2/17/25 Great market! They have a lot of different grocery, alcohol, Bass Lake souvenirs like sweaters, keychains and much more. I ended up getting toothpaste, bananas(looked Fresh & Great) & Pinot Noir for Sunday! They have a large variety of all different wines. I picked one that I haven't tried and it was on sale. Very organized and easy to find what you need! Clean too! Checkout after that and the worker was very kind. I paid for it, she bagged it for me and handed it over with good day wishes! Appreciated! This lovley little market is our lifeline while staying at the lake! I always know they are there for anything we might need. The kids love walking down to the Pines for all their snack 'needs' on any given day. The staff is wonderful, Celia is our favorite gal there. She's always got a smile for everyone and is just a joy to see every time we visit the market. The deli on back has a new menu this year we're eager to try out. OH, one of our favorite things we've only found here are the flavored milks! Try the banana milk if you see it. And say hi to Celia if she's there. read more

Some of these reviews crack me up with what people choose to complain about... this store is great. It has everything you could think of. It is the only store in the area but you can tell they put much thought into inventory. Note: This store has regular coffee available. No espresso machines for lattes or cappuccinos. When my family and I were staying in Bass Lake, we ended up going to Pines Market a few times to pick up things we forgot or just other things we needed. This market has a variety of items, ranging from food to souvenirs and clothing to car supplies. If you need something while you're in Bass Lake, chances are that they'll have it here. It is definitely more expensive than your traditional grocery store, but that surely has to do with the fact that it is pretty secluded. On one of my visits, Mary was my cashier and she was so sweet! Stopped here twice while vacationing in the area. Once for the souvenirs, of which they have a decent selection at the "normal" price, and once for ice cream bars after a meal locally. While souvenir shopping? The chicken on a stock looked and smelled so good our souvenir trip turned into 2 chicken on a Sticks, 2 biscuits gravy, macaroni, buttery white corn in the cob, all GREAT! Everything you need in case you forgot anything at home! We stayed the weekend in a chalet at Pines Resort but planned ahead and packed our cooler full, knowing the was a full kitchen inside the spacious cabin, so we didn't necessarily need anything from this market and deli. Did pick up some cute earrings for $5 and a few cheap postcards! They have cold food, boxed food, clothing and toys. They even sell fishing gear and licenses here. read more

Fairly good size store for a little lakeside resort. There was a little bit of everything. Small produce area. It looked like there were Deli or hot items in the back of the store. Beer and wine. Cereal, dry goods...whatever you would expect from a grocery store. A snack and candy aisle. If you're staying in the chalets or Duceys, chances are they'll have what you forgot or need. Prices were a bit high, but that's to be expected for the location. read more

They have nothing in there except processed food, bad bread selection, no meat, vegetables are wrinkled and not many of them but most of all, the people on the cash registers are nasty, unhelpful and have no smiles or welcoming personalities. The only way I ended up there is I was stuck. No availability of anything else at that particular time. Nasty people work there and I'd been there before and the same reptilian responses from the cashiers. I live around there and have avoided it ever since the first time but, like I said, I was stuck with no other options and it was late. EVERYONE from the area says the same thing; they get treated like they are bothersome and these cashiers have a ball to go to or something. read more

This is basically the only store to go to if you need anything and we always come here. It is more expensive than your regular market butttt if you need anything this is the store to go to. We decided to grab some frozen pizzas, vodka, wine, chips and dip tonight! The customer service is good and everyone that works here is helpful and nice. Not much else around you but this is a great market with all the goods you need for a great little vacation especially if you are camping, glamping or staying in one of the sweet cabins. Poor quality merchandise!! Do not but any shirts from this store because they will not refund you, they will blame you for washing the shirt wrong!! It was our last vacation day at Bass Lake soI we decided to get a couple of souvenirs before we left town...I got a cool shirt...looked awesome in the store. I tried it on, snapped a picture then the next day I washed it according to the directions but the shirt completely faded. None of the other clothes that were washed with it turned like this... no bleach was used! I called the store, they said they'd give me a refund but they wanted to see a picture first so I texted them a picture. Its been 2 weeks now and the owner said she will not give me a refund cause it was my fault for washing it with bleach. I tried to explain that I didn't wash the load with bleach cause it was a light colored load. She didn't understand. English was obviously not her first language so it was hard to get her to understand. Anyway, she refused to give me a refund and blamed me for everything. I guess now days anyone can sell a cheap quality shirt for $20 and never give a refund when it is ruined but blame the customer. I can't even use this shirt as a rag, that's how shit quality it is!!! read more

Unsafe for kids & unfriendly. They have a lot of cheap glass souvenirs at the height of kid's view. My little kid accidentally broke one of them. Instead of ask us if she ok, the man at the counter began to shout "you have to pay for it" in very rude manner. The glass souvenir was really cheap, I'm ok to pay for it if my kid broke it, but the stuff should be more polite with kids. read more

I like the pines Markey because they are the only game in town. They do what they want whenever they want. You don't have to shop here, but you can drive 30 miles out and not get the bass lake vibe that it is known for. I live here, not rent here, my home is here I'm here year round. oh it's so sad. This Market is horrendous. The area is beautiful and the lake spectacular and then you stop in the market to pick up a couple things... AND HAPPY VACATION GONE! Overpriced, a strange lingering odor, but the worst the VERY WORST thing is the staff. RUDE MISERABLE BITTER checkers who could care less. I not only had to wait forever (not crowded mind you) I got overcharged. When I showed them the mistake the man was mad at Me! Then I had to wait for a manager who refunded me the 15 bucks overcharge. Then a woman checker got involved and she was just a negative Nellie. I just wanted to get the heck out of there. In talking with the staff at the resort they informed me the market is owned by a separate company and they and the locals refuse to shop there because of the rudeness and prices. This is the small market in the Pine's Village at Bass Lake. Now, it's not a gigantic Vons. But it does seem to have all of the important things that you need on vacation. It has a small meat dept., canned goods, breads, small produce section, lots of snacks, ice cream, sun screen and laundry supplies. It also has a really yummy lunch counter in the back with pre-cooked foods and pre-made sandwiches. You can also get a custom made sandwich made however you like with all the veggies you want on it. I don't understand the people writing reviews about this market saying the staff is un friendly. I've been multiple years and stay in some small cabin near willow cove, and my morning routine around 630 or 7 in the morning is to walk down to the market and get a breakfast burrito, which is very good, and orange juice. The staff I encountered was very friendly. Ya the shelves aren't filled up and it could be nicer but if I wanted some princess market with a ton of variety I would go to Beverly Hills and find some whole foods. It's got the essentials with a nice staff. People are too sensitive these days complaining about friendliness. Stop expecting a hug and a kiss when you go buy some milk and bread by the lake. It's not some massage place with happy endings. Planning to go to the lake again this year and will continue wth my routine. Like I said of course it could be nicer but it's got character and everything you need. Plus a nice location. Giving it 4 stars just because I do agree with other reviews that some of the shelves are scarce. Not much to complain about though. read more

Worst customer service of any store I've been to. On a lazy Monday morning in August, the peak of their season, the wife and I walked 1.1 miles with the dogs to the Pines Market to get a breakfast burrito, which are typically very good. We arrived at the food counter at 9:45am and ask for the burrito. They refused to make the burrito because "they stop serving breakfast at 9:30 am." There were two employees behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. After begging politely, they refused over and over to make one burrito, stating they are only serving lunch now. So I left and went outside to talk to my wife about it, she was holding the dogs, so we decided to get a bacon and egg sandwich for lunch. Went back inside and ordered the sandwich and they said they have no eggs. Remember this is a market and in the refrigerated display right next to the food counter there were several crates of eggs. I don't know about you but 9:45am is a reasonable time to have breakfast when your on vacation. The lack of cooperation by the staff and disrespect of the customer makes it impossible to recommend this food counter to even my worst enemies. I've been to this store in the past and the service was a lot more reasonable. I understand the store is now under new management, the service of this establishment has gone into the toilet. read more
