The pines lodge still had room so we booked our room and looked forward to a short getaway to my Husbands home state. We arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted immediately at the valet drop off/pick up. The valet attendants were friendly and attentive. We unloaded our bags and made our way to the reception desk. The receptionist was plenty friendly, and made small talk pleasant, even after being trapped in a car longer than necessary. We took the elevator up to our room, and began to unpack rapidly. We left the room in a bit of a hurry, due to needing to attend wedding activities. Ignoring the fact that we specified a king size bed and instead received two queen sized beds. My husband and I are very tall so the need for a king bed was very important. We came back to our room on the later side of the evening exhausted and wanting to crawl into bed. Upon climbing into one of the queen beds, I noticed a cluster of gnats on the ceiling. I was shocked by the sight, and curious as to why there would be gnats in a room that held no fruits or veggies. Anyhow I was too tired from travel and the altitude gain that I figured I would handle the problem the following day, if said problem was in fact still a problem. The following morning, the gnats seemed to have vacated our room. We went to grab coffee, of which they had a lot of options located on each floor near the elevators. We went back to our room to finish getting ready for the wedding we were to attend that afternoon and evening. A member of the cleaning staff entered our room without so much as a knock, at which point we refused service and sent her away. Later we found out with the help of our friends who had the room next door, the pine cone on the door was supposed to stand for do not disturb. Anyhow, after returning from the wedding reception at a modest 10pm on a Saturday we were congregating in the hall and were told rudely by the staff and another guest that we were being very loud. I have to disagree though, we had barely put the keys into the doors leading to our rooms before we were yelled at. Upon entering our room on night two, I noticed that the family of gnats had in fact made a return visit to our room. I took a photo with the intention of notifying the staff, which I forgot due to needing to hurry out the next morning to make a flight back home. I am deducting two stars for the rudeness of other snobby patrons and the lack of cleanliness of the guest rooms. I think if we ever make a return visit to Beaver Creek we will most definitely stay at one of the many other hotels, lodges, etc. read more

If you are traveling during the off-season don't stay here. Go ahead and book the higher end hotel. I'm sure this is a great place during the peak summer and winter months, but go ahead and spend an extra $100 during off season to stay at the Ritz or Hyatt. There is a lot of wear and tear throughout the rooms and the pool area needs major upgrades. Contrary to other reviews, I feel the staff was lacking in common courtesy. And, the restaurant management needs to be trained in common courtesy. The pool was dirty and had deposits of sand on the bottom. The water feature in the hi tub was poorly constructed with areas where the concrete is cracking. This shows poor maintenance. It appears that there are no lockers for ski grear or ski valet options. There was considerable wear along the floor boards indicating ski gear present in the rooms. 3 star hotel trying to be 4+ star. read more

My friends (Brandon and Jefe--see other Reviews) just got back from an overnight trip to the Pines Lodge at Beaver Creek. We had a GREAT time and I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking the "alternative" experience to skiing. We have skied The Beave (see Review) a few times before and decided to hit it again for the Talons Challenge; skiing 13 Diamond and Double Diamond runs. Jefe was able to secure a screaming deal at the Pines, so we planned for the overnight. Typically parking at Beaver Creek is $30 a day, so to just not have to pay for parking was great in and of itself. Since we got there early in the morning, we were unable to check-in. We changed in the roundabout in front of the hotel (not uncommon to our crew) and walked about a 100 yards to strap in and ski down to Strawberry Lift. We pwned (sic) the Talons and made our way back to the hotel after examining the bottom of a pitcher at the Coyote Cafe. The room was a double with super-plush, awesome beds! Great bathroom setup. The hotel staff was fantastic! Every little need we had, they were very attentive to. And while we didn't have the BMW Lori mentioned at our disposal, there was a sweet Volvo XC. Made me ALMOST not want to drive my 4Runner into town. The alarm clock...well, you need to stay there to experience it...Interesting. The Pines Lodge is a AAA-rated 4 Diamond Resort and they earn every facet of it. Find a reason to go there for a long time, you will LOVE it! read more

I got a great deal at Pines Lodge. The place really does have a lodge feel to it including rooms with large wood framed bed, a large fireplace and a separate dining tables for in-room dining. The view from the rooms are spectacular and I believe every room has a balcony ( mine did and totally worth it). The only two things I felt were missing: a decent sized swimming pool (the one they have is very small), a jacuzzi and free internet in the room. The internet was a bummer. This was some three years ago that I was there so maybe it's different now. Grousse Mountain Grill, the main restaurant in this hotel is one of the most reknowned in Beaver Creek. My wife did get a massage but apparently the hotel gets this done ff the premises. All in all, the stay was memorable, the room was large and comfy and the hotel was worth it. read more

In the style of an alpine chalet, this large Beaver Creek resort is a great value and a very nice addition a few steps away from the village area. Pine molding around the doors, cabinetry in the rooms and around the beds painted with German style alpine flowers give this place a rustic feel. It is, however, far from rustic in the amenities available in the rooms. The bathrooms are very large with gigantic double showers but no tubs. I loved the rock shaped soaps with pumice in the bathroom. The beds and linens are first rate as well. If you go, ask for a room facing the slopes for the best views. They do not charge tor overnight valet car service, and this also makes for a great deal. Rooms contain large, flat panel televisions and dual ski boot warmer/dryers. The free wifi kept kicking me off, however. The Grouse Mountain Grille serves meals all day. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast on the open air patio surrounded by blooming flowers and buzzing hummingbirds this July. The also have complimentary Starbucks coffees and teas on the second and fourth floor of the hotel for guests in the mornings. The staff is respectful and professional. They all seemed like the belonged to the same fraternity. You can get good deals online for the rooms, and the main lift area and Beaver Creek village is about a 5 minute walk. Cozy, rustic themed hotel well situated in Beaver Creek. You can ski out to the nearest lift but it's kind of an uphill/flat hike to ski back. Nevertheless, an easy 5 min walk to the village. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with nice bathrooms. The theme is rustic but the hotel is well cared for and in well-maintained, modern condition. A nice touch is the reusable glass bottles filled with complimentary filtered water. Since this is a "Rock Resort", there are rock shaped soaps in the bathroom. Very friendly staff, quick to respond to your needs. The buffet breakfast is a little oddly located in that it is in a a separate enclosed room and you bring your food across the hall, back to the dining room. But for $20, the food quality and variety are good. The staff constantly refreshes and refills the buffet as well. Did not use the pool but unless I missed it, it was only one very small (and closed) outdoor pool area. The hotel also has a Cadillac SUV that will take you anywhere in the village. This is a nice quiet hotel in a great location. read more

Very accommodating place. The room was very comfortable with nice wood paneling, plenty of storage space, and a very comfortable bed. When the altitude started to get to me, someone brought a humidifier and set it up in the room. When I asked for my car to be pulled out on a snowy night, the valet took the time to advise me of road conditions and best routes. It's a "ski-in-ski-out" hotel, but easier to take the shuttle to the village and ride the lifts up from there, especially for beginners since you have to ski a blue trail to reach the hotel on skis. Take a look at the map and decide what you want to ski and whether it's easier to take the free shuttle that runs every 15 minutes, or ski out. The one disappointment (and it was a rather big one, hence the 4 stars) was the one time we decided to eat breakfast in the hotel. It's a fairly basic buffet (the standard scrambled eggs, french toast, coffee, cereal - basic hotel junk food you might expect at a Holiday Inn), which would have been fine but for the fact that it cost $50 for two people after the hotel added gratuity, and wasn't as good as a $10 breakfast at Waffle House. There was no table service to speak of other than the taking of our buffet order and delivery of our check. I called the front desk later and didn't complain, but asked for a breakfast recommendation. The hotel staff didn't even suggest eating breakfast in the hotel, but directed me to 8100 in the Park Hyatt (apparently they know that the breakfast in the hotel can't be recommended). 8100 was much better breakfast recommendation. Suggestion to management - make a breakfast that your hotel staff isn't embarrassed to recommend to guests. read more

My boyfriend and I spent last weekend at Pines Lodge. The service was wonderful from the minute we arrived. The valet parked our car and took car of our skis. Jennifer at the concierge desk made great suggestions for dinner and where to get a massage. She took care of reservations. Our room was beautiful and so was the view. We stayed at the Pines Lodge this summer and we thought this was a very nice hotel. We only stayed a couple of nights and then moved to the Hyatt for business purposes. Our room was very nice and large and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. This hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the nice walk to the village and being a short walking distance from all the noise and activities was nice. If we go back to Beaver Creek this is the hotel I would choose. read more

I cannot say enough great things about the customer service at this hotel! The rooms are nice size and the wood paneling is cozy...not super-chic, but very comfortable. For me, though, the look of a room is secondary to the customer service of of hotel. Everyone was not only friendly, but they seemed genuinely happy to have you as a guest at their hotel. Andy went above and beyond for us many times during our stay. He definitely stands out for his great personality. That is not always the case in ski towns. Too often you get the "locals" vs. tourist attitude. NOT the case in Beaver Creek. My husband and I commented over and over how welcoming everyone working for the Mountain was.
