In my continuing efforts to get a hot dog in each county in Virginia, I pulled into the Pink Cadillac Diner for an early lunch on a Thursday in Rockbridge County, Virginia. It was quiet as we walked up but two vans of tourists pulled in right behind us so we quickly got inside and were sat. The vibe of the place was very classic. I especially liked the pink coffee mugs. We had looked at the menu online in advance so we had settled on our order. We got The King, peanut butter, banana, and bacon, Elvis's favorite sandwich with an order of onion rings. With permission from our server we also got a hot dog off of the children's menu with chili, mustard, and cole slaw on the side, with a side of fries. Our food came out quickly. The sandwich was a nice size on really well-toasted bread. I couldn't taste much bacon. The peanut butter and the bananas were the primary flavors. The hot dog was good. The chili was stew-chili and not a classic hot dog chili. The big tomato chunks were the big clue as it was set down in front of me. That being said, we still enjoyed it (we split and shared both). The onion rings were especially good. Our server was really kind and attentive even while she got pulled away to help with the big group that came in after us. I think this place is definitely worth a stop for a bit of nostalgia. I think I'll be back for a ice cream treat!

A pretty good cheesesteak with friendly service in a relaxed Elvis inspired dining room

Fun ambiance, friendly diner service. This burger was good--prepared as ordered. My husband had a breakfast plate and said it was good as well. Simple diner food, nothing fancy

I stopped into Pink Cadillac Diner with my partner during a long travel day filled with traffic (week before Thanksgiving), and it ended up being such a fun and nostalgic break! The diner is decked out in 1950s décor with Elvis Presley touches, the menu pays tribute to the King and his favorite foods -bacon and peanut butter anyone? We ordered burgers, my partner got the Mac Attack, and it looked absolutely delicious, (mac and cheese on a burger) with sweet potato fries. I went with a regular hamburger and added the Pink Cadillac sauce on the side plus pickles. Highly recommend both additions! Service was friendly, and the food hit the spot without taking too long, which was perfect for us while on the road. Overall, a great little pit stop with yummy comfort food and a playful retro atmosphere including a jukebox and ice cream counter.

We had fun! I mean it's a pink diner...what's not to love?! Food was classic diner food, fried pickles were really good! We had the fried pickles and some pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream!

Delicious. Quick. Clean. One of the best Buffalo chicken wraps I've ever had. I will be back!

We arrived for breakfast and stood at the host stand forever before being acknowledged or seated. When we were seated it was in a dirty booth that had not been wiped. The server (Chloe) knew it had not been wiped because she cleaned the last of it while we were standing there. Luckily I have kids and brought wipes so I took care of it myself, I also wiped up the strands of stranger hair left behind in the booth seat. The atmosphere wasn't terrible, the place has potential and was relatively busy. The food was not great. No sausage in the biscuits and gravy, dry biscuit. Overcooked gristly sausage. Small portions. If you're on the road and starving, it's food. But do not expect anything spectacular.

The food is average at best. Cute establishment. Good service. Didn't have ice cream or dessert but looked tasty

I wanted to get the skirt steak and fries, but unfortunately that wasn't an option online. I opt'd for the burger, as did my boyfriend, both of our burgers came out with the wrong toppings. Oh well, we ate them and they were fine. Seems like a typical, frozen burger patty. The french fries were very greasy. We also sat outside here for a drink at one point. They have a very cute patio in the back of the restaurant. I got the Lex vegas, it was thick because of the puree. I didn't think about that, it wasn't as refreshing as I thought it would have been. I really didn't have too much interaction with the staff as we just ordered a drink and then online pickup but everyone seems nice and helpful.

My neighbor and I were visiting Buchanan to have his John Deere mower serviced, and we asked the salespeople where we could get a good lunch. The staff unanimously recommended the North Star, but we were cautioned not to order the double-cheeseburger unless we were very hungry. They were right. It is rare to get a burger prepared exactly the way I prefer one (cheese, ketchup, and loaded with grilled onions), and the North Star didn't disappoint. My friend ordered the double-cheeseburger and loved his meal as well. The fries were really good, and reminiscent of New York diner fries. My wife and I have been back more than a few times when we are in the mood for an excellent burger.

Real talk: I stumbled upon this eatery years ago, but never had the opportunity to go 'off the beaten path' on our road trips to stop by - I couldn't wait to check this local eatery with their super cute logo! The hubs and I stopped by here and had a biscuit sandwich, a Hot Roast Beef dinner, and one of their famous hand-pattied burgers (which we actually stayed for an additional hour or so, as they weren't serving the burgers until later!). While the biscuit was forgettable, the hot roast beef was so scrumptious! It was so hearty, savory, and stick-to-your-rib deliciousness, and such a comfort meal on a plate! The burger was ginormous, and you can tell that they hand-form the fresh patties; the patty was super juicy and all the toppings were fresh. Service was so friendly, welcoming, and with a smile! The restaurant itself has such a charm, and I'd love to be able to return again to check out their holiday buffets!

My dad used to love to come here for the buffet after Sunday services at the church and we would stop in here for a burger during summers after he picked me up when he got off work. Their burgers are handmade (meaning they are hand pattied) and used to be very good. During certain times when you stop in there will be buffets offered with things like frog's legs and the like so if you want to get some local country fixings you can try to haunt the board for those things. I tend to stick to what I know and go with simple items and wouldn't order anything other than a sandwich or the burger from here. It's simple food with a simple kitchen and it's very good for what it is. But this is not a fancy place. It's a small diner in a small town run by friendly locals. Temper your expectations, if you find yourself here and hungry, it'll hit the spot.

I was so taken aback I just gave it back to her and she brought me a $10 bill for it into the parking lot. Strange and embarrassing and she was aggressive about it. Prior to that we had all gotten lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal and wandered around the shop looking at the little knick-knacks for sale on some shelves by the dining seating area. My mom got a chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread, I had a turkey reuben, my husband had a pastrami reuben and my father-in-law had a chili and grilled cheese. Food was out quickly and it was ALL delicious. I tried the chicken salad and it was some of the best I've ever had. Huge portions and fresh food all homemade (the chili was good). They had some fresh pies and pastries for sale as well - everything looked delicious and fresh and homemade. In the end, I felt so upset that we went back and said I wanted to return the other small item I had purchased, a little bumblebee tea light holder, she asked why and we explained we didn't like how the other issue went down and she sincerely apologized and said she hadn't handled it properly and offered to give it as a gift as a gesture of good will. She was kind and explained she's selling and had taken a phone call in the back and was stressed. I understand and her apology was sincere. I appreciated that. All in all - cute shop, good food, cute items. After we sorted the issue - I'd happily come back. Sounds like it is about to be under new management so not sure how much it will change. Hopefully the chicken salad stays the same! YUM.
