I'd say about forty percent of the store consists of young children's accessories, apparel and developmental toys. The rest of the store is focused on toys that could be children's toys though also considered collectibles for most adults. These include Sonny Angel, smiski, Miffy, Calico Critters, Totoro, Hello Kitty, Snoopy and Woodstock, and Monchichi, in plush, keychain, miniature and regular size forms. I appreciated their assortment of nostalgic 80-90s mini toys, like plastic dinosaurs, bouncy balls with glitter, knick knacks you might find in an 80s kids birthday party goodie bag. The staff seemed attentive when I walked in, one person on the floor, straightening merchandise, saying welcome to people as they walked in, also asking if anyone needed help, another staff member behind the counter in the back. *These mini baby dolls wearing nothing but different hats and head gear (not the orthodontic kind, more like cute animal ears or flowers on their heads) have been blowing up and seems like so many gen-Zers are collecting them.

The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop.

So when I needed a few special baby gifts I was so happy to see the store was still open and Susan was still running things. It was a beautiful store back then and is just as lovely now. Absolutely beautiful clothing, everything displayed perfectly with a great selection. Susan knew just what I was looking for and made my purchases so easy. I have to repeat how thrilled I am that Over The Moon has made it through and hope they are there for a a long time to come. Susan and staff too.
