We happened to be in the area and decided to try this restaurant , it was about the only one in this small town and I hate to be Debbie Downer but nah I would never eat here again . I've never had hamburger steak that not only didn't taste like one but the green peppers and onions was cut ver y different than what should've been and the meat was very differnet . What a pleasant surprise! Don't let the outside fool you (or the lack of decor inside, either). There aren't a ton of dining options in the area, which is just fine because this place is all you need. Super friendly staff, we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. I always worry when I see a varied menu. This one has typical Italian and American fare. Burgers, pizza, Italian entrees, hot dogs, salads, etc. It makes you wonder if any are done well. Surprise! They all are. The kid got a double cheeseburger, Hubby had a chicken "steak" sandwich, I had baked ziti and we took a pizza home for dinner later. Now that's varied. The kid's burger, while cooked with no pink, was super juicy and cheesy. It came with a ton of fries (he got his loaded). Hubby's sandwich was loaded with chicken - he was a big fan. The fries were cooked beautifully. My ziti came piping hot (it was still bubbling) and was oh so good. A think layer of gooey cheese blanketed perfectly cooked pasta, with a nice sauce. I would have liked to have seen a touch more ricotta. My side salad was super fresh, though it only had iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, but that was fine - it was fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette was tasty. The garlic bread was a nice surprise. Usually you don't expect much from a side of garlic bread, but this was really good - garlic flavor and a nice amount of spices. The pizza we took home for dinner heated up very well. The crust was crisp and there was a decent amount of extra cheese. Very tasty. When we're in the area again, this will be a must stop. We love Scotto's. We should have eaten here for all of our meals. There were a few people dinning in and everyone had all different types of food and everyone was happy with their food. Our burgers were fantastic. Perfect bacon and great thick tasty burger. Fries were yummy too. Too many fir us to eat the whole big burger and eat all of the fries. I got them to go and ate the the next day. They were still great. Loved the service. The decor is not much to look at but it is nice and clean. I thought it was great. read more

Excellent pizza, I would order again. We went to Virginia Safari and this was a great location to pick up (carry out) excellent pizza and subs, service was friendly and responsive to our needs. Service was fantastic. We could not have had friendlier service. They were great with kids too. Food was okay but probably best option in the area. The calzone was pretty good but you have to pay extra for things that normally come with a calzone like ricotta and sauce. They seem to use marinated or canned peppers which are ok on a sub but not so much on pizza or a calzone. Fresh raw ingredients would be much better (mushrooms, peppers). The kids meals got thumbs up from them. Nothing came with it though like a side or drink so although they aren't badly priced, you're going to spend a lot more than a normal kids meal when the sides and drinks are added. Family and I went in. We waited for 15 min on a server. The table next to us had a young girl for a server who was eating a fried pickle as she waited on the table beside us. A lady brought my husband a drink as me and the kids went to the bathroom. When we came out of the bathroom and she said she would be right with us. We sat 10 more minutes and then left $3 on the table for my husbands drink. I wouldn't go outta my way here to stop ever again. Poor service! read more

We have been here twice, both times for take-out and our order has always been ready within 10 minutes. So far we've tried the fried mushrooms, southern salad, meat lovers calzone and the special (supreme) calzone. Everything has been good, although nothing different from your typical southern fried food joint. Stand outs are the calzones. The dough is fresh and oh so good, and it is filled generously. Make sure you order an extra side of the tomato sauce. Make sure you check out their specials. Scotto's is our small towns pizza joint. We don't really have much but they offer a variety of food from American to Italian. The owner is there almost every single day they are open. He cares about his customers more than anything. If an order is wrong he will be sure to fix it. The restaurant has dining in with a lot of space. Depending on the time and day you go it can either be full or good for a quiet evening. They keep it very clean in there. Especially the bathrooms!! Scotto's also supports any local events in Glasgow more than any other business locally. They set up a food station and offer good deals for the event. If we do not feel like cooking we almost always grab a pizza from there. On Wednesdays they have a Large pizza special! Their fried oysters are to die for as well! However their chicken tenders, boneless wings, burgers, and chopped steak is good as well. If you love cheese fries their loaded fries are AMAZING! I'm not big on sour cream but it has cheese, bacon, and sour cream but you can get it how you like. The building itself has been around for many many years. They have a plaque in the building honoring the original owner of that building. They are also welcoming to all the hikers that come in through the area for part of the Appalachian trail. I didn't think I'd like this place as much as I did. We were visiting for a couple days and were starving after doing a little hiking. I had no idea they had so many things on their menu. This place in Glasgow, VA, has great wings, pizza, and hotdogs, among other menu offerings. Serves Pepsi products, which is a boon to a Diet Pepsi addict. The staff is super friendly. It's near some hiking trail, I think the Appalachian, because there's a sign out front that says due to space, please leave your packs outside. Just a little hole-in-the-wall in a charming little town where the only other discernible businesses are a Dollar General, a hair salon, and a textile mill. The owner and wait staff seems to know every customer by name. The food is quality, and the place is located on a super-scenic drive 14 minutes from Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge. Pros: There is a view of a dinosaur. The wine is around $2 a glass. There are things here I've never seen before in my life such as a Dixie Burger and Hot Dog Pizza. The Dixie burger is fine but it doesn't taste much different than a regular burger. Cons: I've gotten quicker service in a restaurant with 2 customers. I'm pretty sure that the sauce is ketchup. I'm pretty sure that the sauce is ketchup because they have the Ballpark Pizza which is hot dogs and fries with cheese on a crust with no sauce. Oh wait...never mind. Talk about a very good tasty meal. This place is far from fancy, seems like you are walking into a big trailer...big open carpeted area with a few tables. Staff are very attentive. Our waitress was always smiling and took care of us throughout. Kids had the hot dogs with chips (not sure that chips is the best side for kids though) and husband and I had two pasta meals. He finished his stuffed shells but I could only eat half my spaghetti and meat sauce. Very sauce and loved the oven bakes cheese on the top. Sauce seemed homemade and the noodles were al dente. Garlic bread was good! Toasted on the outside and plenty of butter, garlic and spices on the inside. Bill was not expensive for such a good dinner. Definitely recommend! My friend had a calzone and could only eat half of it. Our waitress was friendly and totally helpful in picking our food. When I said I just wanted chicken fingers, she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Seriously? You come here and all you want is chicken fingers?"
