Absolutely LOVED our stay here! We bought a one night stay through Groupon to celebrate our anniversary and I think it was around $150. We walked in to our room and immediately fell in love! It's just so warm and cozy and actually feels like a home. It didn't feel like every other hotel you stay at. We had a beautiful view on our porch, tv, and of course a king size bed! It was so COMFY! What was even better was when we walked out, we turned left and we were right in Vail Village! Great location! The ONLY thing I was a little disappointed in was the breakfast.. I felt like there wasn't really much to choose from. But, that didn't ruin my stay or my rating! Would LOVE to stay here again!

I've stayed at the Christiania several years in a row now and each time am impressed at the service and endeared by the feeling of home. Multiple room styles, depending on your group/family's needs (traditional style hotel rooms or full suites with kitchens - and balconies!) Many of the rooms are close enough to the nearby stream to hear it bubbling by as you fall asleep at night. Great pool and backyard area for outdoor seating. Close to everything - walking distance to the shops, restaurants, parks, and hiking. Family owned - gotta support the locals! Thanks for another great stay, Christiania!

Simple - best value in Vail. Reluctant to post so others don't catch on but accommodating & friendly staff (& owners) deserve full credit

I'm from Florida so I don't get to see a lot of the nature that is included here but the grounds were immaculate! Beautiful bridges with stepping stones that appeared they were made out of the mountains. Historical markers to truly show you the love that was put into this park!

We did a family trip up to the mountains for a couple of days and on our way back home, we stopped by the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens because I knew my mother in-law loved flowers and I thought she would enjoy it here. We parked in the parking lot next to the big open field. Unfortunately there was an event that day and we had to pay I think $10 (can't remember the exact amount). I guess it evened out since the garden is free? Anywho, the garden was a short walk from the parking lot. It's named after the former first lady who preferred Vail as their vacation spot and helped the community flourish to what it is today. There's signage throughout the garden to read about Betty Ford, the plants, and wild life. It's a small garden, but there are plants from all over the world and we enjoyed strolling through the various paths. My mother in-law enjoyed it as well, so mission accomplished! If you're in the area and love plants and flowers, it's worth a quick stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I decided to make a long past due visit to Archetype to check out their distilled spirits. In addition to their vodka and gin, they make a long list of small batch distilled spirits of various flavors. When you walk in there are a few high top tables and a long bar. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are knowledgeable and will craft a cocktail based on what your favorite flavor profile is. As my friend C says, "if it's muddled N will drink it!" She's not wrong. She speaks the truth. I told the bartender that a cocktail with either the blackberry or strawberry spirits would be a great start. He mixed strawberry with their mint spirit, added soda, and ice in a tall glass. It was really refreshing. Because they have so many different flavored spirits they can craft almost anything. If you like a dirty martini, they have blue cheese and olive flavored spirits. I tasted the blue cheese spirit separately and it was hmmm...interesting by itself but mixed with the olive spirit and "ta-da!" - you've got your dirty martini. Their vodka and wine are made from wine grapes. I didn't get a chance to try either the vodka or gin this time but will definitely be back on my next ski trip to Vail. The distillery is located just a few doors down from Mountain Standard near the bridge over Gore Creek.

If you haven't had the chance to check out Archetype Distillery -- do it…read more As somebody from the distilling industry, I always try to visit a distillery while I'm on vacation.  After seeing Archetype's vodka & gin picking up awards at major tasting competitions, I knew they'd be the perfect stop. We visited their Vail tasting room for a cocktail class -- an activity I highly recommend.  Not only was the class a lot of fun, but it was also a great value.  It included a sampling flight, three cocktails & an hour of entertainment.  Michael is clearly passionate about the spirits he makes & the drinks they craft.  Whether you're a foodie or somebody who just loves a great cocktail, you'll enjoy the class. What I found particularly unique about Archetype's tasting room is their wide offering of house-made distillates/spirits.  They don't need a back bar full of brands that you see everywhere.  Instead, they're able to craft a custom cocktail based on the flavors you enjoy.  From familiar flavors like espresso or citrus to unique ones like blue cheese & truffles, you have the opportunity to find your own signature drink.  I tried several unique combinations & all were delicious!   In short -- from somebody who's been to a lot of distilleries -- make the time to check out Archetype.  The atmosphere was fantastic.  The drinks were delicious.  Their spirits win awards for a reason. You're sure to have a unique experience.

Attended a stunning wedding here…read more The space really has so many gorgeous little details. From the small welcome area that can serve as a bar for welcome drinks, to the ceremony area, which truly is so magical feeling as it surrounded by trees, and the sound of a bubbling creek, to the actual house, infrastructure that has bathrooms for guests, as well as respective dressing rooms for parties, this is a unique and gorgeous venue. During the reception that I attended here, we dined under their large, heated tent, which had plenty of room for everything that was needed. There was also WiFi available on site. I'd love to attend another event here. Really lovely spot.

It was love at first sight. Cheryl gave us the tour at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, she has a beautiful soul as did everyone who works for this venue. Each one of them were so kind and helpful. This venue has years of experience and a preferred list of vendors that make this process much easier and more relaxed as they work so well together (and as a bride you feel comfortable and confident that everything will go well). This is very important working as a team to create such a special day for two people. None of our family or invited friends knew about this place. We had guests from Minnesota, Mexico, California, Spain, Colombia, Panama, and other countries. We knew that they were making a huge sacrifice to be here on our special day. The time for the wedding arrived and when our guests arrived at Blackstone Rivers Ranch they were stunned and delighted, our guests did not stop commenting that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to. We had compliments about the venue, catering, DJ, coordinator, photographer, EVERYTHING from our guests. As a bride I was afraid of having the same problem as the other brides, who always had some complaint or something that did not go the way they wanted on their special day, BUT NO I was not one of those brides (YAY)! My wedding was the best and the most perfect thanks to Blackstone Rivers Ranch and their list of preferred vendors. Without the help of BRR my wedding would not have been possible to plan as perfectly. Every penny invested in this wedding was worth it to the fullest. My husband and I are more than sure that it was the best decision we have ever made in having a big wedding with 100 guests and not a small wedding with only 15 or 20 guests. My guests fell in love with our wedding and the venue and they couldn't stop talking about it. They all told us that it was worth the sacrifice they made to travel from far away to experience the beautiful views of the mountains and the river at the venue, the big and beautiful white tent. EVERYTHING was romantic and unique. My husband and I will always be grateful to BRR, our words and gratitude will not be enough for the enormous satisfaction and happiness we had on our wedding day.
