Pineville Lake Park has lots of play areas for the kids to play in. I saw 4-5 different playground areas. They were close-ish together, but it would be hard to keep an eye on a child if they went to another area without you, if you brought multiple children. They were not all fenced in, and there is a lake close by, so keep that in mind. The play areas were nice, but note that there is no shade except for one tree. On a hot summer day, the lack of shade can be brutal. My 2 year old was able to enjoy one of the play areas. When he gets to be a bit older, I know he will enjoy the other areas more.

Walking paths for miles, or at least it seemed like it when I stopped here today to get a little bit of outside time. The park has a really nice playground that is handicap-accessible and one of the swings appears designed for those who might be mobility challenged. That's awesome. The lake is lovely and you can walk a circuit easy enough. There is also a really nice bandshell with a stage in front of a sloped grassy area. Cool. Lots of parking. This park is super cute and very family oriented. We discovered this park on Yelp one day while in the area with our toddler and I was still carrying our infant. We definitely lucked up with this one as it's very family oriented and spacious with a lot for the little ones to do. There is a large lake in the middle which is great for looks and adds a level of relaxation for the parents accompanying the children. We've never had to use the restroom while there however recently our toddler and his play date who is female had to go and the restrooms were closed and there was a sign directing people the office like building in the park. Turns out when we approached they had a sign saying no restrooms which is contradicting especially since people were inside working so obviously there were restrooms I just think they didn't want to accommodate the crowd on the first warm day of Spring. This is the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars because how do they expect people to go potty, it would ruin the grounds if people went outdoors. Overall a great park for a picnic, birthday party (they have tables and a covered area and grills), a play date, some family time and more.

What a beautiful park. Went here today for the first time and had to leave a review. Splash pads are oddly sparse in this hot climate, so I was happy to find one. This splash park is awesome, and the water gets drained, filtered and recycled through the sprinkler. The kind maintenance man gave us the rundown today, I think it's great they don't waste so much water. There's a large playground split into three areas all close together, a shaded picnic area, and a gorgeous clean lake with a path all around it. Just be careful by the lake rocks. There are water snakes. Won't hurt you but will scare you. Everybody I encountered was so friendly and kind. Lots of families. They also have bathrooms. I didn't use them so speak of their condition but they are there. Was happy to discover this place.

The park is going under several remodeling. I love the Read at Loud along the path on the pond. It's a great way for our children to learn and engage with an adult. There is plenty of parking around, just remember there are multiple way to get to the parking. In the summer there is a splash park too. And the dog park is along side the park too.

Love the lake at this park! Such a nice walking trail, and a big playground for the kiddos too. Definitely recommend!

Located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, you would never expect moderate dense forrest that feels so far removed from civilzation. Yet here it is. The only real hint of a city is the hum of car tires on 485 which the preserve backs up to. But you can easily get lost (figuratively) in the rustling of the leaves and forget all about the freeway. Park on the side of the street and hike in. You'll soon walk across a a little foot bridge. Then on to the parks namesake, some big rocks. There is one interpretive sign which tells a bit about the area. Continue on past that and the big rocks down the hill and to the swampy creek. As the lady we passed on the trail described it. There is a narrow portion of trail next to a small cliff following the stream. Then turn and head back up the hill and out. Congratulations, you have completed a walk of about half a mile. It isn't much. And not especially strenuous. My grandparents who are in their 80s were about to do it. This is just a good place to get into nature, get in your steps, and not have to go too far to do it.

We both looked at each other thinking the same thing, this is not going to be what we thought. The real attraction here is the rock. It's massive and appears to have been there for many years. It appears that it was been work overtime by water flow as it has unique indentations that are what you see in rocks by fast flowing rapids. We went in early March and it was nice and cool and the leaves were not out so you can get a clear view of the forest. You can hike this thing in maybe 20 minutes and not get you heart rate up.
