Wanted to update my review since I've been going to Jane for about 8 years now (time is an illusion), and my 5-star experience hasn't wavered even a bit. In fact, I wish I could give her 10 stars. The thing that really stands out about her is how much she cares about her clients. She cares about making them feel comfortable. She cares about listening to whatever is going on in their lives. She cares about creating a welcoming environment. Mostly, she cares about providing a really great service. I've always left my appointments with her with a little spring in my step. It's weird to say that getting waxed is fun when it hurts like hell, but she makes this something I look forward to. She is just so fun and easy to be around! I also love that I never feel judged or uncomfortable; Pink Moon is truly a safe space. There are NO pretentious vibes here. Wanted to note this blurb from her website because she truly stands by this, and I know these can be important criteria when deciding who to go to: "My studio welcomes everyone: clientele of all races, ethnicities, genders and body types. I love and support my fat, POC, LGBTQ, transgender and gender-nonconforming clientele." I have been seeing Jane for waxes and facials for two years. She is an expert in her field and has helped me improve the quality of my skin over time, all while making me feel special, loved, and beautiful. She's like my fairy god mother! I can recommend her to anyone wholeheartedly and without reservations. GO SEE JANE if you have skin problems you're looking for help with! This was my first time going to Jane. I met her in a coffee shop recently and was recounting some of my terrible experiences with getting waxed and sugared once I found out what she did. And because of her forthright candor and calming personality, I decided to give her a try. I was tired of bleeding when I got waxed from the services being too rough, or burned by the wax because it was too hot, or the sugaring taking too long and getting everywhere. I ****LOVE**** HER!!! I was still very new to bikini waxing (my very first experience was awful and scared me from going again for a while) but decided to get myself a Groupon because I really, really wanted a bikini wax still. Jane is so wonderful. I could talk to her for hours about the Game of Thrones and other things but I only get to spend like 20 minutes with her, haha. Those minutes go by so quickly, too. She makes the experience quick, painless and fun. She also made that Groupon go a long way; it almost felt like I was getting a free treatment. So I am pretty much a waxing aficionado , and I will search until I find my wax person. And ELISE is the bomb. She did a great job and such a lovely person. I was comfortable it was as painless as a vagina waxing can be . The only issue I had is the fact that adding the backside is 22$. Thats a bit steep and unnecessary . I could see if that's all I came in for or if I had an extra hairy butt crack. No other place I have ever gone to,charges that much as it is usually included in the price. Waxing can be a painful process, but it actually feels FUN when you are at Pink Moon because you end up laughing and chatting away with Jane so much you hardly even notice it. Best waxer in PDX., hands down. I have been a client of Jane's for well over a year and can say without reservation that her waxing skills are superb. Her personality is delightful. Her treatment room is relaxing and she does the best damn brows in town. If you pay attention to her instructions for aftercare and rebook according to schedule, you will find yourself one smooth operator in just a couple of months. After some bad experiences with other waxers, it took me a while to realize I could trust Jane. Over a year ago I found Jane on Yelp and I'm so glad I booked a facial with her. I've been a loyal client of hers since that time. Jane is so friendly and her skills are top-notch! Jane is Stupendous! She is incredibly good at her job, professional, and yet totally at ease and fun to be around! She takes your mind off the ripping sounds and vicious pain, and the fact that your nethers are blowing in the breeze by sincerely engaging you in conversation. Jane is da bomb when it comes to removing those pesky little hairs, from head to toe. Having been stuffed into a teensy room at Dosha and paying waaaay too much for a lousy wax job, I decided to try a local girl. I was not disappointed. Jane's studio is relaxing and she is a perfectionist - a good trait in your waxer! She can coax out the most recalcitrant hair, and so fast you'll never know what happened. Jane is so awesome! She is super sweet and very thorough. She makes the oh-so-uncomfortable brazilian wax not only tolerable, but often entertaining! She is great at minimizing the pain and even better at keeping you chatting to distract you from it. She charges about the same as any other waxer, but you get such better service. I went through four other waxers with miserable results and/or experiences (and a bad experience with a brazilian is a really bad experience) before I found Jane. I've been going to her for three years and I wouldn't go to anyone else! my right eyebrow has a scar in it from some stitches i needed as a kid. got my brows done by jane about 2 years ago, and though i pointed this out to her, she proceeded to wax the top of the brow off (the hair growing above the scar), leaving my right brow lower than the left one. IT NEVER GREW BACK. I STILL HAVE UNEVEN BROWS. and it really will never grow back, so unless i color it (which i don't), if you were a doctor you might suspect i'd had a stroke at one point because the right side of my face looks lower than the left. or else that i was giving you the stink-eye. i mean, i might be, i don't know how i feel about you. but i might also just have crooked eyebrows. if you are jane, i am definitely giving you the stink-eye. aside from the uneven placement of my brows now, when jane waxed them, when she was finished, one brow was a curvy swoop. when i pointed out to her that she forgot to put the arch in on one of them, she said, oh yeah, look at that, let me fix it. she waxed a little arch in, so, i guess that's good that she's concerned with customer satisfaction, but...um...clearly, symmetry is not her main concern. which is too bad. because it's the FACE. i will say that it was good wax, and relatively painless, which is why she gets 2 stars instead of the 1 i'd give otherwise. because of, you know, the...disfigurement. i can't see any reason not to go to her for other waxes, but i would run away from her brow services. read more

I went to Jane for about a year. At first she was great at her job, but as time went on she got sloppy and lazy about getting all the hair taken off (attention to detail). I like Jane as a person and wanted to continue to support her business, but I would leave the salon and have to go home to shave sections that she clearly just DIDN'T even touch. If you pay 60.00 plus for waxing, only to have to leave and go shave, it tends to rub you the wrong way after about 3 substandard sessions. There are better, cheaper, more talented and centrally located estheticians in Portland. I now go to a fabulous woman (Heidi) at 77Salon in the Pearl. She is ten dollars cheaper AND she pays attention to details. No walking out with patches of Wooly Mammoth hither and thither. Heidi goes as far as to tweeze the little fuzzies if there is anything that she can't grab with the wax. Once in a while there might, **MIGHT** be a stray hair or two (max), but I think that's forgivable. Having to go shave after a waxing appointment however, is not. Again, I love Jane as a person, but I think she runs the McDonalds of waxing salons. read more

There are not enough starts on all of Yelp for Jane and her crew. I tried 3 or 4 aestheticians in Portland before finding Jane and I haven't looked back since. She does a wonderful job on your lady bits, is fast (who wants to drag that out?!) and as pain free as can be. Jane's vast knowledge of, passion for and expertise in skin care are outstanding and immensely valuable; however her vibrant, kind and wise spirit make her invaluable. I will go farther than the other reviewer and say that Jane is the best waxer I've ever been to. If I still lived in Portland, I would visit her all the time. She knows how to take a potentially awkward situation (brazilian wax) and make it comfortable and fun. She is also anal (pun intended) about getting every single hair.
