I had never been to this salon before but chose based on location, availability, ease of booking, and price. On all notes Vacation Club made this a win. My experience with Ally was great. I felt really heard about what I wanted when it came to styling and product use. The result was great for what I was looking for. The salon interior was pleasant as well, and they offered a beverage. I've had a lot of haircuts in my life, but the one I got from Tina at Vacation Club is the best I've ever had! Tina gave me a gorgeous shag cut a few months back and it's growing in beautifully! I don't write many Yelp! reviews, but I wanted to highlight Tina's incredible work. She's a true artist, and she made my blah hair look amazing. Tina made me look far cooler than I actually am, lol! The vibe was great! The talk was great. SO great that I had followed Allison through 3 salons despite moving 50 miles away. I figured my 11 year relationship with this stylist was so important. I really was invested about hearing about her life and her relationship and her dog, etc. I traveled to her and was happy to do so with the quality and professionalism I received. What I didn't like is when I caught Covid and tested positive (twice) the morning the day before my appointment. I called twice that day and left messages (this place NEVER ANSWERS their phone), and heard nothing. I got a text reminder of my appointment two hours before on the day of and called again. Once again NO ONE ANSWERED, even though I left a third voicemail. Wow okay never get sick! Sounds like a business modelled after the healthcare system I was inevitably charged $95. This is so detrimental to my budget as a single parent, and a graduate student who has very minimal time to work. The two stars are for Allison (who is more than a 5 star stylist) and deserves her dues...but there would be negative for the service. (don't even get me started on the story I got saying that it's my fault for not making it and they have to make their bills, etc. like we ALL don't have to. ugh) Do not trust this place with your money unless you're paying cash. Just please do not trust this place period. until these stylists can be free to have their own practice, you will be tied to not rescheduling AT ALL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Period. read more

I've been following my hair girl, Georgia, for years. I have to say, Vacation Club is my favorite salon she's been a part of. It's so bright and airy inside, and the vibe is always comfortable and cool. I've even had friends come with me to my appointments to chill and chat as I get my hair done. Little perks like a rosé, or hot tea if you aren't drinking that day are appreciated and always offered. They sell Eminence facial care, which is my favorite natural skincare line, and they use it in their facials. If you can get in to see Georgia, DO IT. She is a Hair God, but honestly, every "Do" I've seen walk out of that place is fabulous. The other stylists really seem to know what they're doing too! 5 Stars! read more

I've been entrusting my wayward locks to Daniela Zarevich for years, even traveling from California to see her. She is a gem of a person and one of the most skilled and intuitive stylists/colorists I have ever known. A whiz at everything from tousled shags to sunny balayage, she always knows what will be the most flattering look, and is equally happy keeping it traditional or going full-on experimental. As for the salon, Vacation Club's luxe-meets-bohemian vibe is housed in a sunlight-drenched space on the corner of Killingsworth and Vancouver. Malissa is my fav. She is a wonderful human being and incredible skin whisperer. I have been getting my facial waxings done with her for a while (maybe 2 years) since my last person moved across the river. I know it sounds petty to not follow someone to the westside, but I'm not able to get myself pampered if its not during the normal 9-5 time. Also she is based in the NE and location is everything! Welp, yesterday I had my first 60 minute custom facial. It was amazing. I don't know why I waited over 2 years to have one. I almost fell asleep, wait, maybe I did. That's saying a lot from someone who hasn't slept well all winter. Highlights - Poprocks - Some combination of gel/ goop on face and a reactive agent that makes a auditory pop along with the ever so slight pop/ ping against your skin. - Massaging - I will never turn down someone doing body work on my hands, arms, decolletage, face (of course), and bonus head! - Extractions - these are a necessary evil. Please poke and pinch all those nasties out! - Having an hour to relax Hopefully this review will entice you to give Malissa a try. She's amazing. read more

I've been to a lot of different eyelash extension techs before, but Lillian has been the best! She works very quickly- an hour fill looks as good as a 90 minute fill! I don't have to go in nearly as often to get lashes replaced because hers stick on until my lashes fall out naturally- there is almost no shedding, and I'm the kind of bad client who touches her face a lot and wears mascara. She's also a lot of fun to talk to, which is a definite bonus when you're stuck laying on a table with your eyes taped shut for an hour. She's very funny, and tells hilarious stories. I used to dread getting my lashes done because of the boredom, but now I look forward to chatting with her and coming away with an amazing set of lashes. read more

I just had my first haircut with Allison Jane and I feel like I found a lucky treasure. My aging hair is really tricky, half straight/frizzy and half curly underneath, and I didn't have a clue what to do with it. She took her time, guided me with thoughtful questions, and came up with something that really suits me and looks great wash-and-go as well as styled. Her scissor skills are amazing and she gave me lots of good advice. I'm always nervous to meet new people, but she radiates kindness and calm and I felt at ease right away. I've been using her services for about 2 years and followed her to the opening of her own spot here at Vacation Club. She does a great job with her "wax magic". Believe me... Booking or rescheduling is super easy with the phone app they offer. I never had an issue with my appointment schedule. I'm also always on time, but that is expected in any business of this kind. There's a new waxing genius in town and her name is Ajia!! I saw her today and got full Brazilian,lower leg & underarm-she did an amazing job. She was efficient and regimented with her step by step routine. She doesn't cross contaminate with the waxing sticks (double dipping) and is VERY CLEAN during the process. Since I'm fair skinned I have to be very careful when it comes to getting waxed but my skin is so happy and super soft!I love the alternate universe vibe that Vacation Club has to offer and might have to get my hair done the next time I stop by! Do not go here. I'm sure the stylists are plenty talented, but I booked a blowout here and waited 20 min before they figured out there has been a scheduling error. They had a stylist available, who then wanted to charge full price for a blowout with no iron work and then became too "scared" of my reaction to give me service. What a joke. Would her reaction have been the same if I was a White woman? The owner was was nice enough to call over to other salons in the area, but of course, on a Sat, nobody had openings. Left without a blowout, she still made zero other overtures to compensate me, even after I explicitly asked. I will never go back here again. Sorry Vacation Club, you are not that special. Sarah Collins is amazing. I'm always in awe of her color skills. She makes me feel beautiful inside and out whenever I get my hair done by her. I did not trust another person with my hair for 10 years until I started getting my hair done by her, and I have never once regretted it. I was quoted $300 for highlights and that is not what I received. She said that she could add more dark at the bottom highlights are not at the bottom of my hair. She did a horrible job and $300 for highlights is extremely high and to leave as an unsatisfied customer being told that it can be fixed for more money is absurd! What makes it worse is that you chose to lie instead of having a paying customer leave satisfied. I will never step foot into your business again! read more
