I feel this store is sometimes held to unrealistic expectations for what it is. This isn't a Whole Foods or a Vons -- it's an independent neighborhood grocery store serving the local community. For the services they provide, I think they do a great job. The staff has always been helpful, friendly, and willing to assist whenever I've needed something. I haven't tried the deli yet, so I can't speak to that, but overall this store does a great job filling an important need for the neighborhood.

Somehow, one store kept pulling us back, and that's Grocery Outlet. There are several reasons for that: (1) The store always looks clean and their shelves are well stocked. (2) 99% of the time, the checker welcomes you with a smile and wishes you a good day. (3) All the staff are trained well. (4) The music they play doesn't break your ear-drums. In fact, shoppers seem happy to hum or sing along, which breaks the ice and make shoppers appear happy. (5) They don't change things around unnecessarily so you know exactly which aisle to go to for the products you need. Overall, I think the owners have done a splendid job in training their staff, their music choice, and the environment they created. I've been shopping there ever since except on the rare occasion I want roasted chicken or have no organic tea left. (Sometimes they have it but not always). Several of the aisles were bare and we noticed that they raised the price of some of their goods. The new pricing may be to help them pay for the cost of the remodel - but, why remodel only to raise the prices and make it difficult for customers to navigate the aisles? Even the staff have trouble pointing out where the things are when asked. This is especially hard to grasp when our economy is at its worse times for the past several years. We're going to have to tighten our belts even more... and find a new grocery store to shop at. Sad!

When traveling with two small children and a grandmother, those emergency bathroom stops happen more than you think. Thankfully we found the Savemart via the Yelp app and discovered not only some of the cleanest, public restrooms, but also amazing air conditioning, super organized shelves and a friendly staff. The family restrooms are located in the back of the store while the non-family restrooms are in the far left corner of the store. Beyond clean restrooms to save Mart has an amazing produce section, fully loaded deli and a cute little bakery tucked in the corner. Basically everything most Save Mart's offer. I head to Sacramento around three to four times a year for both work and for pleasure, so I will be bookmarking this Save Mart in my road trip restroom collection! Potty hard, my friends.

We would have spent more, but the rude lady at the bakery was cleaning and didn't acknowledge any of us or even look up. We gave up on buying anything sweet after standing there trying to get her attention for 10 minutes since apparently they only clean floors here and don't actually help customers. This same lady put her hoodie on and left and ended up right in front of us in Amanda's line checking out. These two conversed then we walked up. We said hello, no response. She kept her head down the entire time and refused to make eye contact or acknowledge us. That's fine. We paid for our items, but looked back and an older non brown lady walked up and she was greeted and treated with decency. This Amanda is probably the rudest cashier I've come across and we have Walmarts in our town. Lol IYKYK She is the reason this store should have self checkout.
