I love this cozy bakery. I stopped here with my family for breakfast and loved the artwork posted about. We came for a simple breakfast but found it was really really delicious. My 6yo daughter had the waffles, I got the twoseez which was basically toast, scrambled eggs and bacon (which said daughter took), pre-teen son had a bagel sandwich, and wife had an omelette. My wife's omelette was extremely flavorful. What really made it wonderful was the owner's kindness and honesty. Knowing we were tourists asked us what we planned on doing and when mentioning the near by safari park, he said "oh don't play to feed the animals" which was exactly what we needed our kids to hear because two week prior the kids had a field trip to a petting zoo and my daughters class including her all got sick and I didn't want a repeat of that on our vacation... so thank you dude. It's a bakery, but we stopped in for sandwiches on a cold day in December. (Note they also have soup.) Place is cute and has quite a few tables. Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious. I had the vegetable panini, which was delicious and flavorful, and the bread was amazingly good! The other one had a gyro, which he only wished had been bigger (not that it was small.) The baked goods looked fantastic, but we didn't try any. Definitely recommend if you're looking for soup, sammies or sweets. read more

Went there today as we drove into town. We sat at the table for 15 minutes being ignored. We got up to leave and and an Asian male worker who was escorting other people into the restaurant saw us leaving. He said good bye, I said we were leaving as we did not get service. He began to go on a rant about how his restaurant works. I said good bye again and walked out the door. He followed us into the street raising his voice and cursing us. I just kept saying good bye as we walked away to the sound to his street mouth curses. IDK who hired this person, or if he owns it, he is in the wrong business. Maybe he should consider another occupation. I would suggest truck driver, but I would not want to degrade the truck drivers to his level. My recommendation is to go somewhere else till he learns hospitality and some manors. read more

We are visiting friends in Lexington, VA from Aurora, CO. We saw Shane's Sweet Treat ad in the Sunday bulletin. The steak and eggs were well seasoned and prepared to perfection. The eggs Benedict were also very tasty. I had a mimosa and my wife had the juice with no happy bubbles. I still can't believe how affordable the meal was. I call and order for delivery for my son birthday. Did not even ask me question where can they delivery? They just assume that they know where to go. They are so rude. The guy that taking order and he say he deliver it to the different place for his school. This place is so rude whoever talking on the phone and take my order and I pay everything. Appears to be standard breakfast foods but don't be fooled: everything is prepared by experts, it seems, because it all tastes better than any chain restaurant I've been too. I'm used to breakfast foods leaning heavily on sugar and salt as their only tricks but everything at Sweet Treats went above and beyond that. The French toast had flavor before I put syrup on them. The eggs were delicious without me having to salt them. And the potatoes are a far cry from the bland little cubes I get elsewhere. These breakfast potatoes rivaled many dinner restaurants I've been to. Amazing stuff. I highly recommend this bakery for breakfast. read more

This is an amazing restaurant, and we can't wait to come back! I had the Cuban sandwich, which was delicious in every way. My wife had a cranberry chicken salad sandwich, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We drank coffee, which was unusually delicious, and had a Keylime tart and a berry tart for a really delicious dessert. Their menu has not changed for something like 45 years. Great atmosphere, great service, and superior food. What more do you want? This was our first time to visit Lexington, the downtown area is vibrant and full of wonderful shops. We loved our time here. This place looks classical and the outside looks very casual, when I walked in there was a server waiting for me there and he was very friendly. He greeted me and invited me to order, so I ordered a French toast w/ a omelette and a bagel The waiter immediately sat me down and the food arrived five mins later. The bagel was crunchy and had creamy cheese inside of it, and it was toasted greatly. The French toast had some flavor, but was a bit bland. It was soft, with the sugar sprinkled all over the toast. The omelette was delicious and it had toppings of your choice ham, bell peppers, and more. Do yourself a favor and run dont walk to their fried eggs, heavenly pancakes, waffle perfection, crisp bacon, breakfast sandwiches, danishes and cupcakes and surprisingly delicious coffee with free refills! Crazy good stuff! Not a single suggestion can I offer on the perfection. What can even come close? Service. At a time where customer service is a dying art and the new motto is "we are priority not the customer...", This brother team scores a home run and reminds us that an exceptional business is an entire package from the service, attention to detail, high quality goods, atmosphere and attitude! Five stars on all! Small, charming, homey atmosphere that is nostalgic to the bygone eras. We were looking for a place to have a late breakfast/early lunch. I read that Sweet Treats Bakery would be a good place but I was not impressed. You basically walk into total chaos. There are people standing around everywhere and it is unclear on how to order. Do you wait for a table, do you just sit down at whatever table you want, do they come take your order, do you order at the counter? What? We (and others) had to wait and observe what the process was. We realized that we ordered at the counter. So we ordered and sat at a table and waited. My husband needed coffee but the regular was empty and was not refilled during our visit. The food was just average. We ate at this restaurant a couple of years ago and it was nice. Not sure what happened this time but it was awful. The food arrived to our table barely warm. Plus they messed up the order on three of the four orders from our group. When we tried to explain to the server we were treated rudely. She acted like it was our fault and turned and walked away. Sweet Treats is a definitely Lexington's sweet treat. I had only ever come here for the cannolis when I craved something fast and sweet. I came here for breakfast and I really enjoyed the $4 breakfast sandwich, which is egg and bacon on a croissant. The egg was fluffy and the croissant was soft and flakey. The staff was very friendly, as they checked up on me often and even helped me pour hot water for my tea at the drink bar. There is a good selection of sweets here, ranging from cookies to cannolis and yummy looking pies. Will definitely try one of the pies next time I come! We found this place just walking downtown Lexington. We stopped in, got a piece of lemon cake and a slice of key lime pie. The customer service was amazing. And the cake was great. I'm not the biggest fan of lemon cake but this one was very moist and very light. Hubby had the key lime pie, in which was more cheesecake like than custard like which he enjoyed thoroughly.
